maint. fee on closed acct
company cancelled card after 9 months. Was on time on all payments. It has been cancelled for almost 2 years now and they are still charging me a monthly maintenance fee of 9.95 which is crap when I am not even using the card. Have been paying as much as I can monthly to just get out from under these crooks. Never again I should have known better but these companies all have more rights than us and if THEY get into a bind our sweet government will bail them out.

Did not request account
I have never requested a credit card from this company and had never even hear of it until I viewed a copy of my credit report and discovered that I apparently had an account that I did not open. The account was open for 8 months, but nothing was ever charged, and it was supposedly closed "at consumer's request." After reading past complaints, apparently I got lucky. Additionally, the company does not list a phone number with the credit bureaus, and the website does not appear entirely legitimate. Clearly this company does not use ethical business practices, and consumers should stay far, far away!

I got the Salute Card last year to improve my credit rating, and also got the coverage incase I lost my job. I didn't go over the limit, and they raised my credit balance more. I always sent as a payment $75 to $100. I used it before Christmas to buy presents for my children. I was working 60 hours a week before Christmas, and forgot to make the webpayment on the Friday it was due. First thing Monday morning, I made the payment. I found out at the beginning of January that my credit had been cut off because I was three days late. They would not let me have my credit line again, I made the Jan. payment. February 1st I was laid off and called Salute to see what they do in that situation, and they told me that had been cancelled when my credit card was cut off. I paid into the insurance coverage, and they won't help me. What can I do?

cancellation
well i had this credit card for about 1 year and today i went to use it and it was declined i said wait a minute i just made a payment last week whats going on i called them and they gave me a bogus excuse so i aske dto speak to a supervisor and they said im not the only one with a closed account so i think i should get a full refund of my payment and all maintance fees and yearly fees this is bull s t...

CLOSING ACCOUNTS WITHOUT SENDING BILLS ARE NOTICES
THIS COMPANY CLOSED MY CARD FOR BEING OVERLIMIT OVER SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS AND THE FEES THAT I HAD ON MY ACCOUNT WERE FROM THEM THINGS LIKE FIRST I GOT LATE CHARGE OF 35 DOLLARS AND THAT PUT ME OVER MY CREDIT LIMIT SO THEN THEY PUT ANOTHER 35 DOLLARS OVER THE LIMIT FEE ALONG WITH FINANCE CHARGES AND THAT INITIALLY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT PERMANTLY THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME I CALLED IN TO PAY MY ENTIRE BALANCE AND THEY TOOK MY PAYMENT BUT ONCE I TRIED TO USE MY CARD IT DIDNT WORK I CALLED AND ASKED WHATS THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID MY ACCOUNT CAN NEVER OPEN AGAIN I JUST GOT THIS CARD A FEW MONTHS EARLIER AND I PAID 150 DOLLAR FINANCE CHARGE THIS IS A UNFAIR PLACE TO DO BUSSINESS I AM A HONEST PERSON AND THIS COMPANY IS TRYING TO DESTROY PEOPLES CREDIT AND STEAL FROM ANYONE WHO IS STUPID ENOUGH TO APPLY YOU WILL START OFF HAPPY WITH THIS CARD AND END UP ROBBED LATER ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION
