use of Blue Ray player
I purchased the subject system at Frye's Electronics, 2488 Market Place Blvd., Irving, Texas, Invoice No.#6296521 dated Thursday, March 25, 2010.
I had to return the entire system two (2) times in order to obtain a system
that functioned properly. Two (2) times of setting it up and then having to
put it back in the box and drive twenty-five (25) miles. I did finally get a
system that seemed to perform as was expected. However on April 22,
2010, I purchased 'Avatar'. I was informed that I needed a FIRMWARE up-
date in order to play this movie.
I have contacted the Samsung Technical Service. Once contacted I was
informed that since my system was not connected to the internet, I would
need a USB flash drive in order to download the necessary firmware up-
date that would enable my (most advanced Blu-Ray system currently on the
market) the ability to play this movie.
I purchased the flash drive and have been in contact with the Samsung
Technical Service Department. This situation as of 04/23/2010 @ 17:25 is
still not resvolved. I was originally instructed to purchase the flash drive
and then the firmware update necessary could be completed in a timely mat-
ter. That has not occurred! I have been now notified that Samsung has
known about this problem for quite awhile. Just check out goggle.com or
you tube.com.
I have grandchildren on the way to my house to watch this movie, I
payed more for this system than any other brand in the store. We have a
Samsung 42' Plasma TV, two (2) Samsung cellphones, a Samsung DVD
player and the current Blu-Ray home theater system. Unless this situation is
resvolved within the next twenty-four (24) hours. I WILL, WILL return the
Blu-Ray home theater system for the third (3rd) time. I can also promise
Samsung that I will never, NEVER buy another one (1) of your products
in my lifetime. Also means that the parents of my grandchildren, who are
on the way to my house to watch 'Avatar' in Blu-Ray, and my grand-
children will never, EVER purchase another Samsung product. If
necessary I will make that my LIFE'S statement.
Has this company ever heard of QUALITY CONTROL or maybe Samsung
is just like Toyota.
You have defintely lost me as a customer and future generations of my
family as well. I have posted this on you-tube, facebook and every place else.
What a disappointment you have been at this time to a very loyal
Samsung customer!!!
