The appointment with Stephanie lasted over 4 hours. It was reminiscent to buying a used car at the dealership. They call themselves academic advisors although what they really are is salespeople. They will try to find out all these personal details about your life to size you up and figure out a way to manipulate you to going to their school. I went in there interested in one program and they were trying to talk me into something else that I didn't even want to do. The prices for all of their programs are absolutely ridiculous. The whole atmosphere just felt as if I were surrounded by lying, soulless, money sucking vultures. To prey off of someone's hopes and dreams for a better life or a leg up in this world is to me just despicable. Your community college more than likely offers the same exact programs for what you are interested in and will cost a small fraction for what you will pay at any "vocational" school. Be careful out there when considering a private school. There are so many many scams and it's shameful that our government hasn't done anything about it yet.

rip offs that run USB accounts
To anyone out there who is considering attending Sanford Brown College or Utrasound Technology Institute, please run the other way. This school is not a legitimate school and are rip offs with UBS accounts. They cannot offer legal courses that allow you to get licensed when you graduate. The contract is not a college admissions contract, but more like a car contract where you owe are certain amount for the program regardless. Real colleges let you leave whenever you choose to, and you are only responsible for the cost of the classes you take each semester. Sanford Brown and UTI encourage you to take out student loans and and bank loans to complete a DIPLOMA course!! The average cost of a diploma course is roughly $3, 000, not $17, 000. They also tell you that you have to take the diploma before taking the associates degree program which is a lie. These are both stand alone programs. It's just a way to get more money out of the student. They also prey on the young and naive who are new to college programs. If you get financial aid, it normally covers the cost of classes and you have some left over for books and necessities. You should never have to take out a loan to complete a diploma course. I cancelled my registration within the 3 days that they allow you to change your mind. Notice that you are allowed 3 days to cancel their contract, but when it comes to a legitimate college you usually can cancel before the first day of classes and owe nothing and even after classes start, you only lose a small percentage every week until you completely withdraw. They also write bad checks that can't be located in the banking system because the are in UBS accounts which is a way of hiding money and evading taxes. They are also being sued by many. The complaint are in every state where they have set up shop. I am still waiting for my $35.00 fee to be returned. Nydia Rodriguez, Bill Harris, David Kagan, Dave Baumgartener and all the rest that work for a company that you know are crooked to the core, your Karma will get you because what goes around comes around.
