Gap Insurance Rip-Off
I purchased Gap Insurance on a new 2011 auto. I was in a head-on collision and I was not at fault. My car was totalled. I filled insurance paperwork within 30 days. Three months later, Santander Collection people started calling me and said that I owed them $7406, for the balance due to not having Gap Insurance. I called Hardin Hyundai and spoke to Joe, one of the finance managers. He said he would contact Santander USA and send them signed proof of my Gap policy. Santander two months later denied my Gap policy because 120 days had passed, and now they constantly keep calling me, and have put $7406 Charge-Off on my Credit Report.

Illegal practices
I paid off a loan through Santander in Feb 2011. I bought a new car through Santander around the same time. Despite having made a full payoff Santatnder withdrew another auto payment from my account. When I spoke to the customer service reps they shared it was my fault for not closing the account with my bank. Despite it making no sense I went to my bank and they indicated it was Santander's issue!.

I submitted a formal request for refund and bank documents!. March passes without result:. I file more formal requests and complaints!. No one from the accounting department will speak to me as their payment agents and account reps cannot forward calls into their office/. I continue to make timely payments on my current cars financed through Santander'.

April passes, . I file more complaints. May passess and I file more complaints. In May I speak with an account supervisor who reviews my notes on the account and indicates I should pay the balance between what is owed to me and what I owe for my May payment. I do just as he requested and I ask him to make a formal note on the account indicating this was done at his approval.

It is now June and still no refund, but customer service calls me several times a week to indicate my car payments are delinquent as I did not pay the full payment. I have spoken with no less than 4 supervisors in the last week and they have not been helpful on any level. My accont continues to draw interest and late fees.

This is not an ethical company. I have no recourse working within thier system and cannot charge them interest, but they charge me interest and threaten my credit. I would strongly warn against using this company for financing.

Collection Calls
Santander starts calling for payment the next day after it is due. They call 4 to 5 times a day on both home and cell phone numbers which then makes it 8 to 10 times a day. I am slow in paying due to the way that I am paid but they always get paid.

Rip off
During the time my loan was with Citifinancial everything went smoothly. I had contact with them only 2 times when I asked for a deferred payment. Both times Citifinancial gave me 2 months. My loan was due in January and I made 4 extra payments to Santander for the 4 deferred payments. I was getting ready to start watching the mail for my title but to my surprise received a visitor instead wanting to repossess the car. When I showed them the receipts on line where I had made all of my payments they left. I call Santander and they tell me I owe and extra $1600. I have no choice but to send them a Money Gram today just to keep my car from being repossessed.

Just bad...any info on a lawsuit?
Guys I am not here to name call or degrade, I am simply here to try to warn would be buyers about this terrible company. It doesn't matter to these people if you are a current customer or running behind. These are just rude people and they really don't deserve to have jobs. I just can't believe the amount of interest that they charge and the level of customer service! With a level of 1-10 I give santander a -100! I seriously have NOTHING positive to say about this company!

Refund on Auto Loan Account
My husband and I had a loan with Santander for 2 years regarding a car loan, and never missed a payment or submitted a payment late. We recently refinanced, in which the new financier paid off the account, but we inadvertently submitted another payment not knowing the account was closed. This created a credit to the account which has been acknowledged by Santander. However, here we are 15 days later, and after 3 phone calls with representatives Tracia, Rachel and Supervisor Danny with no satisfactory results. Both ladies claimed that their accounts payable department would start the refund process back to our AMEX in 10 days. I specifically asked Rachel if there was anything I needed to do, and she said that she had initiated the process. Now speaking to Danny today, all he can offer is a sorry and now states that it takes 30 to 45 days. This level of service is unacceptable. We will simply contest the charges on our AMEX, but I want every consumer to know that I advice them not to do business with Santander UNLESS they wish to have any financial connection with a "dysfunctional" business that can't seem to get their act together. We refinanced to just get a better rate. I didn't know the consolation prize was get our money away from such a poorly managed business.

UNRESPONSIVE
SANTANDER has proven themselves over the past 8 months to be a total Predator with no responsibility to respond to customer's written requests.
The auto loan documents, which were sold to Santander by another Predator, Citi Auto Financial, were entered incorrectly yet SANTANDER will not respond to correction requests.
As for their customer service personnel, they are the absolute bottom of the barrel. And, they could care less.

Phising scam?
I had received notice that I will now start making payments to them on a truck of mine, I tried to call and in order to talk to a human, I needed to put in my account Number. Well the account number didn't work, they could not find my account (The auto voice) I E-Mailed, got an Auto Reply that they received my E-mail. after a week I just started pushing buttons, and got ahold of some clown from Jamacia. He wanted all sorts of info. to include my Social Security number. If they are on the up, and up, this is by far the worst company I've had the displeasure of having to deal with. I've never been notified by the original loan holder that they sold the contract. and I don't think they went out of business. Odd just Odd. Oh and John Santander, I'm not a loser, but you're an asshole.

Scam
We financed our vehicle through Drive Financial. Like many other people here, there were no problems. Then, about one year into it, we were advised that our loan was sold to Santander Consumer Finance.

In March of last year, my wife was badly hurt at work. Hurt so bad I had to quit my job to see about her. Things were tight, but we still were able to pay the truck note. We went without eating several times, just to make the note. Eventually, I was able to work again, after I had moved by family who helped take care of my wife. Then, my wife's company cut off her work comp. payments, and we had to start the long process of a law suit.

We were left with just my paycheck. By this time, we had over two years of perfect payments, not even One late payment. But, we had fallen desperatly behind. They did work with us at first, but all downhill from there!

They gave us a deferrment and moved the late fees and penalties to the back of the loan and gave us until the next due date to make another payment. I was able to pay the next payment. It looked like we were getting back on track.

But not so fast-

I had a cut in pay, and told them I would be a little late on my next payment, but I could make it if I had a little lee-way. They said it was not possible. I asked if I could have one more deferrment. They said I just had one and was required to make at least one payment to qualify for another one. When I told them that I had made a payment, they told me I was lieing.

When I finally proved it to them, they said I still ahd to make one more payment to qualify for deferrment. I borrowed Money from family and made one more payment. Then they told me that I couldn't get a deferrment for another six months. And they said I owed interest on it, by the day.

By the next payment date, I was able to pay the regular note of $454.00. They said they wouldn't take it. They said I owed too much interest and that I needed to pay at least $800.00 and THEN the $454.00. I told them I wouldn't.

They called every hour every day for weeks. Finally, they made me an offer.

They said if I just pay a regular note, it would put all the interest on hold until the next pay date, which would give me time to raise the money.

I gave them the note. The next day, they called me and wanted money. I told them what was discussed. They said whoever made that "deal with you, lied to you. And now your interest is $2, 010.00"

Every time I call them, they lie to me. I give them money, and they call and want more.

Today, the truck was repossed while I was at someone's house! They pulled up right after me and hooked up.

I asked him to show me his papers stating he had the right to repossed, all he showed me was his IPHONE. And wouldn't let me read it.

Even my lawyer said it was repossessed illegally.

They don't care.

Over two years of perfect payments mean nothing!

constant changing prices
We financed our truck with Roadloans which was bought out by Santander Consumer, and it has been a hassle from the get go. Our finance charges are more than what we borrowed. I'm pretty sure we can't join the class action law suit because my husband had to sign a promissory note that he would not join one. My truck was repossessed, they called an hour after to make a payment arraignment not even knowing the repossessed it! They told me the current charge would be $1004 then after the towing it would be around $1400. I borrowed the money and now they say it's over $2200 without the tow fees. They have no idea who is doing what and exactly what amount is do. I would like to get my truck back but they can't seem to come up with an accurate amount of what I need to pay. They said we have 10 days but the truck will be moved over to auction in 72 hrs. The tow company said don't let them tell you any bull crap you have 14 days and Santander swears they only have to wait 10 days.
