Inflexible
I originally had my loan through Drive Financial which was taken over my SAtander. I have paid every month on time for 2 years now. I work full time, am a single parent and enrolled in school this year to try and better my life.
I contacted Satander multiple times to try and alter my payments so that I can afford to still send them the money, make payments to school and still try to raise my daughter. Their customer service agents are beyond rude. They are completely inflexible and will not work with their clients at all.
I just found out they are a debt collection agency and wonder how my loan ever got to this place if I was a good customer and always made my payments.
I have written a letter to the Attorney General and copied in my 2 senators, my state representative, the better business bureau and the President/CEO of Satander. This is ridiculous. I might also send it to the local paper. Not sure if this will get me anywhere but have run out of options at this point.

Financing Rejected After 1 Full Month
On 5/22/10, I purchased a 2008 Scion TC from Rusty Wallis Honda and Santander Consumer USA accepted my application for funding. They agreed to finance my car. I never received anything in the mail, email, phone call, etc. from Santander, so I called them on Monday 6/21/10. They told me that my application was rejected and sent back to Rusty Wallis Honda. They claim that when I did a phone screen with a CSR from S.C.USA, that I failed my screening. SHe claims that I didn't answer 1 question correctly. I submitted every single piece of information know to man to that company. They contacted my references, called my job to verify employment, had copies of my TXDL, SS Card, paycheck stubs, electric bill, bank statement, etc. I have had this car for 1 month now, and I called in to find out how to make my first payment when they informed me of this matter. I signed a contract with Santander C. USA, via Rusty Wallis Honda, and now they have rejected it. I want them to honor this contract, and explain to me why they waited a full month to inform me of this, but only informed when I called them. They were rude, ignorant to certain questions. One girl I spoke with didn't even know what their "Funding Dept" was. We have a legal contract, and according to local and state laws, they must honor this contract. How can I resolve this matter. Has anyone ever heard of such an ignorant situation?

Negligence
Situation: Santander Consumer took over HSBC. With HSBC, when you call for a payment deferment, they will tell you yes or no. Santander took over the company. I called in for a deferment and they verbally told me "ok you’re all set". A month later I get a bill for the past month with a late fee. It was not differed. So I called to complain, and they said they have to repeat the process to fix the problem. It got deferred; however they didn’t remove the late fee. So I called and spoke to JIM ROY SCOTT, accounts manager, who refused to remove the late fee after apologizing for the negligence. Who also refused to give me the number to complaints (only given me a P.O. box number, says that there is not a number to complaints). The late fee is $17.06. Small right, but lets multiply this, if this was to happen to ONE MILLION clients, the company takes $17, 060, 000.00 (17 Million) from the public. Justice must be served!

Bad service
I have paid with my debit/credit card online for the past 2 yrs, this includes a $5 dollar transaction fee, which is fien with me. After Santander took over I have issues paying with my card online.
I either have to call in ($10.95) transaction fee or give my direct bank account information (I'd be crazy to do that) if I want to pay online
I have a feeling the error is not just an error and I don't find it coincidental that all these complaints are up here and then this occurs too.
This is a perfect example of what you hear about a comapany trying to compile more fees for their own benefit by canceling out one payment option w/ a $5 dollar fee and directing people to the online payment option that has a $10.95 dollar fee.
If that is not the case, then you think they would fix what is making them look bad. When I spoke to the rep on the live chat, I told her that the site was giving me and error though I had not mentioned what the error was. She responded with "is it giving you error 56?" I sadi yes...now how would she up and offer that right ofrf the bat if many, many more peopel did not make the same complaint to the company? If they know about why has it not been fixed???

Harrasment calls they call me 12 times or more a day. I'am not behind in my payments and they still call every day.
I'am being called 10 to 12 times a day. They call me at home and my place of business. I'am not behind in my payments and they do not record the payments. I will call to check when my last payment was made and is my next payment is do. They will say my payment was made on May 11, 2010 and my next payment is do May 12, 2010. So they never have their payments recorded up to date. I want so much for the calling to stop. It is every day and night. Please help me stop the calls. They are receiving thier money each month. Thank you and please help me to stop them. The company was owned by HSBC auto financing and was sold to Santander Consumer and thats when they started calling.

Stay away
We agreed to 60 payments to have paid $ 12025.00in amount financed, And a total of $20, 938.80 and after 60 payments have been paid, we would have paid $24, 438.80 including a $3, 500 down-payment. And after we have paid our 60 payments, we had paid $21, 252.89, That's $358.00 over paid at that point, they have made us pay 62 payments so far and that comes to $21, 610.89, that puts us at $672.09 overpaid. They are trying to make us pay an additional $13, 062.36 GOING TO THE LAWYER TOMMOROW.

Late Fees
My original Car Loan was with HSBC they sold my loan to Santander Consumer 3 months ago, I have never been late with my payments, since Santander took over they have charged me late fees, first of all they changed my due date from the 4th to the 2nd of the month, I mail my paymets on the 1st of every month, I have a 10 day grace period which means I have until the 12th, they are posting my payments on or around the 9th of the month and charging me a late fee when I am still within my grace period. This is outrageous. I called them and they told me they would have to request my account to be audited before they would remove the late fees. This is a shady company that is taking advantage of people to make money. I am writing to the Better Business Bureau.

names on statement
My husband and I bought a car in 2007. Re-financed with RoadLoans. Santander Consumer bought Roadloans. They took my name off the statement. When we asked about it. They only put the main borrower on the statement. Now, we are behind and I need to take a hardship loan from my 401k. They refused to give my anything with my name and current due. Not a letter or nothing. They have told me that they are sending my contract and that should be enough, but I been waiting three weeks and had to call 4 times now!!! I have told them if not what I need to get this bill current. There's no customer service! If you use this company don't expect any help!!!

wanting more payment car paid off
I paid my loan off on my 2001 Nissan that was first financed through Triad Finance. I received a notice that Santander was taking over and that my payments would be made to this company. Fine, I was on auto-payment and was not to concerned until...I paid the last payment in March 2010, and was expecting my title at least within 6 weeks of last payment. But, no, I get a phone call stating that I still owed $188.00, and I asked why. Stated that there was just a half of a payment made, and I reminded them that I was on auto-pay, so how could that happen. Was told they would look into it, It has been over two week, and received call, still stating I owed the money. I informed them that I was told someone was looking into the situation and would call me back. Yeah, right. I sent a letter over a month ago, asking about this, but no reply and after reading all the other complaints against this company I can see why. I sure hope this mess gets straightened out for everyone concerned as it is a real headache.

Giving me huge run around
I work for a car delaership in WNY. I have been trying for weeks to get a lien release for a vehicle and I am getting major run around from both HSBC & Santander.
I talk to Santander, who tells me to call HSBC, so I do only to be informed by HSBC that auto finance no longer exists & they give me a number for Santander. This is absolutely ridiculous!
I am thinking of going to the Better Business Bureau on both banks. I don't know if they will be able to help, but it's worth a shot right?
