quit working within 4 months of use
I recieved a camera as a gift from my husband, and he did not purchase the extended warranty. There was a 90 day warranty on parts and labor with the purchase of the camera, and that date starts from time of purchase. So, first of all be aware that if you are buying a gift know that the warranty clock starts ticking at time of purchase, not first time of use. Secondly, the camera completly stopped working at about day 115 and I am just out of luck. Walmart will not help, and Sanyo will not budge. Walmart will only let you return a camera within 30 days of purchase. As far as Sanyo goes, if you are lucky enough for your camera to make it to day 91 from purchase then, congratulations!, you have bought yourself a $104.84 disposable camera! Because whenever I contacted Sanyo, they told me that it would cost at least $100 dollars for them to even look at it, and that repairing it was not "feasible or economical". That was a quote from Sanyo customer service, in the form of an email. Now when I talked to them over the phone and told them what had been said to me in that email, he then said to me that I could buy another one of there cameras for the cost of getting mine fixed! I am so frustrated! I, but theres nothing I can do. Why would I want to buy another one of there crappy cameras when I hardly got to use the last one, before it broke. In closing, I would like to note that I took really good care of this camera, no more than I used it, it has not a scratch on it, in fact it still has the stickers on it. I only used it on 3 differently occasions. I scratch it, I did not drop it in the tub, nor did I run over it with my car. It is a brand new camera that does not work!!! Do not buy a Sanyo camera, or any Sanyo product, as far as that goes. Check out "my3centsworth" on the internet. It's not just cameras!!!
