Deadly Product
On Sunday, June 26, 2011, put Sargeant's squeeze on product on my border collie mix (around 1-year old) and within 12-hours, he was lethargic, vomiting, glazed look in eyes, no strength, and no appetite. Monday, June 27, 2011, Monday morning, I took him out to do his business. Fifteen minutes later, he came back in. He didn't eat his food or drink his water. Monday afternoon, still not eating or drinking. On Tuesday evening, June 28, 2011, we went to the Vet. He was given an antibiotic and 7 pills to take daily for the next week. The Vet said to wash the Sargeant's off him. On June 29, 2011, Wednesday morning, still not eating or drinking. By lunchtime on Wednesday, I left work and fed him low sodium chicken broth with a baby medicine syringe. Wednesday evening he had jumped in the bathtub, I gave him another washing. He seems to enjoy it. He had started sipping water on his own but not eating. On Thursday, morning at 3:00 a.m., he was standing in the shower looking sad in the dark. I picked him up and put him in his bed. Later on Thursday, I took him outside, he did his business - #1 but no #2. He only drunk water when he came back in the house. On Thursday, I went to work late, left work at lunchtime. He was almost unresponsive. I took him to the emergency hospital. The guy asked me if I wanted them to perform CPR if necessary, I told them, 'yes'. A few minutes later, I was handed paperwork to fill out and a few minutes after that, a woman came in and told me that 'he had passed'. My tears flowed (as they are now), like a blizzard in the middle of wintertime. Never in my life, did I think or assume that a product on the shelf could do such harm to an innocent sweet animal (see his most comfortable sleeping picture below). Please, if you are reading this, find a 'green' product to control fleas. Within 12-hours, my dog had stopped eating and drinking entirely and had started vomiting. On the 2nd day, I took him to the Vet where he was given an antibiotic shot and 7 pills to day daily. I was told to wash him when I got home. On Tuesday nite, he By Thursday, June 30th, 2011, of the same week - he passed. I will never subject myself to another animal that meant so much in the short amount of time that I had him. A piece of my heart has broken off. It will heal but never be whole again. I feel so empty and lost. Please take care of your pets the best way that you can - with 'green' products!
