SBI Credit Card Reviews

September 15, 2007
Poor service and worst customer care!
I and my friend both have SBI Credit Cards. Normally my friend gives me money and I used to give him a my bank cheque for his credit card payment. Last month in the same way I gave him a cheque of Rs 3000/- against his credit card number, surprisingly the amount was credited into my SBI Credit card. I have all the proofs that the cheque was issued to his credit card number. When I call the customer care they are speaking very rudely and just simply saying that it is not possible. And on the other hand they are going on imposing fines in his credit card and not giving any solutions to the issue.

TO: DEAR MANAGER CUSTOMER SERVICES,

Please let me know why I have not yet been issued NO DUES CERTIFICATE.

Please do not just keep sending sms for payments & what makes you to generating statements after statements after march 2007.
If you can send the no dues certificate its fine but if you cannot send no dues certificate then please do not send any further sms or statements, if you wish to continue then please understand that i will be forced to take up the issue with law makers of our country.
I will not allow such unlawful tactics to squeeze money from me.
I once again state that i have settled my card payment full & final on 28/03/2007 & have no dues now.

Fraudulant transactions
I was in mental agony for the past two months because of this card people and their stereo type e-mail answers. In May 2007, when I was in Vizag, there were 5 transactions posted in my card account and all these were Chennai transactions. All these transactions were done on one day 26/5/07 and same day I also had a transaction at Vizag. I reported this matter and sent dispute form to their charge back department on 14/06/07. They said all these 5 disputed transactions are of 'Swipe' transactions, which means my card was used for swiping. Then I have sent a request to Asst. Vice President, customer care and two charge slips out of 5 were sent to me on 23/7/07. To my surprise the card number and name on these charge slips were same as my card. But the the date of expiry was different and the signature on the charge slip was not mine. Moreover the time of transaction is almost same as my genuine transaction at Vizag. I have sent a copy of the charge slip of my genuine transaction and wrote detailed letter highlighting these differences immediately on 24/7/07. Now after a month I have got a lr from them saying that the card used is mine and they are urging me to pay the money to avoid penal interest etc.

Can anybody explain how the details of my card were duplicated and why bloody these cards are so probable of fraud. I need suggestion to solve this problem. Luckily till date I have not got any threatening calls.

Unprofessional people
During one of their marketing campaigns, the agents of SBI Credit Card thrust over me a credit card. I am very meticulous in using my credit cards. I also have credit cards of HSBC, HDFC, AMEX and Stanchart. I rarely use my credit card and always believe in using a debit card as there are no further headaches. I used SBI credit card during the past 3-4 months and was paying the bill in full (I never avail any credit). Last month also, I dropped my cheque in SBI branch in Anna Salai Chennai. Suddenly, on 28.08.2007, I received a call from one Mr.Thomas (if I remember the name correctly) who asked me to pay Rs.400 as minimum payment. I informed to him that all the bills are paid. He pleaded that the latest bill is not paid and the bill is delivered to one Mrs.Padmini. He also confirmed that all the bills are delivered to Mrs.Padmini. Again I confirmed that in the complex of four houses where I stay, there is no person by that name. But he never accepted it and insisted that he would send the executive for collection of the amount.

I informed him that I would like to pay the entire dues as I do not want any credit to continue. He was not aware what the balance was and as a passing remark, he told it is around Rs.3790. He also in an accusing tone told me that I have made some purchases against the credit card. He asked me what my conclusion was. I reiterated to him that I would like to pay it in full and he can send his executive along with an up to date statement. He said, he can't do that and insisted for Rs.400. He also pleaded his inability to raise a duplicate bill or send any e-mail to me. When I was clear that I want to make the payment in full, he said, in a concluding tone "OK, We will take action against you".

On 29th Aug, I received three calls from three different people from SBI Credit card asking for Rs.400. Finally, I could talk to one Sheela and informed her that I would like to pay it in full. She said, the balance is Rs.5,138. She would be sending the executive not today (29th) but tomorrow (30th).

I have all the doubts - are they really doing some good business? The person who threatened me with action, can he be called a salesperson? I also told him to verify my earlier transactions and he can note that I have always paid the amount in full, without availing a single paisa credit. For information, I always maintain a small credit balance in all my credit card accounts - I do not want to get into the whirlpool of these tactics.

Can anyone tell the people calling to understand that not all the credit card holders are thieves or defaulters. Resorting to threatening of action is become a fashion of today. If it crosses a certain level of tolerance, this tactic is sure to explode. Can anyone also clarify as to how the balance was Rs.3790 yesterday and shot up to Rs.5138 today? What is the system? I am unable to understand.

The very fact that this complaint board says there are 53 complaints on this company, raises a doubt in the user's mind as to whether the people talking to the customers know the business and their own limitations?

Fraud and cheating!
Hi my name is Shyam S, I work for a software company in Bangalore. I have an SBI credit card. I had made a transaction of Rs 55000/- for my cousin. This was split in to 3 EMI' and it did not carry any interest. It just included a processing fee of Rs 336.72. My cousin is in to business and every month he transfers the EMI amount to my savings account and I pay the EMI. Even if my cousin couldn't pay the EMI prior to the due date, he assured that he will pay it along with the late payment penalty.

The first EMI of Rs 18671.00 was paid on 4th June 2007. The second EMI of Rs 18334.00 was paid on 20th July 2007. The second EMI was paid after the due date, The third EMI was supposed to be paid on 6th Aug, since my cousin couldn't arrange money by then and had no problem in paying the same with late payment penalty.

On 17th Aug 2007, a lady claiming to be from SBI called me from +914439830184. She told me about my outstanding balance. I asked her to send her representative to collect the cheque from me on 20th August 2007. Meanwhile on 18th Aug 2007 I have received an SMS from SBI which says "Your SBI Card bill of Rs. 19714.52 with due date of 05-SEP-07 has been dispatched." This "19714.52" includes the penalty for late payment, So on 20th Aug I carried a cheque of Rs 19715/- to my office. The representative "Manjunath" turned up only on 21st August 2007. The representative was not ready to accept the cheque from me as it was dated to Sep 3rd. My due date is Sep 5th. This had something to do with the commission.

The representative called up his manager Devraj 99860 24457 using my mobile. Then I received a call from +914439830184 and this time that rude lady was telling me that I have paid only one EMI so far. We had an argument and I challenged them to send an email stating that I had paid only one EMI, So that I can take appropriate action against them. Finally I received an email from [email protected] which did not mention that I had paid only one EMI, but it had my credit card statement.

The two EMI' which I claim to have paid was clearly shown in the credit card statements sent by [email protected] to me.

These guys n gals are either too careless or really handpicked dumb a***oles.

Very poor service!
Today I received one call from the cards collection agency from delhi. He used choicest of abuses and threatening language which is beyond imagination. I suppose they have hired hooligans for calling the customers and pay them for their abusive language. Such agencies should be booked under such offenses and the ruffians they hire should be hanged for their absolutely abusive and filthy language.

Deficiency in services!
Card requested was Gold card but they sent some Social card with limit of just Rs 4000/-. When the balances was just Rs 2500/- & presented at an outlet for payment of Rs 500/- bill, the message read 'Services Terminated Contact Customer Care'.

Letter was written to AVP Customer Care with cheque of entire payment and request to close acct, the cheque was encashed but acct not closed, hence received a fresh bill. Is this the way of doing business? Fleecing people and shoddy attitude, that too from AVP Customer Care. GOD help those going in for SBI banking services. The worst is probably yet to come!

Poor service!
I have paid my due amount Rs. 2000 /- to the SBI Credit Card Collection Agent. I got the receipt for the same. but the agent paid only Rs 1500 to my credit card account. I asked the collection agent but he replied that he spent the amount in an urgency. I made complaint to sbi customer service they asked me to fax me the receipt copy i faxed it for four times and i got a letter stated to send a hard copy to SBI Customer service and again i sent it through courier. But still there is no response from SBI customer care i left it because i have SPENT MORE THAN Rs 600 to get back my Rs 500.

SBI CARD HOLDERS PLEASE BE AWARE OF THESE COLLECTION AGENTS. KINDLY DROP YOUR CHEQUES DIRECTLY IN SBI BANK.
