We have met with one of the sales representatives in Greessburg PA and he was not customer friendly when we asked many times if we could pick the materials we like from the choices from what they offer to get an price estimate. He responded "NO" as "joking???" many times...Well, after 5 weeks waiting we did not recieve a price estimate yet, although emailed and called many times not only the rep but also the manager. No wonder he was saying "no" when we wanted to pick the materials, may be he really meant it!

I do not feel confident that how they would build a house if they can not give a price estimate! Or, there is something going on we do not know! At least I can guess either a discrimination case for internationals, or it can be only a salesman fault.

I now have four different areas of my roof that are leaking. This has happened once before in the garage. They said it had nothing to do with the roof. That it was the freeze and thawing of the wet drywall. They came out, sanded down all the drywall in the garage (you can only imagine the dust)the redid the drywall. Now it happening again, except it's also in 3 differnt areas. I now have cracked and stained ceiling in the bedroom, kicthen and great room (which has cathedrel ceilings).I called Schumacher and they put me on hold, then gave me someones voice mail, that I have not heard from. Ohio State Attorney General here I come. Wish me luck.

Schumacher homes is not all they advertise to be. They are inflexible. The site supervisor has ordered incorrect products. They change the materials on the construction after the contract is signed to make more profit for themselves and provide lesser quality.

The biggest problem is the site supervisor shows poor attention to detail. The subs keep taking the key and I cannot get into my own house. The company does not return calls, or provide a key. The supervisor will not return my calls to get a key to check on the work. It has been almost a week since I could get inside, and I am out there at least once a day...locked out.

Schumacher underbids the sub work so your cost ends up higher than anticipated, this also puts more profit in their pockets. I wish I had seen this site and the other input before I started building with them. I do not recommend Schumacher homes.

Our experience with schumacher homes is not a pleasant one we personally found them below standard. Whenever I would catch something during construction the first response from our personal builder was always full of fluff. I work in the construction industry so I know what I am looking at and how things should be done to be correct. So I was always ready to point out the correct way for it to be done. They were very fast at getting the house built 6 months from start to finish was pretty good but we are now 1 year later still trying to get things done. They are not very fast at taking care of the problems and terrible at calling you and getting the job done. But they were always very efficient at calling for there draw money! hum I don't know if this is company wide but this is standard at the office in northwest Ohio. Would I build with them again NO. Would I recommend them to anyone NO. This is my personal opinion and I hope it helps.One bit of advises I would pass on is DO NOT sign ANY paper until you have an attorney look at it notice the warranty they give you. It is not what you think and they do not explain any of it to you when you give them the deposit they are going to give you a black 3 ring binder and ask you to sign a paper saying they gave it to you. DO NOT sign this what you are doing is signing away your right to take them to court. You are agreeing to go to there arbitrator which will be a long drive from your home and you have to pay for it 500-1000 dollars for the honor of using the people they have hired please learn from our mistakes. Also the windows they use the Andersen 200 series are not good they are very drafty and they leak in rain storms this has been our experience thank you and good luck.
