Irrational Behavior by Store Owner

I walked into the store and asked the store owner about paing for items with a check. She became agitated and said she did not need to accept checks if she didn't want to. I aked about a sign being posted and she said she did not need one. Then she began to raise her voice and yell at me about trying to force her into taking a check. I asked her why she felt insulting a customer was appropriate and what it would result in. She became more irrational and walked closer to me yelling and pointing her finger in my face. I told her she needed to lower the tone in her voice and then she said she would call the police to have me removed. She made a huge scene infront of other customers and was extremely and irrationally disrespectful while I had not once raised my voice to her. I don't understand why she felt it was alright to begin yelling at me infront of the store and why she persited to yell about accepting a check when I was not too worried about her accepting my check and more interested in her posting a sign.

Disrepectful and Unprofessional Conduct

The owner insulted and humiliated a customer in public. The customer attmpted to pick up a lay-away item but was told that she could not pay using a check because they don't except checks on weekends even though the deposit was paid with a check to the owner a few weeks earlier without any problems. The customer attempted to show proof that she had the money in her account by calling the bank, but the store owner walked away and ignored her. She said all people had a story to tell or paper to throw aroound and she said no stores except checks anymore. She told the customer to go to the atm and get money even though the customer said she did not have a debit card. The customer said the owner could take the check and wait for it to clear then the customer would come get the product, but the owner insisted on yelling at the customer and saying she would not be forced to take a check if she did not want to. If a store will not except checks, they should not make any exceptions or change the rules when they feel like it. The owner should have said checks are not accepted when the customer attempted to pay the deposit with a check. The owner should have also stayed respectful and professional when speaking to the customer instead of yelling.
