My husband DJ's on the side for extra money.We have made a friend from this one DJ gig and got to know this family for like 7 years. We had leaks coming in our home and this family had a son who worked for this roofing company name SDS Storm Damage Specialists of America. Well everything seemed ok and this company is in the BBB with a credit of A+ I mean everything looked legit. So we signed the contract and they negotiated with our insurance company. Which the job is the roof and the interior . We got the first check from our insurance company and signed a check over to SDS Storm damage Specialists of America Constructions and I got to chose the style shingle I wanted, and the representative shook my and my husband hand and said see you in two weeks. Thats when the NightMare began.

It started with that they never told us thats theres no such a thing about 2week. That we was in some list of 34th customer, which that blew my mind away. And that I was harrassing them because of my questioning them so much. Then my so call friend The Representative & The Owner of this company just tells us that they do not want to work with us anymore, for us to cancel and that they will just take their 25% percent and that I could just find another company with whats left money that we get. I was Outraged! and beside myself. So I was recommended to complaint to the BBB. when i did this complaint the owner called asking why I did this and then decided to do the job and was being very rude by saying snobby comments. Well the roof finally started and we was very relieved about it all. Ok so on the second day while the roof is beginning the owner of SDS with his partner tells me and my husband about stuff our insurance company will not cover and they made a list, which came out to be $2751.00 and we thought it was very reasonable.We made an agreement and I gave a check deposit. My husband decided to call our insurer seeing if maybe they could help us with whats not being coverd. Surprisingly our insurance company told us they will pay our debt.We was so happy called SDS owner and told him he needed to call our insurer to confirm it. So we get the check in mail and we was confused cause the check that was sent to us was over $4300 hundred dollars, which the agreement was way less. So my husband calls his insurer questions the check. So our insurer tells my husband to pay what we owed.We did not know what to do, so we wrote on a check what we owed and figured give the rest back to the insurance company. SDS owner started to complaint cause he wanted the whole $4300, everything got very bad, called our insurer and was told to just give SDS owner the rest of the money and should more then enough .So we cut another check and again was told by SDS Owner he be back in two weeks for the interior to be done. Then i find out through the insurance scope that SDS owner was doing fake charges to my insurance company and then charge his customers for the same charges saying what your insurance company is not going to cover.

The story ends by them never returning to finish my interior. SDS Owner made another form from the same one saying we owed him money of what my insurance did not cover, which was the same exact list. We having to call The Building Department to get the Full Dump-ster Box removed because SDS abandoned it on my property for like a month and would not move this full dump-ster unless we paid this mystery fee we never agreed on and holding my interior hostage for this fee we do not owe. I get harassing phone calls and letters by the owner saying things like putting LIENS on my house ect... BEWARE to anyone looking for a roofing company (Stay away from SDS Storm Damage Specialists of America) cause you may never see whats behind the other side of the wall. We are learning our lessons big time.

I am so hurt and so disappointed at the same time :(
