This company promised rebates in the form of a check based on the funds saved by booking airlines and hotels through their agents for all club members. We paid a premium for our membership so we could book group travel for friends when we attend our children's sports events and playoffs in other states. We received a total of two checks for our first couple of bookings. However, we have unsuccessfully attempted to get 4 other rebates we are entitled to since March of 2008. Two months ago we were asked to send in an annual renewal payment even though we were owed money by the company.
I spoke with a Michelle at the travel club agency and she promised to get our rebates to us. We were told that the company made an error in another department concerning our rebates. She said that we were in fact due several hundred dollars or more for each week long hotel stay. I received about three calls from her and was quickly forgotten.
This has been a huge headache and we will never be a part of a travel club again. We originally got involved in this club to get better group deals. Prior to becoming a member of Sea Land Travel Club we had no issues finding awesome places to vacation at great prices - it only takes a little time sifting through the worldwide internet. We had never used a travel agent or agency before becoming members and we'll go back to scheduling our own airlines, hotels, and vacation destinations ourselves and be happier for it!
All of the promised gifts once you became a member of the club like: petroleum rebates from Free Bee Gas, free coach round trip airline tickets for two, and other goodies were never received either by us either, but I meticulously did everything required to get the rebates or free gifts.
Sea Land Travel Club is a scam!
