Bought this washer and drier set in 2008. Worked well until about 6 monthds ago and began getting the F1 message intermittantly. Called Sears and they said it would be a charge for the controller board and the service. Checked on-line and found it was a common problem and began discussions with sears until they finally released the recall information.
Then the Spin cycle started sounding as though the Washing Machine was going to take off into ordbit. Whem the repair tech arrived and took ten minutes to install the controller board, he admitted the sound is the bearings in the tub are going out and need to be replaced. Three years (possibly 4) old and the bearings are now going? We scheduled an appointment (he carried no parts because they are contract repair to sears. The tub has a 10 year warrantee but the service is 137.00 labor. I called sears to inquire about letting go of the service fees since it appears it is a manufacture problem and the person (Casey) I spoke with acted like I was speaking a foriegn language and did not understand what I was asking and tranfsferred me to the thrid party service group who finally understood and told me I had to call sears to get the charges dismissed. Start of the run around tactic.
Seems Sears has lost the customer satisfaction direction and do not want return business or favorable recommendations. After I get this fixed, if anything else goes, it will be time to look into some of the class action suits against them, and pledge to get rid of this trach and never buy from them again. They support nothing, especially their customers.
