Worst Service Ever
This was the second and final time this will ever happen again. Besides waiting around with my small child for about 20min, before anyone acknoleged me and saw what I needed, I waited 2 hours for my tire to be changed which was fine. *But it was completed and nobody came and told me or gave me my keys which infuriated me because it was 25-30min earlier. That happened to me once before and still their was nobody taking responsibility. I asked for the manager and they told me he was busy, well so was I. My little girl was covered in sweat. I'm so angry that nothing or nobody gave a damn. Their was nobody in charge apparently, and I will make sure everybody knows what has happened for the second time. Nobody wants to be there longer than they need to, especially due to the fault of lazy employees.
If I dont hear back from anyone soon, I will proceed with my complaint higher up the chain.

Scam
In April 2008 I purchased 4 tires with installation and Road Hazard Coverage. They were 65, 000 mile Bridgestone Weatherforce P22560T16. They cost $85.99 ea and Road Hazard cost $8.60 ea.
The mileage on the vehicle was 22, 421 mi. Yesterday June 24, 2010 I encountered unknown object while traveling which in turn punctured my rear passenger tire. When I went to Sears to see about a repair I was informed that I could purchase a new Tire at a prorated cost of aproximately $87.00 Dollars as the tire which was damaged was not repairable. At this point I am not sure what road hazard coverage is good for except to gouge the consumers mind or piece thereof. These tires only have 17, 000 miles of wear on them. The reprehensiblity of finagling their way out of honoring the coverage which I duly purchased actually does not surprise me but it sure does tick me off. In the meantime I have no spare tire.( One more little piece of mind)

Beware
Took my car to Sears with a nail in my tire since I was already going there to buy a refrigerator. Before they accepted the job I told them that the car had a new set of wheels on it and asked them if they could do the repair without scratching them. After they finished, I drove my car out of the shop and pulled over to inspect the wheel and found they had scratched it in two places. I immediately went back to the service desk and told the manager they had scratched my wheels. The manager on duty took a quick look and told me there was nothing they could do and a manager would call me on Monday morning. I called twice Monday morning and received no response so I decided to drive down there. The manager came out and seemed pretty angry about the whole thing. Funny, I thought I was supposed to be the angry one here. She barely said anything and had the assistant manager do most of the talking. Upon looking at the wheels and waiting for the manager to smoke a cigarette behind the shop, they took pictures of the wheel, had me give a written statement and told me the insurance claims person would contact me.
The insurance claims person from who knows where called the other day investigating the incident. It felt more like an interrogation. It was pretty obvious who he was working for and who's side he was on. It seemed like he was going on information given from employees who weren't even working that evening. I was told they denied any wrongdoing and found dirt covering the scratches. I'm sure they did, it had been almost two days since the incident and it was raining the day they finally took a look at the damage. I was told to get two estimates and fax them to this guy, which I did the next day.
After buying a $1500 refrigerator, this is how I am rewarded? So much for the "Satisfaction Guaranteed" banner above the service desk. So, after one week, there has been no resolution. Consider this a warning. If you like your car, do yourself a favor and take it to an honest shop with skilled mechanics and not Sears Auto Center.

Unsatisfactory Service or lack of service
I took my car in to have tires rotated and balanced and for a brake inspection. I heard a noise and wanted the car to be checked over and while I was there get my tires rotated and balanced since I purchased the tires through Sears. Long story short. Tires were never rotated and balanced although they offer free rotation and balance when tires are purchased there. They claimed they didn't need to be...isn't that the point to keep them from "needing to be". Secondly, they claimed the struts were the cause of the noise and that the brakes were fine. I believed them and left. A month passed and I had the car checked over again. It was my brakes pads. They were bad and causing the noise by stripping my rotor. I found out how to tell by looking at the brakes with a flashlight while the car was sitting in my driveway. It's not hard to tell and the so called "brake guy" that said my brakes were fine obviously is just plain LAZY!!! Thanks for the lack of safety Sears provided me and my family!!!

Irresponsible Service
On 11/03/2008, I went to Sears in Cupertino to get four tires replace on my car. At the time, the service person recommended the Road Hazard Plus Agreement and I purchased it. The total cost was $511.76.
I have noticed the driver side rear tire had been losing air slowly but I usually could just pump the air and it was fine to drive for another two or three week before it got low again.
Since my commute to office is long, I decided to have Sears to take a look at it on 11/15/2009. If indeed it was a flat tire, Sears should be able to fix it and under the road hazard plus agreement I would pay nothing.
Two hours later, I went back to pick up the car. The service person told me that the tire was good and the repair was done to fix the flat. It was all good and I did not need to pay for anything.
What I did not realize that I did need to pay for something, my life almost.
As it turned out the good tire that Sears claimed to fix and good to go got totally flat on Monday when I was on the way home. I did not suspect it was the tire causing the noise. When I got home, the tire seemed to be totally flat. i called AAA to come and help me to replace the tire with the spare one. He told me that the tire was no good any more.
I drove the car to Sears after AAA put the spare on and left the car there as the store was closing. The technician called me next day and informed me that the tire was damaged and could not be repaired. I would need to get a new one. I told him to have the manager call me because Sears told me the day before the tire was good and the flat problem was fixed. Now, I was told that I needed to get a new one (and I know it would cost me two tires instead just one.)
The manager called and claimed it was nothing to do with Sears. Now, he blamed it was the manufacture's problem. If it was manufacture's problem, why was I not informed on Sunday? Why did Sears tell me now? I understand no one wants to admit he or she makes a mistake and always try to blame to someone else. Sears tried to blame it to me first, then they found out I left the car the day before for the problem that they were supposed to fix. Now they blamed it to the manufacture. I guess they thought I got the tires somewhere else. I told the manager that I got the tires at Sears. If he wanted to blame the manufacture, it was fine but Sears needs to replace it for me as I purchased four tires there.
The way Sears doing business is totally unprofessional. I almost put my life in danger not aware what they had done to the car that Sears told me the tires were fine. If something were happened on Monday, Sears would be totally liable.
All I asked now is for Sears to get my car fixed and return it to me. I just couldn’t believe Sears tried to get out of paying for the damage. If I were informed the tire was not good, I would go and get both tires replaced. Because of Sears’ ignorance and irresponsible, I got one totally damaged tire and one good one that I have to replace. And Sears tries to get out paying for anything.
If this is how Sears does business, believe me, words travel fast, especially at WWW era. For me, I would probably go to Costco for tire services now from now on despite Sears is close to where I live.

An appropirate handling of service issue
I am responding on behalf of my mother-in laws compliant. She went to The Sears Auto Center located at 4720 Third avenue in the Bronx to get a new Battery for her car. She arrived at 8:20am and requested that her battery be changed. The Auto Mechanic or attendant accessed the keys to her car and started to do the work needed to change the battery. He happen to lower the window on the drivers side. He was not aware that the window did not work correctly and would prove difficult to close. My mother in-law stated she did not mention the issue with the window as they were only going to chang the battery. The attendant then told her he needed to lower the window in order to change the battery which made no sense. The attendant then tried to close the window and was not able to. My mother-inlaw then requested to speak with a supervisor whom she waited for nearly two hours. The supervisor then delegated to the staff that they open the door and try to get the window to close. The door was opened and taken apart, but unfortunately nothing they did worked. They sent my mother-in-law away who was upset and crying with a window that would not close. They did however charge her for the battery and the labor.
She called her oldest son for assistance who directed her to a place that he knew would be able to fix the window. She was told by them that the window had a minor defect but when the Sears attendants or mechanics took the door apart and tried to repair the window more damage was done. She now has to bring her car back to them tomorrow so they can complete repairs of the window.
I would apprecaite a response to my compliant from a Sears administrative personal. My mother in-law is a senior citizen and enjoys shopping at Sears all the time, she always comments on the great service, and assistance and service from the staff at Sears.

Customer Service
I would just like to say that dealing with Dan Fahrendorff at the Rice St location has been a joy!
What a professional, what a great place to have your vehicle serviced! I would highly recommend Dan and the Rice St. Sears Auto Center in St Paul MN.
Dan is a seasoned veteran who knows cars and he explains things thoroughly and in simple to understand language. Sears is lucky to have this guy!

Tire Installation
Our Ford Escape needed new tires. Due to the Economy we were only able to afford 2. 2 days before payday we had a flat and had to put on the "donut". When payday arrived we drove to Sears in Danville, IL 25 minutes away. We told the attendant we were only able to afford 2 tires and wanted to come back next payday to get 2 more. After they put the vehicle on the lift the tire technician informs us he can't replace just 2 tires. It is too unsafe for him to let us leave. After several minutes of arguing with him and the attendant that letting us leave with the donut on is more safe our pleas are not answered. I was even willing to sign a waiver releasing them from liability.
My wife and I managed to scrounge up enough money to get 4 tires on credit. I think this was Sears motive as they kept saying "if you put it on your Sears card you can get all 4".
During the two hour wait to get the tires replaced I even notified store security of a teenage boy stealing some DVDs.
After all of this I complained on the Sears web-site, and was told I would receive a call from the store manager. Weeks later i have not received a call. My dad was a Sears card holder even before magnetic stripes were put on cards. I am seriously considering never stepping foot in a Sears store again.

add on charges
During a recent visit to have new tires installed, the salesman outlined charges that were extra.New valves and stems, extra.Balance new tires, extra. This is on top of tires that are way overpriced to begin with.I needed tires now.Only have a sears card to cover that much.Big mistake. After tires were installed in much more time than was promised, the bill had a $100.00 LABOR FEE! This was not discussed prior to the billing transaction. This salesman was good.He not only recommended a sears exclusive tire, he charged me for istallation also. That is ok. Sears auto center has made their last dime off of me.

service not done according to what I paid for
I had an oil change done at Sears automotive n 12/27/08 and part of the oil change service is to have the oil replaced, filter replaced and a 24 point inspection where the customer is notified if there is some sludge build up. Well, I did have some sludge build up and apparently that is the reason why my vehicle broke down n 1/18/09 after 14oo miles because sears and their insurance (which by the way will never call you back no matter how many times you try to get a hold of them) say my oild was burning. I have my car a 2004 Toyota Matrix at a nearby Toyota dealership and the mechanics there tell me that I should have been notified about the sludge that who ever changed my oil should have notified me per the service that they are supposed to provide. I have tried calling several managers and have asked to speak to someone in corporate yet Im given the runaround and do not get any call backs. I just sent an email to KGO channel 7 on your side and am waiting to get a response to them because I will go public with this. I need to have Sears reimburse me for some of the damages because they did not provide the service that I paid for. It is very apparent that my vehicle was not given a 24 point inspection. I need to speak to someone in coporate and am tired of getting the runaround. - Hugo Barrientos
