Service and Food replacement
We purchased a Kenmore Bottom Freezer Refrigerator when we moved into our new home last September. We have had it 8 months and all of a sudden the freezer thawed and the refigerator is now at 50 degrees. We lost everything and they will not replace the food we lost. If the refrigerator were older I could see the argument, but for it to die after 8 months is just not normal. There is obviously a defect somewhere. Needleaa to say, after spending an entire day on the phone with their service department ( I was continually switched to a different department and then the call was dropped) Finally, at 9pm I was able to speak to someone, only to be told that the food would not be covered and that the soonest someone could come and fix it would be a in 7 days. I told them that I had 3 small children and that I could not be a week without refrigeration, but they showed no concern and said that 7 days was the soonest to come to the house. They said that if the food had spoiled in the first 3 months that it would have been covered. I am so upset about this experience. I have been out of work and barely make ends meet. To have to restock our refigerator/freezer is definitely not in the budget. They showed no care for the situation and apparently its ok for their products to fail within a year and they have to do nothing about it. They did offer to have the technician call me 30 minutes before they arrive (as if that was some kind of perk that would help with my situation). How sad that at this day in age when companies are hurting for business that they can afford to show no compasion for their customers. I will NEVER purchase another item from Sears and will make sure to tell everyone I know about the poor customer service provided by Sears. I have always shopped at Sears and thought of them as a company that cares about their customers. NO MORE!! Do yourselves a favor and stay away from anything they tell you and realize that they truly do not stand behind their products.

range top oven
We purchased a Kenmore electric range model 790 one year ago. The glass top cracked and Sears said sorry, not covered. This seems to be a recurring problem with Kenmore. We also purchased a Kenmore washer and dryer which absolutely was a piece of junk. We had it replaced four times within two weeks, this was top of the line model. All four did not work. Finally, we just returned them and purchased an LG model which by the way is awesome and actually works like it should. Do NOT BUY KENMORE ANYTHING!!! Sears will not replace glass top on oven. Well, if we pay another 500.00 they will, figure that. We called a appliance store and had a technician come out. They stated the tops were covered on all other ranges for five years, but Sears said they would not cover it except for ONE year. Doesn't make sense.
