Bad service
Last Aug. 2010, I purchased a Sears Kenmore Refrigerator, 21 cu. ft. and now Nov. 8th the appliance is NOT WORKING and I lost all my food products, both frozen and other foods which has totaled over $200. in loss to me. A repair man is taking over two week s to come to look at the problem and in the meantime, I have been purchasing ice to keep minimum foods from spoiling. What can you do to help us. We are 90 and 84 yrs. old. Thankyou.

Will not freeze items
I purchased refrigerator for the garage in March 2010 which is not heated. It replaced a well working Whirlpool but with advertising of more efficient models today. I bought one. Little did I know if room temperature goes below 40 degrees the compressor may not work with the new refrigerate. Well it did get cold last month (jan) as all the food in freezer was soft to touch, I opened a bag of pork chops and it was bad. I had to throw over $100 worth of food. I called Sears and they knew this was a problem and recommended a heater coil. I have no ideal how to hook heater coil with the direction given, Also the heater coil cost was about 35 bollares after shipping. Customers should be warned abouth outside temperatures can affect cooling

Delivery/Service
I bought a Sears Kenmore French Door Refrigerator on January 15, 2011. They would not be able to deliver it until February 2, 2011. Well, our area had a bad snow/ice storm so they could not deliver it. Okay, I can understand that. So it was rescheduled for delivery on February 4, that day too came and went with no delivery. Okay, maybe they were a little behind. They rescheduled for Sunday, February 6 between 11:00 and 1:30. Sunday at 1:30 comes but no Sears delivery. I call and am told that they tried to deliver but no one was home. What? We were there the entire time WITH the garage door open waiting for the delivery truck. Believe me, no truck stopped anywhere near my house. Yet, I am told that they will not be able to deliver my fridge until the following Wednesday. Wait, I was here, you were not! Why do I have to wait another 3 days? What has happened to customer service? I guess I don't want their fridge after all.

applicance lasted 6 years
So...
Has Sears ever responded to any of these complaints? Has anyone hear ever gotten statisfaction?
Right now I am trying to calm my mother because she is so upset about lack of concern and service we have received from Sears. My mother is 83 and has been shopping at Sears for probably several decades. However, as of this weekend she will no longer buy anything from Sears, or set foot in a store again. And this boycott will include the entire family. It is really unfortunate -- not for Sears -- they couldn't care less; but for my mother, because this generation and folks of this age take betrayal and arrogance to heart.
Briefly, what is wrong and continues to be wrong with our Kenmore refrigerator, and just after 4 years (the refrigerator - not a Kenmore - we had before this one last 20 years!) is that 1) the compressor had to be replaced last year; 2) two weeks ago the entire refrigerator turned into a freezer; repair service man came, replaced the thermostat, didn't check it and therefore it still is a deep freeze. Eggs, milk, lettuce, everything frozen and ruined.
If all this weren't bad enough, we waited for 10 days for the first service call and now after he couldn't fix it, we put in another call but must wait another 10 days for the second service call. We cannot shop or put anything that will be ruined in the refrigerator. What if we had small children in the house and needed to keep a well-stocked refrigerators, or had a big party over this weekend. It could have been disastrous.. I've complained to Sears but it doesn't seem like anyone really cares. So this is my next best thing---venting on this site.

3 times down in 1year - no replacement
Refrigerator down third time in 9 months. called Sears. They say they won't replace and will send out tech. Same problem each time. 1-800-4my-home repair phone does not work 6 times before getting through. Then talk to som asshole from India. Then technician who wanted to wait another day. Escalated problem to some asshole who took info and then poroceeded to conveniently drop my call. No way to get back to same person but they had my number. But they did not call me back.
DO NOT BUY KENMORE PRODUCTS! SHITTY QUALITY, LOUSY SERVICE, WARRANTY IS BULLSHIT!

BURN MARK ON VINYL FLOORING
I PURCHASED A KENMORE REFRIGERATOR FROM SEARS BALTO.MD. ON AUGUST 2006. THUS FAR IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE. I PULLED THE REFRIGERATOR AWAY FROM THE WALL THIS WEEK AND FOUND I HAVE A SCORCH MARK ON THE FLOOR UNDER WHERE THE COMPRESSOR WOULD BE. THE REPAIR MAN THAT CAME OUT SAID DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. IT WON'T START A FIRE. THIS HAS CHANGED THE COLOR OF MY VINYL FLOORING AND I'M WORRIED THAT IT COULD START A FIRE AT SOME TIME. Fraud and scam
Bought a Sears Kenmore Fridge back in November of 2006. Stopped working at x-mas, yes, a month after the one-year warranty. (By the way, since when did we start assuming appliances such as a Refrigerator were only good for a year?). So, I figured I was screwed and chocked it up to bad luck on my part, and went and bought another, this time with my partner buying the service warranty. OK, so I thought it was just back luck, and gave em the benefit of the doubt.
Well, I thought I might try to have it fixed on my own dime. So, last week I had the local technician (RECOMMENDED BY THE LOCAL SEARS, MIND YOU) come and give me an assessment for cost of fixing it. I have kept it stored under cover on the back porch for a few months now.
He took one look, and asked when I had had it repaired. Never, of course, for I hadn't. In one year? "Well, look here--that is a repair." And sure as $^% in the back of this still clean, brand spanking new clean fridge was the very obvious evidence of a poor attempt at repairing the dryer part of the cooling system. Keep in mend these copper pipes are small and take lots less heat to solder and fix, and the quarters are/can be tight back under there...
Not only was the tube coming from the dryer damaged, but wires behind it were burnt bare from the torch that was used. I have done enough plumbing in my life to see and agree with him that someone botched the job, AND did not notify me that it was a REPAIRED APPLIANCE that they were selling me.
That is fraud, people. Fraud. Turns out that he would bet his entire 20-something career that SEARS fixed it and then sold it to me. This is a Sears recommended repairman, did I already mention that? Called Sears--they gave me the BS runaround and ultimately told me I was out of luck because they weren't called within the warranty period to fix it.
Hmmm... and I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Not now. Not after what I have found out about this appliance. I will be notifying BBB, and others. Meantime, I am telling everyone, and spreading the news of their corruption and HORRIFIC service.
And I am canceling my card, of course.

Sears service/repair of refrigerator
The refrigerator in the unit that I rent has not been cooling properly. My food and milk spoils in a few days.
The landlord blames me, and says that I have too much in the freezer compartment. He suggested getting rid of some of the frozen items. My defense is that the freezer is not overly stuffed. He said he'd have someone look at it.
One evening I realized that someone had been in my apartment to see the refrigerator, because items next to the refrigerator had been moved. Then I noticed a memo on the refrigerator that says
"PLZ remove 1/2 items in Frezzer, Refer cooling Normal, Poor Air Flow. Thz Sears" .
I did not believe that this memo was from a repair person. How could a refrigerator repair person misspell freezer? Aside from the misspelling, the comment left echoed of my landlord's words.
I called Sears the next day and someone told me that the work order mentioned that the refrigerator is 14 years old, and that something was sealed. He then asked if the refrigerator was still not working.
When I asked for a copy of the work order, he transferred me back into phone automated la-la land. Finally I got a hold of a live person who claimed she could not hear me, then could not find any information on the service I was asking about. When I insisted that I just spoke with someone who found record of the service, she agreed that a service person was at my apartment between the hours of 8 and 5 the previous day, but that she could not tell me anything about the repair, and that the previous person should not have either.
They should provide a copy of the service order to the user of the refrigerator via mail, at least.

All broken shelves!
I bought a new Kenmore refrigerator-side by side silver and black for $1027.99 on 9/30/06. In Jan 07 I mailed a letter to Sears advising that a shelf has broken and fallen off. No response. 2 more shelves broke and fell and now all the shelves on the door are breaking and falling down.
