Repair Service
My experience with Sears Customer Service was beyond a nightmare. Sears has completely lost a customer.
Phone Service Complaint, 2. Website Complaint, 3. Refrigerator Complaint, 4. Scheduling Repair Complaint - 8 hour window!! I purchased their warranty plan. 2 weeks for appt - 8 hours window for a repair, the tech guy shows up late, he fixed the leaking and break the freezer and now it has stopped cooling. Call for service again and wait 7 - 10 days for a service call even though I have a service contract. The solution is -- NO MORE Sears appliances!!... OR PURCHASED THEIR WARRANTY PLAN.

No Customer Service
I will never purchase another Sears/Kenmore product again. I used the self-cleaning feature on my stove for the first time and it scorched/discolored/yellowed the front door panel. What is even worse than that is that you cannot get a human being to speak to other than the ones that parrot back what you are saying and apologize but don't give you a shred of advice on how to fix the problem.

Sears/Kenmore should be ashamed of themselves for not putting a disclaimer in the booklet that comes with the product that the self-cleaning feature may ruin the outside of the stove. Poor, poor service. Do not buy Sears/Kenmore products.

Horrible Experience
So I had my heart set on a certain treadmill which was displayed on the floor in the fitness section of the store. The salesman on the first day was helpful and my girlfriend and I decided to take a day to do some more research to make sure that the $2000.00 we were ready to spend was worth it.

We come back the next day to purchase the treadmill. We didn't receive service or even a glance from a sales person for 20 minutes. We finally go and search for one who was nice enough but not too extremely helpful. We inform him that we want to get the particular treadmill displayed on the floor. We applied for credit, because according to the sales person we would have interest free financing for 12 months. We were made to fill out the finance forms first before we proceeded with the order. When we attempted to make the order, the sales person stated that he cannot order it and there is no way of telling when they will try and order that particular treadmill again. No answers whatsoever. So he tries and gets a so-called "Fitness Specialist" over to assist who "claims to know people" to try and help us out. Sales person disappears at this point cause he's pretty much not helping matters be resolved. The "Specialist" attempts to make some phone calls and feeds us a bunch of BS about how he can probably get answers the next day and keeps trying to sell us on a different brand or different type with similar features. We came into the store knowing what we want, so we requested that we just purchase the floor model. We were told that we cannot purchase the floor model because the store manager doesn't allow it. What the hell?! Why do you have it displayed than?! Needless to say it was extremely frustrating, so we decide that we are going to purchase an outdoor wicker type storage bench for our patio. Apparently THAT takes two weeks because they have to order that as well. So I ask, "can't we just take the floor model?" The answer is a "no" with a polite laugh to follow.

All I know is that I will NEVER shop at Sears again, they have frustrated me to the point of disbelief. Why the hell do you keep products on the floor if you don't even sell them, don't know when they will be in stock, and take two weeks to receive even smaller items that SHOULD be in stock.

You are ridiculous!! So I took my business elsewhere. Oh, and I received free shipping for the same price you were offering. Sears, you have been a tremendous disappointment and I will never be your customer again. Hopefully you fix your system because frustrated customers do not spend money at your store. I was willing to pay top dollar elsewhere given your poor performance.

no advertised item
Sears recently advertised a dyson sweeper sale with a super price on one model, I called to make sure this model was available and was told yes.
I was the first person in the store the day the sale started surprise no dyson sweeper dc17 model was available. I was told I could pay for one and they would order me one so I did. I got a automated call from Sears today to tell me my sweeper was not available and they would refund my money. I should have known better Sears has let me down too often. There is a reason they WERE the biggest retailer.

I am totally disgusted with Sears
I am totally disgusted with Sears. My husband and I have furnished four homes with all new appliances with Sears including four washer & dryers, stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, power tools of every kind you can think of.

We have two homes in Maui, Hawaii and in Olace, Kihei, and two homes in Rockport, Texas. You can find the sales on your files under our name starting in 2005.

We purchased a washer dryer and the washer needed someone to come out and repair it after only 3 months.

Now a year and a half later -- only a couple of months past the warranty expired -- they refuse to help us in any way without paying for someone to come out.

They refuse to take it back and give us a better model even though we would pay the added expense, and they refuse to give us a deal on any other models.

So from now on, I will never step foot in any of their stores again.

After thousands of dollars of merchandise you think that they would want to help us out in order to keep us happy.

It's a dryer -- for crying out loud, it's not one of the side by side $1, 700 refrigerators we bought in the last year.

Oh by the way, all of these products have been purchased in the last two years.

Now we have to pay for the renters' cloths that the dryer ruined and buy a new dryer.

Not at Sears! I am also going to cut up my Sears Card.

Sears Home Improvement Center failed to improve any replacement windows that it promised to improve
I have an addition built onto the back of my home. I purchased this home two years ago. There were two support beams that were rotted and in need of replacing prior to installing new windows.

The Sears Home Improvement Center salesman that came out told me that the repairs would need to be done prior to measuring the opening for the windows.

This process dragged on for at least two months because the "job" wasn’t big enough for someone to bother with. Once I finally got a contractor out to look at the repair work, the damage was found to be more extensive than expected. Carpenter ants were discovered.

The entire back end of the first floor of my home had to be ripped out and repaired. My home has been open and exposed to the elements since last summer. I explained this to the salesman and told him once I got the repair work done I would be contacting him to come out to take the final measurements.

Every time I called the salesman he never answered his phone nor did I receive a return call.

Due to an illness with the contractor and a death in my family, this process took some time to complete.

Once they were done with everything the contractor could do, work came to a standstill. They couldn’t proceed until the windows were installed.

I called the salesman to have someone come out to measure the new opening. No one ever came out. I called Sears to inquire about what happened and they had no record of my appointment.

Another appointment was made and I was told the individual would be at my home within a certain time frame. This didn’t happen and I had to get back to work. I called the installation once I got to work and they said they were planning on coming after the time originally discussed.

But, they never bothered to call to tell me of their new plans. So, we arranged for them to come back out the following day. I left work again to meet them at my home and they had already come and gone by the time I arrived. Again, not bothering to call me.

REMEMBER --- I’m taking off work for this each time! WHY?

Several weeks went by and I finally called to inquire as to where the windows were. The same gentleman, Larry, who came out to take the measurements told me that they would be arriving within days and they would call me to set up a time to come and install.

More time passed and I called back. I kept asking to speak to someone other than Larry because he was difficult to deal with and clearly not trustworthy. The gatekeepers at various numbers I tried kept giving me to him. I was told by Larry that they were on "the truck" ready to be unloaded in the warehouse. And, again, they would call me when they were ready to be delivered.

I called back days later and THANK GOD this Larry character was on vacation and his boss spoke with me. After leaving me on hold for a considerable amount of time, he came back and told me he couldn’t find any evidence of my order.

HUM!!! The windows were not on any truck and as far as he could tell they had never been ordered.

I proceeded to tell this man that "Larry" needed to be fired!!! He had blatantly lied to me about everything. What did he expect to gain? Did he think I was going to disappear and never call back?

Moving right along, the windows came in and were installed. I had to let my original contractors go due to the time it took to get the windows delivered and installed. They had nothing to do and went on to other jobs.

Once I got two quotes from building contractors to have the repair work completed and the windows enclosed I was told that the frame that was installed by Sears which would be the knee wall was too wide for the windows.

I didn’t even want a knee wall. I wanted floor the ceiling windows. I also asked to see what the windows would look like before they were installed. By the time they came I didn’t care. I just wanted the room enclosed due to safety and energy usage reasons.

The wood frames were wider than the windows and they didn’t have a lip at the bottom of the frame to catch water fall off. I needed windows for vinyl siding not insert windows. The way the windows and siding are installed there isn’t any place for the water to run off except for inside my home behind the siding. This obviously isn’t acceptable. I was told that they could caulk the windows and this also isn’t acceptable since caulk doesn't last and I’d be dealing with rotted wood and insect infestation all over again.

I called the customer service center and a very rude Indian woman said that I signed for the windows so there wasn’t anything they could do.

Yes, I did sign for these windows, but I am not a contractor or a builder. I hired a "so called" expert in the industry to make the right decisions for me. A window is a window to me.

I was told that someone would call me back within three business days. I am most confident given my past experience with the local Sears store that this matter will never get resolved much less with me receiving a phone call from them.

These windows aren’t cheap!

The project coordinator ignores our calls
We ordered new kitchen cabinets for installation by Sears. They were promised for completion by February 02.

It is now February 03. The cabinet doors are warped and crooked. The appliances were left uninstalled. The project coordinator ignores our calls. The contractor laughs us off and gives lame excuses. He was rude to my wife.

They are already 2-1/2 hours late for a 9:00 appointment.

We are thoroughly unhappy with the lack of results and cooperation.

This is the last time we contract with Sears.

I cannot get the Sears rebate center to give me my rebate money
I cannot get the Sears rebate center to give me my rebate money. They say -- every time I call -- that I will get it in 2-3 weeks. I sent it in during January of 2007. I don't believe I will ever get it.

They said they don't fill rebate requests unless the customer calls in to complain that it was not received!

What nonsense is that?

No more Sears products in my house.

I am very disappointed with Sears return policy
I am very disappointed with Sears return policy. I recently purchased an air conditioner. After installing the unit in my work shop, I found the unit wasn't large enough to cool the area.

I looked high and low for my receipt, but to no avail. So I called Sears to explain. I was told, yes I could return the unit and receive an in store credit as my refund.

I drove the 40 miles to return the unit and was then told I was not going to be able to return the A/C because I have no receipt.

I am 72 years young and have purchased many many tools, (major tools for my cabinet making business) for 50 years plus. Now I am stuck with an air conditioner I cannot use, the BTU are not enough, mind you I live in Florida and the temp in the summer is about 95 degree everyday, with high humidity.

I purchased all of my appliances through out my life at Sears, and 3 years ago I purchased all appliances for the new home I built. Do they think I walked out of their store with the A/C under my "heavy coat?

I was careless to have lost my receipt, yes indeed, but I was told Sears would give me an in-store credit if I wanted that. This was fine. I am upset that I drove the miles to be rudely told that I would not receive any refund or credit.

I looked to see where I could complain about this, and came up with no place to vent my disappointment to the Sears people. I will never purchase another tool or appliance from Sears.

I will not be purchasing anything from Sears again. I will never return to Sears.

I will take my business elsewhere. What ever happened to good old Sears and Roebuck I used to know so well and trust?

After an evening of searching the Internet to find where to complain about this I think I have finally found an address to Sears to express my disappointment.

Bad vent cleaning service
I DO NOT recommend Sear’s vent cleaning service. I first called for a “free estimate” but the day they were suppose to come out I received a call stated that they would not come out for the estimate unless I was willing to agree to the work over the phone. I agreed, that was my first mistake. They started the work and while they were removing the bathroom vent the worker dropped it and broke a crystal vase and bowl. He surged his shoulders and ask for a trash can. The gas power machine they use to run the vacuum cleaner also left a big black spot in my drive way. Overall they did a poor job for $850. I used Sear’s online “survey” to complain but never received a call or email.
