Purging warranty records, refuses to honor warranty
Years ago I purchased a home improvement project from Sears, a permanent coating for my house eaves and pillars with a lifetime warranty. It is now peeling and cracking. I called Sears to get it repaired. I was told they could see in their system that I had had it done and the year but they were not required by law to keep copies of original paperwork or warranties past 5-7 years. Since they no longer had a copy of the warranty, I would have to produce it in order for them to repair it. I cannot find it and I assumed that such a reputable company would surely keep such things on file. According to Sears, the burden of proof is on the homeowner, and if the homeowner cannot produce the original paperwork, they will not honor lifetime warranties once the information has been purged from their system.

rude manager
After finllally getting my washer replaced which was on warranttly. And after a month of waitting for parts. I call you, yes, I was upset but wouldn't you after not having clean clothes for a month. I live outside town and if I wanted to go to a laundrry mat I wouldn't of gotten a washer. I went in only to find out I had to pay an extra $117. 49 to get a washer of equal ability instead of the manager explaining it to me she was short and very rude. I will never shope at a Sears again. And I plan on telling others too.

a word to the used and manipulated
Hello to fellow manipulated!
I am a former empolyee ofthe sears/kmart corporation and I understand what other former employees are talking about i to was terminated for scanning rewards cards after asking a customer if it was ok to try and get christmas presents because the amount on my paycheck barley paid for rent and i didn't want to tell my family i couldn't get them anything even though i was working so i asked the customers and 2 days before christmas my manager had me go get carts and fill the front of the store and then called me back to the office and drilled me about stealing and i didn't understand what they were talking about becuase i didn't see anything i was doing as stealing. so they told me i was lying about it and my store manager fired me in a santa hat for stealing with no explanation or second chance and told me everything would be fine i paid them what they said i owed them just for the fact of not wanting to look at them anymore now my schedualed pay day was on the 24th the next day and i thought everything would be takin care of but they deposited my check in to my account still and on my birthday i got a letter saying that i owe them that check i was unaware that this was an over pay i though it was my first week of pay since i never got paid for that and now i get a letter from their lawyer saying that they want to take me to court for shoplifting i didn't shop lift anything i don't steal it's against my being that's why i asked customers if they were cool with what scanning a card. so now i owe them 341 because of their mistake and they say 275 on top of that and if i don't pay then it goes to collections but i don't have a job so my question is where do they expect me to get all this money? am i suppoesed to pull it out of my ass? no so now my life is screwed becuase i tryed to get some christmas presents for my family...

Canceled Credit Card
On Jan. 26 2011 I attempted to make a purchase at a local Sears store. I was informed that my credit account was closed because of inactivity. Apparently the card was not used since 2007. I have had a Sears Credit card since 1977. Since I had to undergo Cancer treatments during the time period of inactivity my card is canceled.
Please re-instate my credit card. It's the human thing to do.

Service technician never arrived
On 1/22/11 I agreed to pay $96.00 for a home service appointment to repair a Sears Craftsman snowblower. The window of service was 1:00pm to 5:00pm on 1/25/11. The service team never arrived and I lost half a day of work. I complained to their email and the response was "Oh no" we are sorry you no longer want to be on our email list. Sears is a pathetic fraud.

Refrigerator repair rip off
Called Sears repair because water was coming out the back of refrigerator and ice maker was not working. Sears serviceman quoted $200 to repair. He then put some hot water on the supply line and declared it fixed. He was in the house a total of 15 minutes. Some hourly rate. On top of that, it was broken again two hours later. They wouldn't come back for three days so my wife fixed it herself with a hair dryer in two minutes. I will not shop at Sears again. Calls to supervisors were basically answered with "tough luck sucker"

Poor service
One month ago I called Sears to request technician service for my treadmill, I requested the appointment for today January 13, to assure I could be more available to receive what I requested. Sears does not’t call to confirm appointments (bad policy), so I called their customer service line yesterday (Jan 12) to assure appropriate use of my time. In my call, I was told by customer service personnel that they don’t give time appointments in Puerto Rico, and that they recommend: "I should take my day off and rest while they arrive".(abusive) wait at least from 8am to 5pm.You know what? I did, I woke up 2:30 am, I went to start my work at the hospital, (doctor) left some things done, and traveled back home to beat home at 8:00am as they told me; then I stayed at home until 5:30pm and they never arrived after nine hours . During this period I called twice a 1 800 number and I received the same response. “there is nothing we can do, for Puerto Rico, there are no hour for appointments, so just wait. We cannot call the technician. Just wait. After the nine hour wait, I called again and asked for a supervisor, they made me wait in the phone, hearing music for twenty minutes finally they hung the phone. I lost nine hours of my work day just for nothing. Finally I went back to the hospital to complete my work, nine hours late. They have no respect for their clients.

tire warrenty
Bought tires from sears, with 4 wheel alignment. Less then a year later, my wife was back to sears for an oil change/tire rotation. The tech mentioned the tires were < 50 % tire trend and suggested not to rotate tires and keep best tires on front. Even though I has sears rotate tires at an earler visit, they refused to pro rate tires.
