all appliances quit this year
Want an appliance to last 2-5 yrs, buy SEARS! Because that's all you'll get if your lucky.

ALL three major appliance failed this year: refrigerator, stove, & dishwasher. But hey, the dishwasher actually failed twice: two motors.

Stove nearly set the house on fire when it quit.

ALL purchased in 2003 with a new house, first owner & only owner.

WHAT a bunch of junk. I remember the stuff we had growing up, was more like it last 20-25 yr.

Terrible experience
Bought a new Whirlpool front loading washer & dryer ($1688) from Sears on May 13, 2008. Washere vibration is beyond belief. This is even how a "technician" from Sears described it. He said these machines have 4 shocks on them but this one only has 3. Also said it looks like a lemon to me but not to repeat it. Told us to demand a new one. We called, we called & we called. They told us they had to review it before they would do anything. WHAT? The right hand does not know what the left hand should be doing let alone their own job. These men (women have at least talked to me & attempted to help) are blooming idiots. They treated us like we were less than human. They should back in to collect a paycheck. You pay, they collect & you are done. Finally a new washer was scheduled for delivery on July 1 - DAMAGED. They they had the audacity to say - "this your 3rd one?" Their notes aren't even right. Supposed to deliver new one today, July 7, 2008. Supposed to call on July 6 between 6 & 9 according to Jerimiah. No call, no nothing just out $1688. Better Business Bureau is one of todays biggest jokes. The notes & names & numbers to call for help are unending. Look like a novel. Where can we turn? No wonder this world is in the condition it is in. I even called Sears Customer Relations to complain about the people & they said they would turn the complaint over to the manager. Well, my complaint was about the manager also. So who writes him up? Maybe we could send all of them to Iraq as a secret weapon. They might just surrender to the stupidity of these idiots.

Awful place
We bought a new air conditioner/furnace in January 2007. By October, the installer had to come out, as the air conditioning unit was leaking water onto the floor by the air filter and the fan was blowing it onto the control board. They thought the problem was a clogged drain pipe going out of the house, so they re-angled the drain pipe and they had to replace the control board as it had gotten wet. By the way, they charged us for the control board, which I found out from another tech that came out to look at our unit that they shouldn’t have. It was covered under our warranty. It also put a strain on the compressor motor, but thankfully, that didn’t need to be replaced as we caught it in time. In April of 2008, the air conditioner unit started leaking water again onto the air filter and straining the compressor motor. We turned it off immediately after hearing the motor straining and my husband looked into the unit and heard and saw water leaking from the back of the unit, near the drip pan. We again called Sears to set up an appointment to have someone come out. Sears responded immediately, BUT sent a tech to our house that said they couldn’t work on our unit because the duct work was in the way, and he was not certified to remove it. By the way, he was very nice and didn’t charge us for his time, which I understand, he could have. The original installer used our existing duct work when he installed our new air conditioning/furnace. I have tried numerous times to schedule the installer to come back out to our home and fix this problem. They all said that they were faxing over a work order to the installer (Halls) and that they (Halls) would call us within 24 hours to schedule with us. Since May 28, no one has contacted us. We even called Halls, and they say they have never received the order. When the problem started our unit was under 1-year-old. Now it’s getting into the “over 1-year-period” and no one seems to want to take responsibility and help us out. They have given us the run-around, quite frankly, we are “pissed” We are tired of being told we have to call different numbers because of the age of our air conditioner. By the time we get any help, our warranty will be expired!!

Terrible treatment
I bought sears appliances because of their long standing service reputation.WEll now, with a Stack washer/dryer bought at Sears, this machine broke and flooded my house several times and when I called for service, they told me I had to wait 2 weeks for a repair person. This happened after the same part broke twice and my floors were covered by water. No consideration for the emergency or the fact that they had been here 6 months before to "fix" this problem. I will never buy Sears again, the treatment was terrible.

Awful experience
I have an extended warranty on my washer. I put a call in to sears on July 2. They asid the earliest they could come is on the 8th. That day came and went they never showed up. I called the next day they said there is nothing they could do but come on the 17th. He came that morning and supposedly fixed the problem. Later that day I tried to do laundry it didn't work. I called sears again. They said the earliest appointment is on the 29th. I have been sending my laundry out since the 2nd. We are a family of b8 people. My 4 deaughters change every hour on the hour. They don't give the customer priority when tghey don't show or when they don't fix the problem. I feel that they should give me preference since I have been waiting since July 2nd.

website NOT accurate, hence wrong item, did NOT refund return shipping
I purchased a lawnmower bag, from the online parts website. The site CLEARLY stated 'frame, grassbagbag' were together... Received ONLY frame, which I did NOT need, only needed bag... So called, NO results, but returned the frame with a letter, INCLUDING copy of inaccurate webpage and requested BOTH sending and return shipping as it was THEIR error... I get credit for the item but they ignored the request for the sending and return shipping, which was $8.99 PLUS $26 to return, because it was oversized box. I am FURIOUS and will NOT shop SEARS again... This is my THIRD incident THIS year...I am DONE with that place!

Scam and cheating
I have a warranty with sears when I purchased my washing machine last year. Last week my washing machine broke. I called sears on 7/26/08 to schedule an appointment to fix my machine. They told me that the next available date would be 8/2/08. So I had to drag my clothes to the laundrymat for 1 week. Then I get a call on 8/1/08 from Sears to tell me that they have to reschedule my appointment for 8/8/08 because there are no availabel techs. I told them that I wanted to be compensated for my gas and the cost of washing my clothes for another week. They said that that is not in their policy. I then told them that I no longer wanted the product since I am still paying on it on their credit card and they told me that they would not do that. I would have to get a rent-a-washer that they would pay for. I told them it would cost me more money to hire a plumber to disconnect mine and connect the rent-a-washer. Would you please help me to get some reimbursement for my inconvenience and the cost of washing my clothes and not to mention the gas it is costing me to go to and from the laundrymat.
