double billing
purchased a craftsman string trimmer on friday. sears charged my visa account twice. called customer service. sears did not admit to the mistake, but said it would take as long as five days to fix after they checked it out. sears charged my account within 24 hours of the purchase. sears is happy and quick to take my money; not so much when returning it.

Terrible company
Suffice it to say that Sears intentionally and systematically offers home delivery and installation rebates that they do not honor. Isn't this a fraudulent business practice? Many roadblocks are thrown up around the rebate application process that are frustrating and humiliating. This is my 3rd experience jumping through the "on-line and telephone" hoops to try and get a resolution. My daughter is dealing with the same problems re: "free home delivery and installation" of a gas range purchased in Nov. for Thanksgiving. WHERE ARE THE LAWS PROTECTING CONSUMERS FROM THESE "BAIT AND SWITCH" GREEDY & PREDATORY PRACTICES??? Since our politicians are bought and paid for by major corporations, forget contacting them. The media scrambles for advertisings dollars and have decimated consumer fraud reporting... guess we'll all have to come together and boycott these @#$$%$#@ one day... SURE WE WILL!!! A BUNCH OF DOCILE SHEEP BEING FLEECED AND ACCEPTING IT WITHOUT EVEN A "BAAAAA!"

Repair service
Sears loves to sell their appliances and their "extended warranties". Just don't ever expect to get any service from this warranty. Last week my washer broker, called in the repair and was told first available repair call would be in 1 wk. Today the repair man showed up, ran a diagnostic check and said all was great. Didn't even try to replicate my problem. Told me to run a load and give him a call if I had a problem. Sure enough, same problem again. Couldn't reach the repair man, called service and was told I'd need to schedule another repair call. (Now 8 days away. Meanwhile I've got a machine full of water and wet sheets. It took over 1 hr and several calls to finally find someone who would get me a repair for tomorrow. This is my last Sears appliance.

Terrible quality products
I am writing because we bought a freezer at Sears in Feb 08, by Sept. 08 they had been out to service it twice. We lost all of our food twice, with no replacement from Sears. Then in April of 09, guess what, the freezer wasn't cold again! All of our food had spoiled and blood was running out on the floor!! We called to see what Sears would do and big surprise we were out of warranty, so they weren't willing to do much of anything. We are a family of 5 and I need that freezer but also I don't trust if to keep replacing everything we have lost three times, and of course Sears isn't going to pay for it!! I can not keep replacing that food! It is too expensive to have to throw away 25 packs of meat is a little crazy when you are trying to feed three kids!! Sears won't replace the freezer and won't pay for any food loss!

Terrible experience
On 04/13/09 I had Sears Home Repair come to my home to service my riding mower which is just entering its fifth year; naturally my extended warranty had just expired. I was told that I needed a new battery, new starter, and a newly rebuilt engine. The engine alone would cost $1600; this was more than I had originally paid for the mower itself. The problem with the engine was that it needed a new governor and Sears does not repair engines; they only replace them. The "technician" told me that I had to pay $105 for the service call, but he would give me a $99 credit towards the purchase of a new riding mower from Sears. Oddly, this $99 credit was good for only two weeks and could not be used at outlet stores or on sale items. I searched around my area and found a gentleman who does small engine repair. He picked up my mower, repaired the engine, replaced the blades, changed the filters and spark plugs and returned it to me for $330. Sears doesn't fix anything, they simply want to sell you another product.

Unauthorized billing
I called sears service to request a service call for my above range samsung microwave. I answered the question asked by the appointment center. What is the item: above range microwave / manufacture: samsung Model # / Serial # my name and address: she started tell me that I have a counter top which was purchased in 1994 and that the name I gave her was wrong. I explained that the unit I am living in has been recently renovated and I am the first tenant to live here since the renovation and that all the appliance was brand new or have been purchased in the last 2 years. She repeated herself again to me and insisted it was a counter top microwave. I explained again. I then asked her to look up my name and there should be a repair log from last year on my dryer, she found that. Yet she again insisted that it was a counter top microwave. I replied if it was I would bring it in and not call for service! finally after a while she gave me a date and time which was yesturday Monday April 6, 2009 between 1:00pm and 5:00pm I left a note on the door just in case they came earlier, I got home at 12:45 from work and waited and waited and waited finally at 5:15 pm I called Sears I was down for a visit but for a range hood not a over the range microwave oven. she paged the repair person who called me back in about 30 minutes 5:45pm he told me that he was not able to be at my place till about 8:00pm and ask if I wanted him to come back on Wednesday I said NO I took time off from work today to be here and I cannot do this on Wednesday, I told him to call me before he came over he replied I need to let the department know that you still want me to come by. He showed up at 7:20pm with out calling I was sitting having dinner, I let him in. Then he took like 20 Minutes and told me that he could not fix the microwave because the repair information was for a range hood!!! He would order a megatron replacement and come back in 1 week, and I was charged $65.00 plus tax for his service!!! what a rip off...

Terrible everything
I just purchase a fridge from Sears. They brought the wrong color fridge and took my old one away. They disconnected the tubing for the icemaker and laid it in the floor, They didn't hook it back up because of sears policy if the line isn't copper they can't hook it up, even if it hooks up the same way. This open water line lay on the floor behind the fridge for 6 hour leaking down on my basement ceiling. The water was coming out of the heat lamp in the bathroom and damage to the acoustic ceiling in the workout room .They should of capped off the water line if they couldn't hook it back up. I reported to sears and they say it not there practice to cap off lines.

Scam and lies
On 4/11/09 a Sears2Go.com ad came out listing a 1468pc. tool set and storage combo model # CO505 for $494.99. On 4/13/09, the last day of the sale I tried unsuccessfully to buy it for this price. I was told it was an error and the price would not be honored. On 4/14/09 the price on Sears2Go.com was changed to $549.99. I emailed them to see if this was another mistake but got no response. On 4/15/09 I tried again to buy it but they would not deliver on the price. I contacted PriceMatch Sears who said they would not honor the price. On 4/15/09 I received an email from PriceMatch that stated after reviewing my emails they determined a Sears2Go pricing error occurred. They apologized and instructed me to place my order, respond to the email with the confirmation number, and a price adjustment would be made honoring the ad. After placing my order on 4/16/09 and emailing them back I received another email on 4/17/09 stating the order had been canceled and the offer had been retracted. However, as of 4/18/09 my money has not been returned. They stated pricing errors were rare and unintentional but posting 5 different prices on that web site in one week is not rare and emailing me stating I could buy it at this price was not unintentional. They are practicing false advertising and taking my money for a product they do not intend to deliver.
