keep changing date to repair dryer
I have bought washer, dryer, stove, refregator, freezer, lawn mower, outside building, chainsaw, took out extended coverage, but when dryer broke down, they have changed dates to fix it three times, now it will be two months. All they will say I am sorry, that doesn't fix the dryer, spent all this money with them, will not do it again, this is a $1000 machine.

aweful service
We put a refridgerater on lay away. Paid off layaway early. Now delivery date originally promised no longer possible. No one at Sears seem to care about our dilema. Fridge was on layaway for 3 weeks. How could things go south so fast!!

non-compliant
I bought a freezer from a Sears appliance store and had to pay $75.00 delivery charge but was told it would be reimbursed as it was with a debit card in the amount of $75.00. I went to use my card at the Allentown repair center last June when I had 2 sewing machines repaired and they told me I could not use it so I paid my bill of $63.58 by credit card and $73.00 in cash. I find out today that when I gave them the card they scanned it and took the whole $75.00 in addition to the amount I paid. This is very bad business and I would like to have a check in the amount of $75.00 sent to me. I am sure this is a drop in the bucket to you but when you live on social security it is a huge amount to me. I have trying to get a hold of someone at the store but have been unsuccessful.

Appointment scheduled
We have a Kenmore fridge under warranty from Sears. I need a filter (which I bought) replaced which requires removing the casing etc. They said they would be out today 3/14/11 between 1 and 5 pm. By 4.30pm (after waiting in all day) they had not arrived. I called and they said it was still on the schedule. Called again at4.45pm. Same answer. Called at 5.00pm and they said the technician could not make it. They would have to reschedule. My wife was off work today and instead of going out with her I stayed in all day waiting for this person. Very annoying. Looking for some way to really put it to them but I'll start by letting everyone know on this board that their service is awful.

Mattress Replacement Hassle
I called about 2 weeks ago and spoke to someone in Sears customer service describing how our mattress which is 2 years old is sagging in places and has lumps in the outer cover and is suddenly soft - it was a firm mattress. I was assured it would be replaced, no problem. I was contacted by the mattress warranty replacement people to whom I spoke yesterday (I had to call them back and was on hold for 25 minutes). They said that it might or might not be replaced, and sent a very detailed form to follow with instructions on taking pictures with strings and rulers. They would then review my need for a replacement and contact me later. I did not appreciate their attitude - the person to whom I spoke basically said that the other person had no business telling me that it would be replaced. I feel that a 2 year old mattress should not show this type of wear. The mattress person told me that now they recommend every 2 weeks putting the mattress sideways across the foundation and sleeping on it like that for a bit to extend the life of the mattress. A king sized mattress is not conducive to this! That is ridiculous. I want my mattress replaced without all this delay and hassles.

Water Heater
I purchased a water heater for 389.99 dollars. I was charged 10.00 for disposal of my old water heater and about 40.00 for a Jefferson County permit. Sears charged me 239.00 for installation. My complaint is I was charged an addition 150.00 for installation when the water heater was installed. The technician was at my house for about 1 hour. The total cost of installation was 389.00... This is totally unacceptable to charge 389.00 to instal the water heater which by the way is the same amount I bought the water heater for. $389.99 for a water heater & $389.00 for labor is a gross over charging by Sears. I truly hope to be contacted by someone at the complaint department to resolve this issue.

Repair/Customer Service
Had repair service appoint for between 8AM and noon. Received a call at 1134 saying he'd be here in 20 minutes. Arrived as expected. Came in, ran a diagnostic program on the machine and then asked to use my bathroom. Had my dog locked in the bathroom so told him sorry. He proceeded to run diagnostics and to clean out the drain. Showed me how I could do it myself when I asked about it. He gets done says his machine is not working to print a paper for signature of services, but all is well and it'll work fine. He leaves. As I hear him starting his van I am loading clothes into the machine. He wasn't at the end of my block yet when I try to start the machine and get the same exact error code that he was called out to fix in the first place! I immediately called the repair hotline and am told by Earla that I will have to reschedule an appointment for another day. Told her this is not acceptable as I have already spent an entire day (1PM by this time) waiting for service that was not recieved. she put a message in to the local service center that I need assistance. Asked to speak to supervisor. Earla snottily replies they'll just tell you the same thing. Asked again for a supervisor. Was put on hold for about 15 minutes and then transferred to another customer service rep (not a supervisor) and started the whole process over. Was told the earliest they could get someone out is between 3-4. OK, fine, but BY 4 because I have a funeral procession this evening. Call 8005494505 to complain about the entire experience and Roland tells me we've done all we can for you, its the best we can do and I should be satisfied that they are even able to come back out today or I can make an appointment for another day. LOUSY customer service and NOT at all acceptable! Wasted money on Sears' warranty repair contract only to discover that they do not provide repair service evidently. We'll see what happens this afternoon. :(

Stay away from these guys
I found that it did not work the end of May so I called Sears. They sent a local contractor to work on it. But after the local contractor did not figure it out what was wrong with the cooling, I was told by the contractor that they needed to order a part and come back the following week.

Then, the next week, they told me they needed a new compressor and then they will fix it.

Four weeks later, the local contractor has not come to my house to do the work. I called Sears again. They said they would contact the contractor and give me a call back.

But now this issue is not yet resolved. Someone suggested that I file a complaint form with Sears. How can I get a form to file? I could not find any telephone to call for this form.

zenith television quitting after 6months
I purchased a zenith 50 inch television in august. before the ninety day warranty replacement was up i called sears in gastonia n.c. to tell them about the plug in the back not fitting correctly, they didn't act as if it was a big problem. so i let it go . On march 2'2011 my television had no picture and only had sound in vcr mode . So i called zenith customer service and they connected me to sears customer service. I told them what had occured, so they set up an appointment to come out and check the television on march 8, 2011. the repairman checked it out and said it had to have four different parts on a television that i bought new from sears a little over 6 months ago. I only paid around 650.00 for the t.v. he left a repair order for the parts ordered and labor charges that will cost sears 1, 225.00 for the repairs . First of all i'm not happy with having to get a television repaired after 6 months of service, if i would have wanted a repaired t.v. I would have went to a used t.v. shop. I also don't know why you just want replace the t.v. instead of paying repair charges of twice what i paid for the television. I will never purchase anymore electronic from sears again and will not recommend anyone buy any electronics from sears

Stay away
I just spent at least forty minutes dealing with an excellent Sears representative named Brandon who was guiding me through the (chat line) comparative prices and deminsions of a stove top range, vent, wall oven, french door fridge with ice make and bottom storage. Without warning, I was cut off-”timed out.”
Attempts to get this information to on-line supervisor took another twenty minutes and I got sick of waiting. Called in
with my phone number, ”Zen” returned call to say that nothing could be done, but to call rennovation and start from scratch. She could not get supervisor who” would only say the same thing.” When I objected she hung up. Except for the excellent ”Brandon” no one was able to cope with anything that wasn’t scripted and the wait time was absurd.
I would not put myself through any further contact with Sears and will take what I anticipate spending-around $8-10, 000 to any one of dozens of resources. Sears has left our country.
