Delivery of Goods
I purchased a Washer/Dryer combo for a great price on 11/28/08. It was purchased at a doorbuster sale for Black Friday. As of now 2/18/09 I still have not had my washer and dryer delivered as they keep rescheduling delivery due to overselling the product. I thought products were delivered on a first-come first-serve basis but not with Sears. No information was given at the time of purchase that I would need to wait three months for delivery. The new delivery date is 3/7/09. Sears customer service is non-existent. I am currently on hold with Sears. I urge consumers to steer clear of Sears and their advertised "door-buster" sales.

FIRE
HOLY CRAP. What a piece of junk, Kenmore Stove, Model # is 790.95662103. Thankfully we (adults) were home when the kids (jr high) were making cookies. The dang stove went bezzurk, nothing we did would turn it off. The controls were stuck/frozen and panel was flashing F1. and the element was glowing bright red. The stove just kept getting hotter and hotter. It would have burned the house down had it been left. We had to rush to the electric panel to shut off the breaker. I cannot even imagine that this is a safe appliance. Model # is 790.95662103
I am calling "Handle on the LAW", may be I can find a damn good attorney if SEARS wants to play hard ball.
Can anyone remember when an appliance would last a lifetime?

Misinformation about product
Buyer Beware:
I we purchased a granite countertop from Sears and to make a very long story short here is what occured.
1. Salesman came to our house told us the following lies:
Granite was 1 1/2 inch thick (was 1 1/4 inch), never subcontracted work (always subcontracted work), install and demo would occur the same day.
2. Person measuring our countertop told us the following lies:
Granite was 1 inch thick, countertop could not be layed due to garages, and tear out could occur the same day granite was removed
What happened- Person did not come and remove our granite so the granite people had to remove it then they laid the granite. The granite layers were great but found out they also work for Lowes. (I could have saved over $2000 if I would have went with Lowes)
Our granite turned looking very good because of the granite layers inspite of Sears misrepresentations. I called Sears to tell them about this and they said, I quote, What do you want me to do about this.
I will never use Sears again...to much stress. Go with Lowes

pajamas
Recieved pajamas protocol type for christmas first of all I was told they would have draw string in pants no such thing when I tryed them on they were already ripped in the crotch and also on seam on right leg .went to bring back they said cann't return because worn once I think they were used already.So I will never BUY any sleepware from sears again and will tell all friends and neighbours that they should not buy this kind of stuff from this uncaring store again

Age discrimination
Last week at the Visalia, Ca. Sears, a much-liked manager named Shelley Jackson was fired for a contrived reason (they told her they were eliminating her position entirely); the real reason that she was let go is because she looks too old. Sears has an ongoing problem with age discrimination, and the Visalia Sears is a classic example of this.
Shelley was replaced with a 27-year-old who is in way over her head. She's a nice person, but she is not ready for a position that is as wide-ranging as the one that Shelley handled so well.

Lack of adequate repair
The power burner, three elements for three size pans, has never worked properly, the stove was replaced once the element replaced twice. Center element of the three gets extreamly hot while middle does not get hot at all. This causes burning of food at center and in some cases warping of the pan. This is a smooth top stove. Now Sears repair service says this is normal for this stove and they will do nothing. First they try to fix it now they say it is normal, I guess because they don't know how to fix it. So buyer beware if when something does not work but that is normal for the product you must live with it. They simply don't care.

Christmas gifts
I ordered 4 identical gifts for my 4 grown children in different locations. I "thought" that this was a quick and easy way to send them all a gift at Christmas. The order was placed via internet on Dec17th, I received confirmation via email that they were in stock. Then I was told that the gifts would be delivered in January on different dates. So, humbly I explained this to my family. Nothing was delivered until, Jan 19 after I had phoned customer service. I had a nice person on the phone who apologized and said I would get a gift card from Sears for this mistake on their part. Two gifts were delivered to the outlets, they were wrong, nothing that I had ordered. I phoned again, and the male in customer service told me that in order for me to talk to the previous lady, it was impossible. He continued to be rude until I told him I wanted to speak to someone with some authority, and he gave the phone to"WOW". She said that I ordered the gifts, I had to pay for them, not their fault they were late, and Sears was not in the habit of giving "free" Christmas gifts out. She made me feel like a con artist. I hung up. Jan. 30 was the last gift delivered, I told the rest of my family to send it back. my local Sears outlet promised me some information a week ago, still nothing. And I am very angry about being treated so shabbily. Is this why the big companies are going broke? Well they should. I am not finished yet with Sears.

poor incompetent and uncaring service
Sears home repair tech came out on 12/15/08 to repair my Aprilaire humidifer that is under the Sear maintenance agreement. At that time the repair tech said the humidifer was unrepairable and would turn the ticket in to have it replace
On 12/24 the cover on the item fell off and scared the devil out of my grandcildren who were here for the Xmas Holiday. On 12/26 I call Sears home repair to get an update on when they were going to replace the items since the cover fell off and the heat was not circulating in my kids upstairs bedrooms (rooms extremley cold), the heat is staying mostly in the basement.
As of today 2/2 I still do not have the item replaced. I have talked to the repair shop and keep getting transfreed to another department after department or put on hold for an hours.
On 1/23 they send another repair tech out and he too agreeed that the item was unrepairable and he called the repair shop and informed them that they need to replace the item.
My house is very very cold and my husband is going thru renal failure and had to go to the hospital on Monday, 1/26.
What do I need to do to get the work completed once and for all; I am very upset with Sears. I throught if you take out the Sear home warranty maintenance agreement you wouldn't have to go thru this.
Right now I am afaird the the entire humidifer is going to fall off of my furnance; will that cause a fire in my house

No refund on washing machine part that did not work
Our washing machine stopped working two weeks before Christmas of last year. I called Sears and scheduled an appointment for repairs. After waiting an additional two weeks, the technician stated that the problem was the water pump. He then installed the water pump and he was making sure that the pump would work. The machine did nothing. He then said it was the transmission and said it would be in excess of $500 to repair. I stated that I could get a new machine for that price. I asked him to remove the pump so that I would not be charged. He stated he could not do that. I called the home repair number back and reported the useless pump and a need for a refund. After three weeks, I finally received a phone call from Sears saying they would not give me a refund. Talk about cheated!

Haven't received a refrigerator paid in full
Mr. Johnson,
I purchased a refrigerator from the local Sears store and paid in full at time of purchase on 01/10/2009. I have yet to receive my refrigerator. I have been notified 2 times that it would be deliveried in a 4 hour span at my vacant remodeled house where I have to wait outside in the cold and no one ever showed up or had the courtsey to call and notify me that to this date 01/28/09 the refrigerator has not come in. I also purchased a microwave and a dishwasher on the same day as the refrigerator that was deliveried on a different day. The microwave was the wrong color and had to be returned. I went to the store that day and they gave me an upgrade because that had it in the right color in the warehouse.
Would you please check on this matter and let me know what I can do to get my paid for refrigerator?
