Terrible Service
Kenmore fridge/freezer breaks after 14 months. They give an 8-12 appointment. I call and call and they assure me that someone will call back, but they never do. I finally get someone at 2pm to tell me I am stop 10 and the driver is on his way to stop 4. I have lost all my food, lost my patience, and Sears has lost my business.

Customer Service
I can't believe how long it takes to stand in line to be helped at customer service. It takes forever. If I knew it was going to take over an hour I would have gone to lunch and come back. And the poor guy in front of me, York Galland, forgot his receipt and they told him he had to come back!
Why not have customers take numbers, tell them when to come back. At least you can go get lunch, or wonder around the store for awhile... of course to buy something else that doesn't work and have to bring back... I guess that might not be a good idea.

Customer service line
I had to wait 1 hour in line at Sears customer service. It was a horrible experience. The only good thing that happened I met a nice guy from Redding named York Galland. He even said this was an adventure he was not expecting.
Sears... get your act together. If you want people to shop at your stores, don't treat them like cattle.

Customer Service, service (or lack thereof)
I'm absolutely annoyed and unimpressed by Sears! I will never shop there again-not if I don't HAVE to! Unprofessional, uncommitted, and lame customer "service".
I scheduled appointments to receive service from Sears for my broken washer. Not only did I have to schedule it far out but their available times were almost impossible for the average worker. We finally locked in a date only for Sears never to call or even show up for my appointed time. I would never have known they canceled if I hadn't called them to find out and give them my cell phone number. By this time they had already charged me for the service. We rescheduled for yet another inconvenient day and I made sure they had my cell phone number. I never heard from them so I called again, only to be told they were overbooked and had to reschedule. Twice in a row, while holding my money??? Not inexpensive, by the way!
I demanded my money back and they kept transferring and transferring me... this was frustrating as I had to keep repeating why I wanted my money back. I didn't get an apology or an attempt to rectify the situation! At the end the "auto pilot" guy I spoke with on the phone ended with "thanks for choosing Sears"... did he even hear what I said????
Unfortuantely, I had to call them again since they carried the part to the washer I decided to fix myself, and the phone transfer with clueless (but gentle)"nothing I can help with" agents started again.
I will NOT recommend sears!

washer/customer service
Sears has the worst Customer Service!!!
It all started about a few months ago (summer of 08). To make it as brief as I can, after owning my Kenmore Washer for only about 1 year and a half, I called Sears for a repair and after waiting for someone to show up on the date, no one showed up. I called and after talking to about 3 customer service reps, I was told that I never confirmed the appointment. I then asked for another appointment and made sure that I confirmed this time. I took the day off from work, because the window that was given to me was 8am-5pm and although I couldn’t believe that I had to be home all day I didn’t argue because at this point, I haven’t had a washer for more than 3 months. The day of the repair appointment, I was getting more furious as the hours went by because I couldn’t believe that I was wasting a whole day for a technician to arrive. By 4:30 pm I called Sears and after talking to a few customer service reps (again) I was told that the technician was in a car accident. I could not believe my ears. I asked why no one called me and was told that they couldn’t do anything about it. I mean, they have the nerve to expect customers to take a day off to wait for them all day to just waste our time and money. They tried to get me another appointment in the next two weeks and I almost lost it on them. This was the second time that they screwed me and I really gave them a piece of my mind. Lo and behold, a Saturday morning appointment (9/27/08) popped up and I agreed. Before the date, I called to confirm the appointment and when I spoke to a technician he was curious as to why I was calling. I proceeded to tell him why I was so concerned and he was surprised because there was nothing on file about these past incidents. That’s right! None of the incidents were reported. No wonder they get away with soooo much!! Well, on 9/27, the technician showed up and after spending all morning there, he said that the motor was shot. Well, believe it not, a new appointment had to be scheduled except now I also have to wait for the parts that will fix the washer to arrive. Now I have a new appointment for 10/10/08. The saga is to be continued. Needless to say, this is the worst customer service I’ve ever had in my life.

Bad service
I called Sears 4-Home Aug. 13 regarding y door latch switch on washing machine. I was told the earliest appt. was for Sept. 3. Not happy but had to deal with it. I told them what the error code read out was and be SURE and bring the part. On the 3rd at 3 I called to makes sure I was on that days' list. I was. He finally called at 3:30 (service calls are between 9 and 3) and said he was on his way. He was 30 mins. away. I asked if he had the part with him. Sears had the model # wrong on my warranty certificate and he didn't have the part with him anyway. He said he would order the part that day. That was Wed. Sears called Monday to tell me to call when the part arrived. It was due Tuesday. Didn't come. We called back when the part arrived on Wed. They were going to put me back at the bottom of their list! I called the repairman directly ( he is the ONLY repairman working for them in a 100 mile radius or more!) directly and he promised to be out on Friday the 12th. It is 4:40 and still no repairman and no phone call. What a way t run a business! I am totally disgusted with Sears and want them to refund my warranty ( I have never used it and they have never called to schedule that so called preventative maintenance they tout in the contract). I paid over $200 for a big nothing! I can order my own parts and do my own repairs as I can get instructions online from FixYa.com .So, Sears, what do YOU have to say about this? I am tired of fighting about getting my machine fixed. I have spent over $15.00 at the laudromat and driven a 40 mile round trip to do it. You call this service? OH, PLEAZE!

Scam and cheating
I am unemployed and union appealing. getting workers comp not eligible --unemployment. gave sears letter from union term not wrongdoing etc. I am eligible. Sears wrote---send appeals decision... w/in 30 days or close claim!!! The pre-hearing is more than 30 days out. 5th ridiculous excuse/request from them. It's straight breach of contract. Anyone doing anything? interested in doing something? have 4 cards w/protection who honor claims. Sears-- use every excuse not to. like saying "wait till you have surgery to see if it cures your disability! I'm in serious debt because of this.

Terrible experience
I purchased a Sears Kenmore Refrigerator Model 59429 for $1019.99 from Sears In Frederick Maryland Mall in Nov 2006. In that first month I called Sears about it not cooling properly. The tech gave me a lesson in adjusting the temp controller.
I called again in Oct 2007 and twice more in 2008 before a Sears technician determined that the compressor had a blockage or some contamination. We lost a great amount of food and were without a refrigerator for several weeks. In fact, in 2008 one Sears Technician left without even verifying that his compressor repair would work which prolonged our being without a refrigerator.
Finally, in June 2008 a Sears Tech did replace the compressor, condessor and part of the refrigerant lines. If you google Sears Refrigerator problems you will find articles about unknown contamination from some Electrolux factory in Mexico where my Sears Kenmore Refrigerator was made.
The Sears One Source people are of little help. They even gave me hope that we would receive a replacement refrigerator, later a $500 credit and finally just a repair job that I have no confidence to last the number of years one would expect. Sears forced me to purchase an extended service warranty for $252 before they would even send a tech inspite of my refrigerators' service record and it being less than 3 years old.
Also, please realize that the compressor is suppose to be warrantied for 5 years even though that is not publicized by Sears.
We have always purchased Sears products in the past since our parents did likewise. But now the market has changed and Sears is milking their past years of good will for profit sake. There is no longer a Sears advantage.

Awful place
I have a problem with my slide in range. After the cleaning cycle the door locked, displayed error message F-60. I called 1800 4myhome as listed in the owners manual. I got disconnected, placed on hold, transferred to several different people where I had to start again from the beginning. We disconnected the stove re plugged it in and got a new error F-11. Put on hold again. A totally different person on the phone again. Was told that I was on the list for cancellation. Never did a service rep give me a time or day for a definitive appointment. The service department is completely unorganized and in no way should I have to be put through so many loops to get my oven door open. Usually it is expected that the repair department be proficient at their job, but I guess not at Sears. Now I have no oven to use and no explanation for this. I am highly disappointed in the service I received. I know for sure that as soon as my range is fixed I will be selling these products and not making any further purchases at Sears/Kmart for any big ticket items that I may need in the future.
