I also have had a horrible experience with Sears. I too tried to call the above number with no luck. Today was the 3rd attempt (no actually 4th attempt) to get my range fixed. A technician came out about a year ago, said I needed new hinges on my range and he of course didn't have them and wasn't even sure he could get them. Told me I should get a new range. Over a year later I purchase a warranty for about $250 and am told this will cover all service calls and repairs up to 500. I tell them the range needs new hinges, please don
t send someone out without the hinges. November 24 the technician comes out with no hinges. He orders them says he'll be back friday. Friday he calls, the hinges have not been delivered. We reschedule for Dec. 4th. December 4th ( today) someone is supposed to come between 8a.m and 12 p.m. 11:30 no one has come or called as I was told they would. The person staying at my house waiting calls and is told that we're the next stop. 2:00 she calls again and is told they will get in touch with the technician and call back. No call back. 3:00 I call and am told that he is one stop away and will call my cell phone when he's on his way. 4:00 I call again and am told they will definitely contact the technician and he will be there.
5:10 I call again and am told that the technician will not be able to make it because he was overbooked. At that time I am totally disgusted and want to speak with a manager. From 5:10 to 6:20 I call back at least 5 times. Each time the person refused to connect me with a manager and insists I give my phone number and address over and over again. They tell me that they will connect me with a manager, put me on hold and then I am disconnected.
Absolutely, positively UNNACCEPTABLE AND BAD BAD BUSINESS.
I AM TOTALLY DISGUSED WITH SEARS.
