Unsatisfactory repair
I sent a blower in for repair on 6/12. I received a call from the repair center on 6/19 to tell me the blower was fixed, the person I was speaking to told me they replaced the piston and cylinder because it was scored and seized up and they were sending it back to the Sears store and all I had to pay was $2.?? for the spark plug they replaced. I picked up the blower on 6/20 and brought it home, upon returning home I put gas in it (ONE PACKET OIL to ONE GAL. GAS AS SPECIFIED) and tried to start it. After a number of pulls (10 to 15) it finally started, it ran poorly for 2 or 3 min. while bogging down and sputtering until it stopped and would't restart. I took it back to Sears to send back to the repair center in Kalamazoo. I received a call on 6/28 telling me the cost was going to be $59.00 to replace the piston and cylinder because of scoring due to improper fuel mixture, PLEASE AGAIN. I tried to talk to her saying they just did that and that I allways did eveything by the book, Usage, Fuel Mixture, Safety and Winterizing, and got absolutely nowhere with thi person who in my opinion was rude. The blower has worked great for 2 yrs. and all of a sudden I am using it improperly. By the way something else botherd me, when I first sent the blower in the guy at Sears and the guy that called me from the sevice center upon the completion of the repair both made a comment as to how lucky I was that the blower broke 8 days before the warrantywas up(Warranty expired 6/20/2011). I'm not real sure if they were trying to imply something by that comment. I did't think about it until later but I'll tell you, and I wish I could tell them, the more I think abought it I'm insulted by that comment to say the least. I want to let you know Connie Metas and I shop at Sears often and never have I been so dissatisfied and disappointed with the way this issue has been handled !!! CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE ?
