On the evening of the 10th of december 2010 I was looking at the Gas Grills in SEARS at the tool department and noticed a "Close Out" price tag on one of the floor models for $104.00 with the normal Price of $346.00. I took the tag to the check Out to pay for it and then the clerk told me she had to talk to the Manager. He (JEFF) came over to me and said that He can't sell it to me for that price and that He made a mistake and left it on the Grill. I then told him that if it was advertised at this price, he was obligated to sell it to me at that price. He then said "I Don't have to sell it to you for that price and I'm not going to but I will give you 5% off." I told him that that was not an acceptable offer and wanted him to Honor the price on the Price Tag. He just refused.
This is not how you win customers.
We were going to purchase other items, but put them back for concerns that the other Sale Prices would not be honored either.
I feel He should have Honored the Price Tag that he himself admitted leaving on the Grill.
This is the type of misleading advertising that will keep me and all of my Family, out of SEARS.
I currently carry a DISCOVER card and am good standing and have been for decades.
I do not know how long I will keep this card either after this insident.
