rebates
Don't expect to receive Sears rebates on appliances. I purchased a refrigerator and a diswasher on the same day. I was told by the saleman that there was a free delivery rebate on the refrigerator and free installation rebate on the dishwasher, both amounting to approx $149. Because I took advantage of zero financing on the refrigerator, I was denied both rebates because they were purchased on the same day as the zero financing.
If the rebates had been approved, they would have been in the form of a Sears debit card, not a cash refund.

Customer No Service
I bought a new house in August 2006 with a Kenmore flat top stove/oven already in place. Since then I have continually had to put the oven door back together because the screws that hold the door together, keep coming undone. In 2007 I had Sears come out and repair the door. The problem continues and because I did not call Sears every time the door came apart they are now denying any solution except to charge me to come back out and make the repair. This last incident actually caused injury(burn) to my wife.

Repair Appointment
On Friday, October 9th, I called the Sears service repair center's toll free number to schedule an appointment for my Kenmore washing machine which had developed a leak. After talking to the representative about my service needs, I was convinced that I had an appointment for the following Wednesday. Since I had originally planned to ask for only a half day off, I requested the latest appointment available. The representative assured me he would note that on the appointment request.
On Tuesday, October 13th, I called the service department to let them know that the repair technician could come as early as needed since my administrator agreed to let me take the whole day off in order to get my washing machine repaired. I was shocked to discover that my appointment did not exist according to the repair department.
After talking with a second representative and being told repeatedly that she was "sorry for the inconvenience" and the next available appointment was October 21st, I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor with whom I spoke was Jane Chavez (35698). Again I was told that the service department could do nothing even though the supervisor confirmed that according to their own records I had called on the previous Friday and had spoken with a repair department representative. It seems obvious to me that a repair was requested. Why else would I call the service request number specifically? When I asked her to review the tape recorded message, she informed me that it would take time to do that. Even though I had been on the phone with the repair department for more that 30 minutes at that point, I offered to wait. She said it would take too long.
At that point I requested either an appointment on the day I originally made other arrangements with work in order to be available or a discount for a later appointment if that date was truly impossible. She repeated that no appointments were available and that she did not have the authority to authorize a discount.
In essence, I am very disappointed with the service representative who should have correctly scheduled my initial request for an appointment. Now I will have to request an additional day off and wait another week for my washing machine to be repaired. I am not pleased with the supervisor either. Although she remained calm, she offered me empty apologies. As a returning customer of Sears, I expect to receive better service. I made the appointment in good faith, yet I am the person who is frustrated and inconvenienced because the service repair department employee did not do his job correctly. If the Sears repair department could not honor the original appointment date, I think they should compensate me in some way for their representative's error. I would much rather have my appointment, but something should be done to atone for my trouble.

I purchased a refridgerator about 5days ago and it already gave up on me. The cooler and freezer just stopped working out of nowhere, the food started to spoil. I called Sears on a Monday to see what can be done. I was told that the nex available day to get it repair would be until Friday. Now today, which is Tuesday I called to advised them that I couldn't wait that long. I have a 1yr that gets up in the middle of the night wanting his bottle, and how am I suppose to take care of my baby's need. They pretty much didn't care. I spoke to about 10 different people, I was constantly transfered from dept to dept. The 1st peron said that she would take care of an exch for me but then we got disconnected, she didn't bother to reach me back. The 2nd person said that she would call me back after speaking to the store, and I never got a call from her. The 3rd person said that the store should be contacting me. The 4rd person hung up on me and was very rude, he didn't even give me a chance to explain my situation, he just said no you can not get your exch any time sooner and hung up!. By the time I got to the 5th person, it was 5hrs later!!! I was tired of dealing with them. I had never purchased anything from Sears and now that I did, I truly regret it. I even offered to deliver the refridgerator back to the store myself as long as they would refund me my money back right away and they said it would take 7-10 business days before I got reimbursed.

Sears Kenmore Select Self-Cleaning Electric Range Model#665.95802 is dangerous. The oven turns itself on and heats to an extremely hot temperature and won't turn off.

no show
I had a service appointment because the brand new washing machine door does not close correctly, THEY DID NOT SHOW UP, 20 minutes to get a human that did not speak english to apologize and thank me for shopping sears, are you kidding. I will be home for the sixth day waiting for sears on my next tuesday appointment. DOES SEARS CARE ABOUT THE LAST FIVE DAYS IVE WASTED WAITING FOR HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. I am a nurse, if I gave care the ways sears does your loved ones would be doing very poorly

Defective Washer and Dryer
I purchased a brand new Kenmore washer and dryer set in August of 2007. I chose this store and brand because my family and friends have used them for somewhere around 50 years. At this time, both the washer and dryer are not working. I spoke to several people at Sears and they will not help me out with this because I didn't purchase an extended warranty. If this was 4, 5 or 10 years from now, I would understand, but this set is obviously defective and I have been ripped off. I do not have $200 for them to come out just to look at the set and I don't feel that it is fair to expect to have to pay this much when the set is less than 2 years old.

POOR Customer Service
On 1-2-09 I tried to ask a question about my brand new appliance purchase of which I did not have an account number for yet . "Robert" cut me off mid sentence saying "what can I do for you"?
I responded with "excuse me?' He then shouted very loudly and slowly "WHAT - CAN - I - DO - FOR - YOU ?" I was so agast that I hung up. When I called back I got ahold of "Steven" and asked him for Credit Central's Supervisor. He was hesitant and said "we have several supervisors". I asked again for the supervisors name in charge of Credit Central. He gave me Alan Lacy's name and literally laughed into the phone. Wow, being in the customer service business for 30 years myself, I was shocked and couldn't believe what had just transpired.
I intend to pursue this matter to the fullest extent. This sort of conduct just simply cannot be tolerated and ignored any longer. I wonder why Sears is in trouble and ready to go down? Hmmm. See ya boys, perhaps in the unemployment line where my office is...in CUSTOMER RELATIONS. Now I'm laughing.

washing machine maintenance
we purchased over $2200 dollars in appliances from sears 1 yr ago from sears. we were told to purchase the maintenance pkg and they would come to ck/work on appliance problems anytime. We were told they come out 5 days a week.
In less than a yr, we had a problem with the washer. When we called sears, they told us they only come out on tues and thurs. we argued that was not what we were duped into. we were told 5 days a wk. after several complaints, they came out on a friday. the guy acted like he knew nothing about the tues/thurs issue.
On thurs, 12/18, the washer went out again, and my called sears. They say they cant come out til jan 8 or maybe 15th. (tues/thurs) We alerted them of our house with 4 children and they basically said tough. If we lived in houston, we could get the service we were told. (they get service 5 days wk/maybe 6) We're filing complaints with them at their corporate level and local bbb and also with the state tx atty general on being duped.
why do we pay the same price as those in houston, but get less service?
My family has been shopping with sears for over 60 yrs. and it now stops with me and my family!
It's worth paying the higher price at home depot or lowes. sears is no good, cant trust them.
