14 year old kenmore range and oven. when turned on tonight the element arced and ingnited like a magnesium torch. only turning off the breaker stopped the burning. I cannot believe all the other kenmore complaints like this one and there is not a recall out there. I was going to just replace the element but after reading this i will go find another oven.

THE COMPRESSOR ON MY REFRIDGERATOR WENT BAD.IT HAS A 5 YEAR WARRANTY STILL IN AFFECT.I CALLED SEARS SERVICE.HE CAME AND I TOLD HIM THAT THE COMPRESSOR WAS BAD BECAUSE I HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT IT.HE TOOK THE BACK OFF AND REMOVED THE THERMAL PROTECTION RELAY FROM THE SIDE OF THE UNIT AND TOLD ME THIS WAS THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT WOULD COST $285 DOLLARS TO REPLACE IT.THE PART WAS BAD BECAUSE THE BURNED OUT COMPRESSOR MOTOR START WINDING DESTROYED IT .THE PART COST $35 DOLLARS AND I KNEW IT WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.I TOLD HIM HE WAS OUT OF HIS MIND.HE WAS TRYING TO RECOVER THE COST OF A NEW COMPRESSOR FROM ME.ALL THIS TOOK 15 MINUTES AND HE TRIED TO SOAK ME ANOTHER $85 BUCKS FOR THE SERVICE CALL AT WHICH TIME I THROUGH HIM OUT OUT.ALL OF A SUDDEN SEARS NO LONGER HAS ANY RECORD OF MY PURCHASE AND NEEDS MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECEIPT TO FIX IT PLUS THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME LABOR BUT WON'T TELL ME HOW MUCH...THANKS
