I received a package in the mail with a sample of coffee and a cheap mug. It had a note inside "Thank you for your order". I did not recall ordering anything so I called the number on the note. Only got a message machine. I left a message stating that I did not recall placing an order.
A couple of weeks later I received an overdraft notice from my credit union. I was charged $79.00 for coffee, a $27.00 overdraft fee and $2.00 because my account balance fell below $50.00. I have left 9 messages with the following numbers: 888-217-2233, 888-963-2233, 877-797-8853, 877-797-8553, 866-794-2030, 888-730-6363. I spoke with my credit union. They advised me to cancel my card which I did. I sent a letter to the Illinois Consumer Fraud Bureau as well as the Illinois State Atty General. I left 2 e-mail requests on their defunct website. So far nothing. I am trying to do whatever I can think of to resolve this situation. We citizens ought to be reimbursed more for all the work we have put into trying to fix this corrupt company. I started a attractive Trial Offer from this company. The trial was $2.00 to try out their coffee and recive 2 travel cups along with it.
I recived my original shipment within a week after I submitted all my info. The following day I recived anouther shipment of there product. I called told them I was not iterested in there product and was told that 2 more shipments have already been sent out to me.
I stated that this was not the agreement for the trial offer! The agreement was try for 2 weeks, if you liked it they would send you more of the coffee you originally ordered or you could change on the website. Or you can call and cancle. I had not even had a chance to try the coffee and they had sent 3 more packages out to me. I canceled right away.
I was instructed to return the coffee, and within 4 to 6 weeks my money would be returned. So I returned the coffee in unopened as instructed.
Its been 3 months and they are still deducting money from my account.
I called my bank and because I started the first trial offer and gave them my info there was nothing they could do for me.
$320 Later I am still reciveing their product in the mail and they are still deducting my account. I am sure they even sold my info to anouther company in the same town with the same address, as they also withdrew $79.00 within a day of each other. Both withdraws was for $79.00 from Seattle Coffee and Shopdani.com?? What? I never heard of shopdani.com. I called and called that company and they don't answer thier phones either.
So I had no choice but to try to get my money back from the company.
I spoke again to Seattle Coffee Direct on Dec 2 and the man I spoke with said Yes, I see here you have cancled, we did recive the packages back. I will email you a verifacation letter stating that fact, and I will process your refund. I will also make a note in your file so they see that I have spoken with you about this today. I then gave him my bank fax number and he said he would fax the "letter" to them also.
4 days later, and no email, and no fax to my bank. I recieve anouther package of that dang coffee. Then anouther package yesterday.
Ihad been calling and calling all 4 numbers, since the first of the last 2 packages arrived and could not get a answer.
Finally today I talked to a person who told me they have not sent me any coffee or takin any more money out of my account???
What? I have a package right here in front of me and I have the bank statments to prove you have.
She then said let me get a manager and the phone went dead. I have had no choice but to close my account that I had for 20 years.
If there is anyone else out there that has gone through what I have with this company, please post a comment.
I think if we all signed something, or went to the Better Business together we could stop this company from stealing other peoples money. And hopfully get ours back.
