I purchased my furniture less than a year ago all at one time. I purchased a full bedroom set, coffee table L shaped sectional leather couch that is the source of my issues, a dinning room table with eight chairs (the table has a crack in it near the fastening point of one of the legs) and many more things from them all at one time. Two of the sections from my couch started to feel loose in the reclining sections gradually until they finally they failed. Upon calling Ashley Furniture, they sent a technical service rep to my house to take pictures and document serial numbers. Later I received a call from their customer service department stating the findings of the technician were found by his manager to be consistent with abuse. The furniture was not abused in any way and I find it appalling that after I have spend thousands of dollars in their store on one visit they choose not to honor their warranty and blame the consumer for the cheap construction or defect of the property I have purchased from them. Today I called the store after waiting a few days for the manager Tom McManaway to call me back. They stated he was on vacation but after I told the customer service representative what had been going on and that I was planning to protest the store, she put me through to him because he "just happened to be in the store for closing paperwork". I felt it necessary to include that little tid bit in case anyone had experienced a similar avoidance to follow up on a complaint. I told him that if they were not willing to stand by their warranty, I would let everyone know what I experienced with them and their "Warranty" and also load the section of the couch that failed up in my truck and protest the store but even this didn't pursued him to think a little more about his decision. You can't get anywhere by being nice and professional or by sticking the guns to them so I strongly advise against making your next furniture shopping experience with Ashley Furniture! The couch had a five year frame and wood work warranty and the wood frame is what failed. The furniture is under warranty until it fails. Then it is your problem.
