As a customer of ADT for more than twenty five years in NJ, I was required by insurance requirements to install a Home Security System in the Boca Raton home.

I immediately turned to ADT.

Being in NJ at this time my insurance agent gave me the local ADT phone number, Dialing I was connected to Broadview Security in Dallas, TX and was assured Broadview and ADT were one in the same.

Spoke to a gentleman as to my requirements and referred to an on line add:


“Home Security System. Burglar Alarm-ADT

ADT home security systems help protect you from burglary, fire & emergencies with sensors…

Installation $349, 00 *$99 after $250 mail-in cash back…”


Few days after initial installation we were advised of an additional $115.00 for a heat/smoke sensor.

We were not advised of this since the add implied and indicated ‘fire & emergencies with sensors”


Without this there would be no fire protection when unoccupied.


Our position is that the add is misleading and for not being advised I am therefore requesting a credit for the $115.00.

You as you wish may issue a check or apply credit to our monthly fee.

Beware of Scam/Fraud
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. A man came to my door today, May 27, 2010, and said he worked for General Electric, and that he was the manager in my area. He said he had my name on his list, and that the sign in my yard was outdated. He said they were hired by General Electric to replace all our equipment, and yard signs to reflect the change. I asked if he was working for GE, then why his shirt and everything else he had said, "Pinnacle?" He said GE hired Pinnacle to contact all the customers with outdated equipment to offer a free upgrade. He said all the security companies' equipment are manufactured by GE, and that my security company is only monitoring, so GE hired Pinnacle to update my equipment. I told him I had a five year contract with my security company, and he told me the contract was no longer valid, because my security company had been transferred to Pinnacle for monitoring the system. He said our contract was changed to month-to-month with my current security company. It sounded suspicious. He wanted to check my panels, and I refused to let him in. I asked for his name and business card, and he said because he was not selling a product, he did not have a business card. He was on salary, and that his job was to inform customers with outdated equipment of the free upgrade of security equipment. I asked for his telephone number, and he said to call the 800 number for GE. I got his name on the name tag he was wearing. I called my security company, and I confirmed my suspicious. My security company told me my contract was still valid, and that my account was not transferred to other security company for monitoring. It was all a scam!

Cancellation/Service
I have all of the problems listed on this website and more. The debit card they were using has expired so no more payments from us. I sent a letter cancelling the service in plenty of time, they keep calling and leaving messages, but since we have caller ID we don't answer the phone. I will gladly join in a class action suit.
We have since gone back to ADT for our security.
Oh, by the way when they sold us this service they claimed to be an ADT upgrade. Yes they are good sales people, but I think they are in for big trouble now.

Tried to cancel contract and charging for an entire year. We have had the contract 3 years!
We tried to cancel our three year contract that was suppose to end, but the company extended it for another year. They told us that we must cancel it 30 days prior to the contract date. We did not get a new contract, they just extended our old contract. Is this leagal without sending us a new contract?

Your product/service haven't erase my viruses so I am requesting you return me full amount back on my account. I had to buy Norton 360 to fix some viruses. You even charged me 103.00.
