They are out to take advantage of people
I just recently tried to go thru a PAP program to get assistance with my meds., but was rejected...within minutes I received an email from SCBN, who welcomed me to their club...this was unsolicited...They were helpful in completing my applicatiions and mailed them to me...but when they refused to provide a physical address I became suspicious and check this site...Now they have already charged my account the $50 app. fee and the first month of drugs cost/ $60...on my card...now my request for assistance from these companies has not been approved yet and I have not sent in the packet...I just hope I get my $ back...can't afford to lose money when I don't have a job... So, whoever is reading this please cancel your credit card and for God's sake do not give out your bank account # to these people...They're very good at convincing you they are sincere, but again like many of these fraudulent low cost health care companies, they are out to take advantage of people...I live in Florida and have dealt with this before...I should know to check this site before I do anything...Let's get these guys...It's a shame for people to take advantage when times are so tough...

no return money
I was fired from my job which inturn left me with no insurance, I had to get medicine for an injury I got from a Dr, the medicine is $125.00 a month and I couldn't pay that much I had to ask my sister to get the medicine for me. I was looking on line for a way to get the medicine cheeper I found this site select care benefits network I called them and they told me they could get me the medicine for $35.00 a mth and all I would have to do is pay a one time fee of $85.00 and then $35.00 a mth so I signed up using the last bit of money I had. Once they got the money they told me the dr had to write to them stating my income my dr could only go by my word that I had no income SCBN told me the phrmaceutical company won't release the medicine until they get proof of income; so since I couldn't provide proof I don't have a bank account, no credit cards only prepaid one I told the company to send me my money back in January 12, 2011 this is March 14, 2011 and I have yet seen a dime back, or the medicine. I have contacted the BBB office and the Illinois Attorney Generals office and filed charges on SCBN for scaming me. The number that Brad Williams has is a bogus number just like the company is BOGUS

BILLING
I CONTACTED SELECTCARE BENEFITS NETWORK (SCBN) IN JUNE WHERE WE DISCUSSED THEIR SERVICES AND SPEAKING WITH MY PARENTS FOR WHOM THE PROGRAM WAS FOR I CONTACTED SCBN PERHAPS AN LATER LATER AND DECLINED TO USE THEIR SERVICE. IN SHORT I TOLD THE YOUNG MAN MY PARENTS HAD CHOSEN NOT TO USE THEIR SERVICE.

I THOUGHT NO MORE ABOUT IT. BUT THIS MONTH WHILE REVIEWING MY STATEMENT I DISCOVERED I HAVE BEEN CHARGED $150.00 MONTHLY (i.e., $450.00) FOR THEIR SERVICES. I CONTACTED SCBN AND THEY INFORMED ME FIRST I COULD NOT CANCEL THE SERVICE MY PARENTS WOULD HAVE TO DO THAT. I INFORMED THE YOUNG LADY THEY WERE NOT BILLING MY PARENTS BUT MY CREDIT CARD FOR THESE SERVICES. I TOLD THE REPRESENTATIVE MY PARENTS HAD NOT TO DATE RECEIVED AND MEDICINES FROM THEM NOR A PHARMACY ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. MY PARENTS NEVER APPLIED FOR THE SERVICE. THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED I WAS BEING BILLED FOR THE APPLICATION NOT THE MEDICATION.

SHE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO PUT MY NAME DOWN AS AN EMERGENCY CONTACT THUS ALLOWING ME THE ABILITY TO CANCEL THIS SERVICE VIA FAX. NOW I HAVE TO TRY TO GET MY MONEY BACK.

phishing scam
I contacted this company 12/8/09 for help with prescriptions. They took all of my personal identifying information: demographics, SSN, driver's license, credit card and medical history. They put themselves out as a pharmacy advocacy program. Today is 1/5/10 and they have charged my account $90. I have never received any services or products for this money. They said there is a non-refundable "application fee" and monthly charge for medications. I would have to put in writing that I want them to stop charging me. I should have known something was amiss when they said they couldn't issue me a receipht and could not email the "application forms". They have never sent any forms by mail and have refused to return phone calls.

Their website does not list a street address and does not have a link by which to contact them. All emails I have sent requesting a refund have been returned "undeliverable."

Beware! This is a phishing scam and they collect an inordinate amount of personal information. In the meantime, my doctor put me in touch with a local pharmacy assistance program and I have been able to receive my prescriptions for $10 for a 60 day supply with no "application fee" and without disclosing everthing from my weight to my SSN.

Overcharged
After 4 months collecting enough data to satisfy new member requirements, SCBN informed me that not only did I have to have a membership to obtain one medication, but now my husband had to apply for his own membership to obtain the one medication of his we needed help with. And you guessed it...that required another $50 app fee and instead of $40 per month for two meds as originally required it would now be $30 each.

I requested help with 2 meds from day one, and no one ever told me about separate membership requirements...after numerous conversations with different reps for months! I refused to submit any more forms and requested cancellation and refund immediately. I was told I then had to send written confirmation I wanted to cancel.

The next thing I received was another generic letter informing me I had to meet detailed criteria to be 'allowed' to cancel and of course nothing about refunding. Upon calling for a supervisor was told they'd have to call me back (again). I wonder if he'll tell me his name is Brad or what is the other one??

After being screwed by previous employers out of unemployment, insurance and 401k benefits we are tired of being cheated out of money. This time I'm gonna fight to get our money back one way of another.

Select Care Benefits is an oxymoron. Select Care INDEED! CROOKS.

Awful experience
I applied to SCBN on the internet and was denied because I had insurance. The next day, Jim Moran of SCBN called me and after finding out that I had minimal prescription coverage (but some! which is supposed to disqualify me) he convinced me to give him my credit card information and join. The next day I received a long email which informed me that I would have to go to my doctor's office to pick up my medicines. Since my doctors are a three hour round trip away, I called to cancel.

I found out that my credit card had already been charged a $50 membership fee and $60 monthly fee for prescriptions and that it was up to the Board of Directors whether I would get a full refund. I was told to explain everything to the BofD through their websites support center, which I did. Then I got another long email telling me I had to return all 'forms or work product' to them--which I haven't received--in 30 days, and provide written documentation that I was ineligible--in 15 days. They didn't provide an address so I called and was given a PO Box.

They gave me examples of ineligibility: a letter from my insurance company, proof of increase in income, a drug company's letter informing me that my appeal was denied, a letter from my doctor saying that my medications had been discontinued.

All this and I haven't even signed any agreements! I have made many phone calls about this to them and never get any clear answers. I called my insurance company and they are going to send me a letter saying that I have prescription coverage, but will I get it to SCBN in 15 days? I have a really bad feeling about them.
