We bought a house built by Sellcrest Homes in June 2006. This builder built many of the homes in our subdivision. Others who have had problems, have not given him nearly as many chances as we have. We have had several issues which makes us concerned about the quality of our home. First, we already have drywall seams starting to show in the ceiling. Second, we have moisture accumulating in our master bedroom closet to the point we had a 3 foot wide, 2 foot high patch of mold. The builder came in and ripped out that piece of drywall and replaced it. Now, 4 months later we have moisture again. The tile in our master bathroom shower is not level so there is a small gap between the top of the tub and the bottom of the tile where water can run through. This gap is large enough to the point where we cannot put enough caulk down to seal the gap. The builder installed the kitchen sink but only caulked around 2 sides of the sink. We asked the builder to repair a window screen and sliding door screen. After 2 months he returned the sliding door screen but said the window company kept losing his order for the replacement screen. I asked him for the number of the company and made one 5 minute phone call and had the screen in a week. One of the windows had the security latch break within 2 months of us moving in. We asked the builder to replace it. He said he would but never did. I asked the window company in that same call, if they would send us a replacement window. They did. This builder is a very nice person but based on my experience and conversations with others in our neighborhood, he is anything but reliable and we have very little confidence in the quality of his work.
