I APPLIED SENTRY PRO XFC TO MY 8LB DACHSHUND LAST NIGHT AND WITHING THE HOUR SHE WAS FOAMING AT THE MOUTH, RUNNING WEIRD, VOMITING, AND CRYING. THERE IS A CHEMICAL IN THIS PRODUCT THAT CAN KILL YOUR DOG. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. IM FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM AND THE STORE THAT STILL KEEPS THIS PRODUCT ON THE SHELVES. AGAIN, DO NOT USE, EVEN MY VET WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING MADE BY THIS COMPANY.

Same exact breed and 9LBS. I almost lost my dog from using this product. PET SMART is irresponsible to be selling it. Had I lost my dog, it is pure speculation if I would have had a USMC flashback upon returning to PET SMART. This is a very dangerous product that should be removed from all pet stores, retailers, and Vets immediately. I PUT SENTRY PRO XFC ON MY SHIT ZU 11 AM AND 15 MINUTES LATER MY PUP WOKE ME UP AND WOULD NOT STOP WALKING ON ME UNTIL I PHYSICALLY GOT UP TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG., WAS FOR 2 DAYS MY DOG NOT SLEEP AND SHAMPOO 2 HR LATER AND GAVE THEM HALF OF A BENADRIL PILL THE FIRST DAY AND 1 THE SECOND DAY I BELIEVE IS A SEVERE SIDE EFFECT SO I TOOK THEM STRAIGHT TO THE VET AS A PRECAUTION, THE VET SAID THAT IF I HAD NOT WASHED THE POISON OFF OF THE DOGS IT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL ANMD I FELT REALLY FRUSTRATED THAT THIS TYPE OF MEDICATION PRODUCTS ARE SOLD

I applied Seargent's Sentry Pro XFC topical flea medication onto my dog last night. He is a two year old Siberian Husky and has never had a medical problem before this. He immediately began to act strange and after a couple of hours, he was trembling all over and could no longer stand up. I washed the medication from his back, but the damage was already done! I called the emergency vet (it was12:30 am) and too him in. They told my that the medicine had poisoned my dog and he had to be re-bathed and put on an IV to distribute de-toxification medicine and muscle relaxers. He is doing better now and is currently under observation at my regular vet. So far my bill is $443. I am in the process of trying to be reimbursed for my medical expenses through Sergeant's, but this should have never happened. I purchased this product at Petsmart and mistakenly believed that it would be safe. Please stay away from this and all Sergeant's products so that your pet does not need to needlessly suffer as mine did!

Within an hour of applying Sentry Pro XFC to both our Golden Retriever and Black Lab/Border Collie mix (both 6 years old), they suffered a severe reaction to this product. They both were in agony, could not sit still for more than a few seconds and were scratching themselves until their skin was raw. After looking at the application site, it had clearly burned their skin. I immediately gave both dogs Benedryl, but the reaction to this product has lasted 2 weeks already. They are definitely not themselves - their energy level has diminished and they don't eat as well as they did before they received the Sentry Pro XFC. Although we bathed them as soon as we realized what was happening, it is obvious that this product is extremely toxic and should be taken off the market.

I encourage anyone who is considering using this product to consult with their vet before doing so - there are many other safe products on the market that are safe for our pets.

I applied Sergeant's Senrty Pro XFC to my 1 1/2 yr old boxer. Since I have used several spot-on flea controls before, I knew not to apply it too far down his spine as he is extremely flexible and can lick parts of his back. I was very careful not to put it on an area that his tongue could reach. I applied the product at 6:00pm. At 7:00pm, the dog was fine. We had a gathering to attend, so I placed him in his kennel. Upon returning home at around 11:00pm, I let the dog out to potty. I noticed he was salivating...A LOT! He ate, drank, went to potty again, then we headed to bed at about 11:45pm. He would not lie still, was up every two minutes trying to get comfortable and slubbering all over the bed. So, I got up and refered to the package. Of course there were no warnings listing possible reactions, just a number to call if your dog displayed signs of a reaction...yet no detail of what signs to look for. So, I called the number. The lady told me to give him some treats. She suspected that he somehow got some in his mouth. I told her he had already eaten and I would try the treats, but I seriously doubted he got any in his mouth, because of my careful placement of the product. I asked he what else I should look for. She said if he did not stop salivating, bathe him in dawn dish soap. If he started shaking, contact a vet immediately. So...I tried the treats. No help. At 2:30am, I gave my dog a bath in dawn dish soap. When he was donewith the bath, I put him in the kennel to dry. About 15minutes later, he started whining a very pitiful sounding whine. So, I opened up the kennel door. He walked out and could barely stand, shaking all over. No muscle control at all. At this point it is almost 3:30am. Can't reach my vet. Called the emergency animal hospital, which is about 45 minutes from me and in a bad section of town. They said to bring him in immediately. I couldn't because I have two small children and was not about to take them into that part of town with just me (a female) and a sick dog. So, I proceeded to call every vet in the phonebook until I got a live person. The vet I finally reached said to give him 25mg of benadryl and iif it didn't work by daylight, get him to the animal hospital before the reaction did major damage. I gave him the benadryl, and he was fine by 6:00am. THANK GOD! I called Sergeants back. They were apologetic, yet condescending...acting like it was my fault for taking a risk on their product. I called PetSmart(where I bought the product) and lodged a complaint. I called the FDA and lodged a complaint. Now, I am listing complaints and telling my story anywhere I can on the web.
