The $99 Brazilian Keratin Treatment - here's what happened. I recently saw the "loot" from Lifebooker on August 24 and thought it was too good to be true. In that email, it said that the original price was $322.50 at Sergio Limpopo but now only $99 dollars. I called to ask if students were going to be doing my hair and they said no. I purchase the loot. I called back to make my appointment for a Thursday after work but the hairstylist called me yesterday about an opening tonight so I took it. There are a few things "off" about this place - it is in an office building, you go up an old, dirty flight of stairs and the door to the salon says "hair co-op(?)" and "laser treatment." The bathroom is old and out in the hall.
My hair got washed, they sat me down and the stylist told me that with the keratin treatment, you cannot wash your hair for 72 hours but if you pay an additional $27, you could get treatment where you would only have to wait 24 hours before washing your hair. I asked to speak with the manager about why this was not disclosed earlier, before I purchased the loot. Instead of taking my feedback to use it in a positive way, Sergio (I believe) was extremely quick to tell my stylist to dry my hair and that they would give me a refund. They refused to listen even before anything was done to my hair. I pretty much told Sergio that his reaction was bizarre and that he could handle those situations better in order to avoid possibly having someone write negative reviews about his business and he replied, "I don't care if you lie about my place." It's great that Sergio has all these glowing reviews but this is not the kind of salon I usually go to and you do get what you pay for. I will go to my regular salon and pay the $300 for the Brazilian Keratin Treatment.
