I have been a musician for over 40 years. My sweet wife made the mistake of buying a custom; one of; made-while-you-wait Valentine's Day present for me. This, in the form of a music motif earring from Shipley's Fine Jewelry located in Hampstead, Maryland. It looked very nice in the jewelry box and cost her a small fortune for the custom work, but the second time I tried to put it in my ear the thin stem bent like a rubber band. Upon further examination I could see were the stem weld had begun to tear away from the earring itself. I did not want to try to straighten it myself for fear it would snap off like a dried toothpick.
When I returned the broken item to the store the female behind the counter could not have been the least bit interested. She refused to give me my money back, did not so much as offer to fix the broken item, and then started giving me an attitude about it!
Don't buy anything from this Hampstead, Maryland store. The owner of this establishment, Seth Shipley (whose so-called craftsmanship, we now find, leaves much to be desired) couldn't care less about his customers' satisfaction. Waste your time (or money) on their inferior products and lack of customer service at your own risk!
