Fraud and scam
This is a total scam site and should be shut down. The NY Attorney General should be ashamed that this operation is allowed to continue in the State of NY.
I tried to order camera equipment but had my order cancelled due to it not being in inventory. Yet on their website they had the same product listed as available for 2x the prior price, and had it available when calling by phone at that higher price. I did not order. Am checking my credit card regularly since this information was given out.
See other complaints for this and related stores at:

Other sites note the operation is located in Brooklyn. The NY Dept of State lists the registered person for service of process for Digital Direct Online, Inc. as Edward Barnathan, 2203 Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11223. This is the same zip as where product is sent.

FRAUD
Do not patronize this business or you run the risk of fraud against any credit card you may use with them. On two occasions I used different cards to make purchases. Prior to these purchases and subsequent to these purchases I did not use either card. It so happens that both cards had fraudulent activity posted to them after my purchases from shopdigitaldirect.com.
There are plenty of other honest, reputable vendors out there. Don't shop at shopdigitaldirect.com.

fraudulant business
I ordered a Canon MarkII Camera for $1899 which is a pretty good price comparing to other sites which they sell for $2699. 2 Days later got a phone call that I have to order battery and charger separately, which I did so it came to $2749. I called back and confirmed the price that same day. I received the camera and I saw an invoice of $3650!!! I called and had the worst experience ever I had with the customer service! They said this is a package and the extra 900 is for the camera software and the shoulder strap! I shop online a lot! Never experienced such a thing before! Do not buy from these thieves!!! btw they charge 10% restocking fee, if you want to return ...

fraudulant business parctice
I ordered with this company the; Canon HV30 Presidential Package w/Free Video Light & Hard Case like it was offered on their webpage for US$ 679. After I placed the order, I received a call from one of their sales associates, who informed me that the ordered items, reflects the international package and for just US$120 he will upgrade me to the US package, which then includes all accessories as listed on the webpage plus a rechargeable battery and the necessary software and cable equipment run the camera. I was very suspecious of what I herad but was to maive and placed the order. A week later I received my package but key items where missing;
• 2GB Mini SecureDigital (miniSD) Memory Card
• 2x Telephoto Lens For Canon HV20 & HV30
• Free Video Light & Hard Case
• MiniDV Head Cleaner
In addition I received the Wide Angle Converter Lens For Canon HV20 & HV 30 whitout the adapter ring, so it did not fir the Canon HV30. I called and send e-mails about the missing parts but never received an e-mail answer back and when calling I was always transferred to someone else and then got disconnected at the end. After calling for a supervisor - the same -got disconnected. If soemone else had such an experience, I would like to ask you to send me a letter with your story to my address. I am planing to contact an attorney to stop this company being in business. Please send me your story to;

BAIT AND SWITCH
I ordered a Nikon digital camera body at a great price. The company called to confirm the order and tried to sell me additional products [battery and charger]. After I said no several times I agreed to the battery and charger upgrade for $150.00. It ended up being a $410.00 dollar increase. Tried to return it all and was told it would cost me a hefty restocking charge. This company needs to be put out of business and the owners need to go to jail. Wish I had read reviews before purchase.

Order cancellation for Camcorder
I placed an order for a Sony camcorder based on my google research and price comparison as listed. The site clearly says stocks exist at the time of ordering and after placing the order it sends a email that there are no stocks. I tried to google and find if this company is fake and is collecting useful personal information for any reason. Interestingly I found a good number of complaints related to orders and bad customer service. I am really disappointed with such online business companie. Please be careful.

Misleading Advertisements
My boyfriend and I went camera shopping online for the new Nikon D90. This website was one of the top on the google list so we checked it out. The company seemed trustworthy and we found a great deal (Nikon D90 w/ 2 nokin lenses, and a lot of little extras) for $839. We put in our order on a last Friday.
On Monday (yesterday), my boyfriend received a call from a gentleman named Adam with the company who informed him that the camera package we bought does not include a battery so that will be an extra $179. Also, the warrenty was only a 3-month wattenty so we got the 5-year warrenty for $150. PLUS, even though the website advertises FREE SHIPPING AND NO TAX, we needed to pay 8.5% of the total amount on insurance for shipping the package.(hmm...8.5% is also the sales tax amount, sneaky). All of that added over $400 to our package.
When I was told about this, I wanted to call and get all the specifics on the extra stuff we had ordered. (ex: the brand of the battery, etc.) So I called and waited 30 minutes to finally talk to the guy that had called originally because no one else would help me. The gentleman, Adam, was very rude and had an attitude the whole time with me. One of my main questions was what brand the battery was (which ended up being Nikon). I looked up the price on 5 other websites and the battery no more then $50. At this point, I was so upset on how he talked to me I was going to email them a complaint about their customer service. I could not get them to email me back with a supervisor/manager name so thats when I googled "complaints on shopdigitaldirect.com" and came accross this website.
After reading all the complaints, I had my boyfriend call to cancel the order. After telling them he wanted to cancel, he was hung up on TWICE and the third time he called they closed down the customer service!
So...needless to say, we called the bank and told them the story and not to authorize the payment that was already pending. The bank gave us our money back and the company has not called us today yet.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY...READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL!

grey market camera
never shop here, warranty is bogus, called nikon with the serial number of my camera to verify my USA warranty, they told me it was a grey market camera and therefor has no warranty, after endless phone calls have gotten nowhere with the company as to my warranty that was promised, they were rude and told me I had a warranty and then disconnected me!

Fraudulent practices
Ordered a Nikon camera and lens through internet. Within the hour I received a call from the "manager" who indicated that the Nikon lens I ordered had a plastic mount and for an additional $350 he would substitute the better lens. I was not in a position to decide and asked to call him back. He did not give me a name or number and, after several minutes of "pressuring" me to upgrade and give him a credit card number he indicated that he would call me back in 30 minutes. He never called.
I checked with Nikon USA who told me that this company was a "Gray Market Reseller" and the Nikon products I was purchasing would be overseass products and would have no USA warranty. I calledShopDigitalDirect back, cancelled the order, and requested an email confirmation of the order.

I ordered a camera from this site. It went through. It got all my personal and credit card info. Everything is fine, right?
Tomorrow morning I get an email from a Chris, saying that "they are out of stock on this item and it is gonna take 6-8 weeks(!!) before they get this in stock again". Isn't this ridiculous or what?
A total waste of time! And talk about getting all my personal info for nothing. I hope I don't see my info sold to spammers and such someday.
In a nutshell, the site is not reliable and I am suspecting of even more vicious stuff like being a personal information farm.
