SCAM
Found a $12.00 charge on my credit card statement from shopper discount.com (800-889-8776) I called the number and the lady could barely speak english. She says I signed up for their 30 day membership when purchasing a prescription from drugstore.com
The $12.00 is a monthly membership fee and I would be getting a $10.00 rebate in the mail? What they offer I have no idea!!! I told her to cancel that membership and refund my card the $12.00 because I never signed up for it. She said she would cancel everything immediately and would send me a confirmation email. She didn't sound too surprised. This must happen a lot...

Credit Card Scam
In December of 2009 I was purchased some items at Dr. Leonard’s web site. In the process of paying for it with my credit card, the web site offered a $10 discount coupon and I accepted. Everybody likes to save money. Only what was offered was deceptive. When the offer is accepted your credit card information is sent to Shopper’s Discount without the customer particularly knowing that. Shopper’s Discount then starts billing your credit card $12 per month for its questionable services. When you finally realize you are being billed monthly for unwanted services and call Shopper’s Discount, they provide you with a cancelation and a refund. It skirts the law by offering to refund the last four months of its billing.
I know as I get older and mentally slower that I do not wish to be duped by companies such as Shopper’s Discount who can only exist through the cooperation of companies like Dr. Leonard’s. Evidently, Dr. Leonard’s and other companies like it must be profiting from this arrangement and therefore are just as guilty in this ploy to deceive the consumer.
I was also promised a refund for 4 months of payments which has yet to occur.

Illegal Charges to Credit Card
Saw charges on my bill which I mistakenly assumed was something else. After a few month, realized the $10 monthly charges was not for the service I assumed. I called them and...there applogetic staff knows this is illegal and will quickly applogize and "credit" your account up to 6 credits or 60 dollars along with graciously cancelling your service that most of us never signed up for. I said I wanted a FULL refund and their response was that I needed to fill out an affidavit (probably assuming most people won't go through with it). I filled it out along with a complaint to the Attourney General of WA. Both documents were sent "certified" mail. I got a full refund of all charges minus the 9$ for the certified letter. This is such a scam and they know it! They are counting on people 1. not checking their credit card account 2. believing they did click for the service and thus accept the charges 3. to not call and complain. 4 to be happy with the cancellation, friendly customer service 5. be extra satisfied with refund 6. and almost never to fill out the affidavit and call the Attourney General.

debit card payment
I am very shocked to find a payment of £10 going out of my account to this company today, I bought some books from my book club and they asked if I wanted to join this site, I said yes because I thought it would be good, there was no where on the site that told me there would be a monthly charge. Upon trying to access the site again to ask them a question, would you believe it but I don't seem to exist, my email is not registered with them, so how come they were able to take money from my account.
THIS IS SUCH A SCAM
If they don't acknowledge the fact that they have taken money without asking, then I will take the matter further and go to trading standards, then if I get no joy I will go to a solicitor.

Scam
Be careful, once they have your credit card number they will continue to charge you. I've had to call and cancel two times. Like others have stated, they offered a $10 discount on my next purchase, from there you will receive a monthly $12 charge.
The representative on the phone stated that she would stop the charges, but she also stated that an email was sent out telling me that I signed up for the service; never received the email.
I suggested to the BBB that the company should be required to have a link verifying that you requested their service. If the customer does not respond, then they obviously do not want SHOPPER DISCOUNT privileges. Hopefully, that will stop their unauthorized charges.
If everyone would put in a BBB complaint maybe they will stop this nonsense.

MIsrepresentation of Charges
After rechecking my bank statement, I saw a recurring charge for "Shopper Discounts". I did a Google search and found the complaint board with a similar comment. I called their Customer Service and said I wanted to cancel this "service" and wanted a refund. (800-889-8776)
the Representative agreed to cancel the account and send the refund.
I agree with the other complainant that is is a not quite a scam but not clearly a service that is useful. Their fast response indicates taht they do not want trouble.
So REALLY read what is asked for online. Hope this helps.
