pharmacist
My husband and I attempted to purchase diabetic supplies and some Aleve from the pharmacist "Alim". His complete rudeness and lack of professionalism caused us both to become upset, leaving the store and all of the purchases behind. This pharmasist was blatently annoyed at my questioning of the use patient profiles for non-prescription purchases and we were told repeatedly "you can get this somewhere else". Well we did go to another pharmacy where we were not only treated with professionalism and dignity, but plan to make all of our non-perscription purchases in the future.

Customer Service
I purchased some eye makeup remover from Shoppers Drug Mart. It was their own cosmetics brand (Quo) and has the same return policy as the Life brand (satisfaction guaranteed!). It did not work very well and it stung my eyes. I sent an email to the company and told them I would be returning the product. I never did hear back from anyone.
I went to Shoppers to return the makeup remover. The cashier seemed new and was not familiar with the return policy (something I'd assume is part of basic training). She commented that it was used (um, yes, that's how I know it stings my eyes!). The other problem was that I didn't have my receipt.
She called the manager, who was not familiar with the return policy, either. I had to quote from the company's website that I could return a Quo product without a receipt for a full return or exchange. The manager took my word for it but said I would have to come back between 9-5 and do the return with the cosmetics manager!
The experience was completely ridiculous - I threw out the product and never returned (I work between 9-5).

Bad Service
This store had the worst service I have every seen! All the employees were rude to me and refused to help me find the items I was looking for. Then when I asked to see the manager she yelled at me and actually told me that I wasnt worth her time because I was just an unimportant piece of shit. The employees name was Rose. She should definately be fired! Nobody should be allowed to treat others that harshly.

rude employee
i am a regular customer of shoppers for years.. i go to the dunbar branch on 27th avenue... but it is very dissapointing how the customers are treated. Two employees named margareet and elle are very rude specially margaret. She is very rude and has no idea how to behave with a customer. She constantly asks for ID. Whenever i see her there i feel like walking out of the store. they are very ill manered. if they are always so angry then they should not come to work.
on the other hand Kal and Wendy are very nice. best customer service. they are very welcoming.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT MARGARET AND ELLE. EVERYONE IN THE NIGHBOURHOOD HATES THEM SPECIALLY MARGARET... I Have recieved the worst customer service from her..
please do something about her...

ANYONE WITH ASTHMA / ALLERGY PLEASE READ
On July 21, 2010 I went into our "new" Shoppers store. They resently closed 2 smallers stores nearby to make this one.
One of the two that closed was a 24hr. The only one at our end of town, close to our only hospital.
I enterered into the only enterance, and had to walk through the cosmetic/perfume space to get to the rest of the store. Within minutes I started to get an allergic reaction to the smells I encountered walking in. The funny thing is I was there to pick up my asthma medication, which I found out was at the Back of the store. After waiting for almost 25 minutes, hearing the complaints of all the other customers. I finally got my medication. By the time I arrived home I was in a asthmatic and allergy attach. After taking the Max amount of medicine I was o.k. Anyone with asthma/allergies knows what the medicine does to your body. It's not fun.
Who ever designed this store is a compleat idiot and it is ovious that they (Shoppers) is only consered about the bottom line(money) then their customers. I will no longer be using this store. I'll have to go across town.
I wrote the head office in Toronto, but I'm sure they will file my concern under "G".

Terrible Customer Service
Last month I called in my birth control prescription so it would be ready for pick up when I arrived. When I did arrive which was after the quoted time it still wasn't ready so I waited. After 15 minutes I checked to see if it was ready and it was. No one took the time to tell me considering I was sitting in the waiting room clearly visible to staff.
This month I did the same and called in my order. The woman told me it would be 40 minutes. I double checked with her on the time and hung up. When I arrived to pick up my order the pharmacist told me it would be a minute or two, as she was waiting for the head pharmacist to OK my prescription. I waited and watched the head lady as she stood with her back to me on the computer. She then proceeded to make a phone call, and kept me waiting almost 10 minutes. Eventually I approached the counter and said 'excuse me' she ignored me so I said it again 'excuse me' she turned around and acknowledged me. I said 'I realize your time is valuable, but so is mine if you could just look at my prescription I will be on my way' Finally she took 30 seconds from what she was doing and I got my prescription. And just so this is clear my birth control is simply a box that needs to be put in a bag and given to me, so there was no reason why I should have waited an hour and been treated like my business didn't matter!
I only have 1 refill left and plan on going to Rexall for my next prescription.

Rude-Abusive pharmacy staff - disability related
I have multiple disabilities. On June 30th, 2010, at approximately 2:30 pm, I went to drop off some prescriptions at the Shoppers Drugmart at McCallum and Marshall in Abbotsford, BC. The staff are well aware of these disabilities, both in having seen them, and, as well, being told about them. Example, I have a severely collapsed tolerance to normal sound - last audiology test revealed lack of word discrimination over 25dB in the presence of background noise (what is normal to most people). As well, I have comminuted fractures in my left foot (that cannot be fixed without risking nerve regeneration x pain) - as well as sequalae further to vetebral fractures - and fibromyalgia recurrence aside from bone pain. My GP does not practice in Abbotsford, so I go and see him every two months. After the visit, my volunteer driver takes me to the Drug Store on our way back to my place so I can drop my prescriptions off - they can be delivered later in the day - and I don't have to walk home. On the 30th, however, I went in to drop off my prescrisptions and was "told" in a very rude, rude, rude contemptuous and pejorative manner that I didn't need to have things delivered because it cost them $5.00 and, as well, I could "walk". This is also a case of having a volunteer driver (for disabled people/seniors) who may have had other commitments? I advised the staff of this, they deemed it irrelevant. The more they made me stay in the store, the more I started to panic because at times this hearing disability of mine causes vertigo, appearing as a seizure, which it isn't, in the sense that if I am removed from the sound, I am fine within 5 minutes. I was in shock because I have always said to them on the phone that having a delivery service is great for me because it is "so hard" for me to be in stores (malls, etc.). And then, on top of it, to have some woman (I know her name) decide what accommodation I need and what I don't? while I am getting more and more panic attack stricken. I asked her 3 times to please speak more softly to me, she refused and smirked. When I asked her if she wanted to read the medical report? she dismissively walked away. She was abusive. I wonder if they have "decided" (with their medical degree??) that because I phone them for repeats once a month, that means I can use a phone as people normally do. The truth being that the only reason I have a web phone is for doctors and related matters, so by Shoppers Drugmart staff, this now means I don't have a hearing disability? Should I not phone to "prove" I have one. It was one of the worst experiences I've had hearing-disability related in a while now - and never from pharmacy people - not before. It puts me in the position where I don't know what to do. I can't allow myself to be treated like that - I just shake. Find another pharmacy? Well, that would be great if I could walk that far - the closest one is twice as far for me or, continue to be treated like I'm "one of those disabled people, worthless, who doesn't _want_ to work" - I'm not unique in this, by pharmacy staff at this Shoppers Drugmart. I've been upset for a week about this. I don't know what to do. I have no regular transportation/car, etc. This drugstore is .5 km from me, the next closest is 2.0 (approx) - I can barely make it to this one and home again.

Undisclosed Limit on Sale Product
Hi. I just came home from a very disappointing visit to my local Shoppers Drug Mart. In last week's flyer, Friskies cat food was advertised @ 3/.99 with no limits noted. Since this store (as usual) was sold out of the flavours I wanted, I got a raincheck (no limit noted on raincheck). When I went back tonight, I wanted to buy 9 cans of 3 flavours, for a total of 27 cans. Imagine my surprise and anger when I was told there was suddenly a limit put on the number of cans I could buy!!! The store management arbitrarily limited the number of cans to 12!! The flyer had no limit, the raincheck had no limit, and suddenly I could not buy what I wanted!! This store has often sold out of sale items quickly, and very rarely replenishes its stock before the sale is over. VERY POOR PLANNING ON SOMEONE'S PART -- and then to be told I cannot buy what I want!! Many items in the flyer have limits, which I have always honoured -- but the cat food had none and I don't really understand how the store can inform you of this when you are standing at the cashier's desk. My husband and I have been customers of this particular Shoppers Drug Mart for at least 10 years, but that will change quickly unless these unknown "policies" are changed.

Rude Pharmacy Staff
I work in customer service and never had I imagined the level of ignorance possible in this field.
Today I went to Shoppers Drug Mart in London, Ontario (Adelaide & Huron) to pick-up my birth control prescription. I went to the dropoff and the gentleman told me it would be 15 minutes. I spent about $40 worth of other stuff while I waited and, seeing that it was busy, gave them a few extra minutes and waited in the waiting area beside the pharmacy. After approx 25 minutes I went to pickup my prescription. When I gave my name the short blond woman was very rude and told me that my prescription was expired (legit. I had another one with me, but thought they would've let me know if the old one had run out) and that I wasted their time. Taken aback I apologized and said I did have another one with me. I was the only customer waiting there, but she wouldn't take my other prescription. Insteatd she told me that I was in the pickup line and would have to get in the dropoff line (a few feet away, no one else in line). She turned her back on me and went to work behind another counter... how embarassing! There was no one there to help me at the dropoff line. I looked like an idiot and felt worse as she said all those things loud enough for people in the aisles to hear and the college student standing behind the counter.
I'm a pretty easy going person and customer and have NEVER felt the need to complain before, but this is eating at me.
I pay for this service and have never felt so humiliated by a stranger before (by that time other people were there). Chastised in public by this individual to whom I was nothing but pleasant, I took my prescription and went to Rexall instead. Good choice, they're cheaper and had much better service!!! But I never want to spend another cent in shoppers again. Good to know since I've always been an emotional Shoppers shopper. Goodbye!
