I notices a charge of $22.00 CDN($20.00USD) being charged to my mastercard account each month and did not know what the charge was for. I returned from vacation and began to research the expenditures and found them dating back to Sept. 29/08 and my account was being debited $20.00USD each month for the past 26 months for a total value of $520.00USD. I contacted the company at their phone number and was told that my expenditure was in regards to my membership which I did not cancel when logging on to True.com in seven days after Sept.29/08. I never used True.com nor did I agree to any membership charges for Shopping Essentials. I would like to recover any or all monies owed and from what I discovered now this company is nothing more than a scam. Can you help me?

Shopping Essentials is a fraud and a scam. They have stolen over $300 from me since April 2009 and I just discovered this - it is August 2010.

I don't recall signing up for anything - i receive no emails, no monthly statements, no offers, no nothing. They claim to be a shopping service that promises to save you money and send you gift certificates by shopping with certain online vendors. If this were a legit company, they wouldn't try to slide under your radar with only a sneaky monthly charge. They would be sending you offers for deals etc.

If you see funny charges from "SHOPPINGESSEN" etc. on your statement, do not try to contact the company. Call your bank and get your card cancelled and re-issued to you. Report this to your bank's fraud department and there's a good chance you'll get refunded.

This company is a SCAM!! I am very pissed I thought that it would be a good idea to save money and use coupons to buy groceries with this company. But when I first received the info in the mail it wasnt even coupons like the rep said over the phone it was a book askng me to check off products that I might would purchase and send it back to them then they will send the coupouns for those products in the mail. I am also pissed because I never used the coupons and the company is still taking money out of my account!

Before Christmas my wife purchased a book on line from a large, well known company. In January and February of this year she noticed two charges from her debit card from MOV. At first she wrote it off as something she purchased while traveling over the holidays but then realized the charges were the same amount and one was made while she was no longer on the road. Further investigation revealed the charges were from "Shopping Essentials" a well known fradulent company who apparently hacks unsecured web sites and steals debit and credit card numbers. She immediately contacted our bank's securigy office who in turn cancelled her debit card and refunded the money to her checking account. In the meantime the Citrus County Sheriff's Office has turned this case over to the Florida Attorney General's Office for prosecution. The CCSO's Seniors Against Crime organization has also been informed of these scammers.

This company debited my bank account a total of $74.75 without my primission. I had not even heard of this company. Please, it this happens to you, write to the BBB. If they get enough compliants, maybe this will stop.
