unauthorized charges
Shopping Essentials debited my banking account without my knowledge and I have no idea how they even have my information. I am hoping they will credit my account. I would really like to see some regulations on these kinds of practices, in most markets when you take someones money without permission it considered STEALING!!

Fraudulent Charges
I have a similar complaint from what seems to be a "child" company of Vertrue, Inc., Adaptive Marketing LLC, VistaPrint USA, Inc. and VistaPrint Ltd.
I ordered gift certificates through RESTAURANT.COM, and was unknowingly "signed up" for this scam.
Called my bank today, and they got the SHOPPING ESSENTIALS people on the phone where I complained that I had no idea what these charges were, and that I had been charged 14.95 this month and last month.
What baffles me is that I have purchased from restaurant.com in the past and NOTHING out of the ordinary happened.
From my bank, they transferred me to a representative at Shopping Essentials
1877-442-5774 where I talked to Miesha (sp?) # 153522, and she said I would have the membership canceled and the September charge would be taken off, and I said that is a scam, is there anyone else I can talk to.
She promptly transferred me to her supervisor, Nerali #21097, and I told her I was never aware I was signed up for the program, and I had better be refunded the first 14.95 charge as well.
Surprisingly, she said that yes she would refund it, and it will post in 2 business days.
We will see if it posts. If not I am calling back and saying I will be having a lawyer contact them.

Unathuorized charges
I also had unauthorized charges on my account from Shopping Essentials. I don't even remember when I may have purchased any items through them in the past. I called Customer Service and was told I would be reimbursed about ten days ago. I still have not been reimbursed. I just called again and was told I would receive a credit within two or three days. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens now. I am also wondering why this outfit has not been reported to the Better Business Bureau. The Department of Commerce would be yet another option.

nauthorized charges
My husband just realized that we have been charged $19.95 for 3 months in a row by this company without either of us knowing what we had purchased or subscribed to. We will be calling them to cancel whatever it is we supposedly authorized. I will also be calling my bank to put a block on this recurring charge.

Fraud
Once I completed my shopping at Chadwicks.com a survey appeared on the screen and upon completing it I found an e-mail that stated I'd signed up for Shopping Essentials. They sent an e-mail with terms and conditions that stated that I had agreed to have my debit card debited each month to pay for a membership...no price is mentioned and they reserve the right to give discounts or add to the price of the membership. ??????????? I am sending a letter (certified mail) to terminate a membership I never even knew I was starting...it's ludicrous and these companies should be punished for this sort of business practice.

mar, apr may charges when ordering restaurants.com
When I ordered restaurants.com certificates at 60% discount paying on line with my credit card from citibank, I filled out a routing survey and was automatically enrolled in shopping essentials.
They billed my citibank master card for 3 months although I never used the program or ordered any merchandise through shopping essentials. I phoned to complain to shopping essentials that I did not want their services and my account was cancelled as of Jun 1. However I believe I am entitled to some benefits for the 3 months during which I was charge 14.95 per month for membership in this shopping essentials.

"Rebate" sign up fraud
Using Restaurants.com, there was a banner for a $10 rebate on the purchase. This link actually signed me up for recurring monthly charges from Shopping Essentials. When I called to dispute the charges, they were "sorry you didn't get the email with the information to call to cancel the service within the 30 day free trial period." However, they did cancel the membership and reverse all charges promptly. When they get caught in their deceipt, they at least rectify the situation.
The same situation from the same website happened to another friend of mine as we were both purchasing gift certificates around Christmas.

unauthorized debits
There have been atleast 6 months worth of unauthorized debits from Shopping Essentials of $14.95 each from my checking account. Is there an EFFECTIVE way to get these debits to stop and get my money back??

Fraud: Unauthorized charges
Ordered vitamins from VCI*VITACOST.COM. I did not request any promotions. Got a $19.95 charge from Shopping Essentials. Never heard of them before. Also received a $10.66 charge from "MORTONWILLIAMS TAN NEW YORK".
