Awful everything
While installing a new furnace and thermostat control device, the crew from Sierra Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning (Chico) made numerous errors in the install that caused damage to my home. Two attic access panels and panel trim were broken/damaged and had to be replaced. The crew said the panels were not cut properly so they did not fit. We have used those panels for years without a problem. Wiring in wall where old thermostat control was located was damaged resulting in an outlet not working. I know this outlet worked before the crew came to my house because I use it every night for a night light in our hallway. Contractor found a break in wire at top of wall where crew was working. Contractor also found sealant around vent pipe on our brand new roof had huge gaps with no t-pipe/u-pipe to prevent water from entering our attic and new furnace. Condensation drain pipe was installed incorrectly resulting in water flooding our ceiling and floor directly beneath the furnace. Nails popped out of several ceiling boards causing the boards to sag away from the ceiling. Ceiling was also stained in several areas. Wiring on furnace installed incorrectly resulting in problem with our AC unit. Our AC would not work in May due to fact that wire at furnace was connected to wrong terminal (found by AC repairman). Debri left in our attic from old furnace was still attached to 2x4s resulting in a loud vibrating noise when we ran our whole house fan. Sierra Refrig. has reimbursed us for the first few repairs (attic access panels, trim, inspection of furnace by another HVAC contractor--$250). We still have invoices for repairs totaling $450 that need to be paid. This is for repairs that have either been completed or are waiting to be completed. Sierra has invoices for all the work, but refuses to pay. I will not allow Sierra Refrig. owner/employees in my home without another licensed contractor supervising their work since any inspection of work is necessary due to the negligent work of Sierra's employees. Sierra will need to pay for the additional contractor since I did not create the problem. Additionally, Sierra has treated me like I am some sort of criminal for requesting that they pay for their employee's mistakes. Their receptionist even went so far to tell me that their company had taken care of the problem by firing the entire crew that worked at my house, and because the crew had been fired they did not need to pay for any additional repairs needed! How does firing the installation crew fix the problems they created at my home?
