Non-payment of refun
My husband and I purchased the Extended Warranty through Signet Financial and made sure we followed every requirement to receive our refund. We submitted our refund in November of 2010. They stalled then finally told us we would receive our refund March 25th, 2011. I called several time prior and left messages without call-backs. Finally, on March 23rd I was told the check would be sent as scheduled. It was not. It is now one week later, April 1st, 2011 and now they say their offices are closed until further notice. The internet site is shut down. They scammed us for $2000.00. There must be something done about these people.

Service Contract Refund
We purchased an extended warranty service contract in 2004. If contract was not used within the 5 year period, a refund was promised for the value of the contract. We did not use the service contract. We started the refund process in September, 2010. We have provided all the paper work and jumped through all the hoops and after many promises and delays, the last being we were told our check would be mailed March 4, 2011, we have not received our refund. In our last attempt in getting information re: our refund the employee in refund dept. told us a check was never cut or mailed and she had no idea why. If you call Signet now you get a voicemail saying they are closed.

Car Warranty Refund Yet to be Honored
Like several others on this sight, Signet Financial has not refunded my warranty as agreed. Even though I was told I would be receiving it MONTHS AGO! They put your off, claim the check was lost in the mail, send messages to accounting and never get back to you, etc. From what I gather, I'm not the only person they do this to, and it's probably their way of delaying payment. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, and they ignored that as well. Next is the State of California Department of Insurance. If anyone can tell me what it took to get your refund I am all ears.

Warranty
I finally received my refund through SFG. It took eight months! When they gave me a date, I followed up with a call. I learned that you don't leave messages but tell them you will hold. I would put the phone on speaker and continue with what I was doing. Some days I would call seven or eight times. Once you get past the squeaky voice that directs calls, find a contact person. On top of leaving a paper trail, I documented every phone call. By the time I was through they pretty much knew who I was by voice.
Filing a report with CA BBB helped also.
The dealership where I purchased the extended warranty no longer deals with SFG. They are thoroughly embarassed to by associated with them. They also helped get my refund by having their own contact person.
GOOD LUCK!! And don't ever ever give up.

refund
To keep this from being too lenghty, I will just say that we too are now being "stonewalled" by signet financial.
They have indicated that we have qualified for a refund on our Contract Refund Agreement, after literally months of unreturned phone calls and unanswered e-mails, we have been notified that our refund check would be written 1/28/11.
The check has not arrived...and now they (Gregg Lehman nor his employees) will return our phone calls or answer our e-mails.
We have fully satisfied our part of this CONTRACT, and one would think that a company doing business in America (any business) would be required to live up to their responsibilities of a CONTRACT. But...evidently not.
It's sad really...in these very demanding economic times, I know that it is very important to have a job, but how do you suppose Mr. Lehman and his employees explain to their families at night what it is they do for a living?
My advice, if you have not yet done business with signet financial...DON'T!!!
If a car salesperson tries to sell you a signet extended warranty...
DON'T!!!
These folks at signet are bad news and if you are working through the maze of obstacles required to get a refund...DON'T EXPECT TO RECEIVE ONE .
The BBB gives them an A+ rating...I give them an F

Non refunded Warrenty
I purchased extended warrenty on a 5th wheel trailer. If not used I would be refunded the amount If not used. I did not use the warrenty. I was checking my paper work and found I was over the 30day refund period by 14days. I called Signet Financial and got the run around and was advised to bad I was past the 30days. Signet Financial took my money. STAY AWAY!

Warranty Refunds
I too am having problems with Signet Financial refunding the unused warranty per the terms of their agreement. They keep asking for more documentation. Each documentation request has a strict 30 day time limit for your reply. If you ever get involved with this company, SEND EVERYTHING VIA CERTIFIED MAIL, and keep records. They will do anything to avoid returning the money even though they are contractually obligated to do so.

Auto Warranty
I purchased a 72 month extended car warranty from Signet Financial Group on 11/26/04. The warranty was refundable if there were no claims on the warranty. There were no claims so in July of 2009 I requested a warranty refund in writing via regular mail. I did not recieve any information, so in September of 2009 I sumbitted another request and sent via certified mail. I recieve a letter back saying I was not a customer.
After several phone calls, message left and no response I finally did get ahold of someone live. We found out they had my information incorrectly in their system. I was then told my request had to be sent 30 days from the end of my term and I did not do that.
The term on my contract clearly states 72 months purchased on 11/26/04. My notice in July and September are well within that 30 day notice. Apparently Signet claims my term actually started on 6/13/03, a year and a half prior to me even purchasing the vehicle. How is that possible? How can someone purchase a 72 month extended warranty on a vehicle a year and a half prior to them even owning the vehicle?
That said, my July notice would still be sufficiant notice. Signet asked for a copy of the letter which I sent. They then said it wasn't good enough and I would need to provide a copy of the postmarked envelope or a certified reciept. The letter was sent to them, they have the postmarked envelope, I can't provide that to them, it's already in their possesion. Secondly, the July request was sent via regular mail, there is no certified reciept. I is not required to send requests certified per their own contract but yet they ask for it as proof.
This company is intentially deceptive on their contracts to avoid refunding warranties. A live person never answers, you only get voice mail and they rarely, if ever, call you back.
