Dear All
Allow me to bring the following to your notice:
Besides being a retired Defence Services Officer, I have sufficient very senior level experience in the industry (16 years), to be able to present the following with conviction.
I herein reproduce some of my correspondence (E-mails) with Mr. Sanjay Chowdhary, Director, Silver Sand Event Management (India) PVT. LTD;
BA, 40 Sarat Park Santi Pally
Rajdanga kolkata 700107;
in the hope that you will read it and draw the required inference. I will consider it a good service from my side, if some of you can be saved the Agony which I have been subjected to.
Mr. Sanjay has not only displayed qualities of dishonesty, lack of commitment and professionalism and utter disregard for human values. He has caused harassment and is cheating a retired govt. servant of his hard earned income. Having attended a function organized by him at Orissa, I have knowledge of his doings which are most unethical and unprofessional. These are activities which can be easily termed “cheap” and not becoming of a person of good moral character.
Why I choose to reproduce the mails (and not write a story):
1. It will present an unbiased and true picture to you.
2. You can feel for yourself, how Mr. Sanjay can make promises and not keep his words.
3. He lacks basic Human values. To repeated pleas in time of serious need, he turned a deaf ear.
4. Till date he has not given a single document as promised ie; Registration for franchisee, copy of Company registration, bank guarantee etc;etc
5. In money matters, you may not like to believe him. He has now opened another branch at Delhi, without intimation to me or without returning my money.
In the end i leave it to your judgment, if you will at all like to be in business with a person of his credibility and attitude or like to have any business dealings with him at all !!.

Dear Mr. Sanjay
I am constraint to write the following.
Ever since 05 Oct 2007, when you charged us a fees of Rs 1, 10, 000.00 (one lakh ten thousand) towards franchisee registration, promising to me and "Maaji", that " leave aside what is written (fees refundable after five years), if you do not get me very good business by Dec 2007, you will return my entire money, without any questions asked".
you were also confident of getting us this business, inspite of my clearly telling you that, at this point of time in life, i will not like to join you for running around like an executive, and that you should not expect me to seek business like a sales person. under our mutually discussed and agreed terms, you were to get me the confirmed orders and i was to execute those orders. You had further confirmed that you had sufficient clout and were sufficiently organized to be able to do that.
Ever since we started, i have been sharing various concerns with you. Sadly, you have not given due attention to the points raised by me.
let me also remind you, herein, of your promise to provide me by Dec 2007, with the following :
1. proper Company Registration certificate for the franchisee;
2. Copy of Silver Sand Stage (your) registration documents.
3. Bank guarantee (AXIS BANK) for Rs 1, 10, 000.00 (fixed deposit) to us.
4. organize training material and actual training and support for me at Delhi
5. various presentation material viz; CDs etc
6. A better mail account than the present one(Fast Host) being used by the company
Soon after joining, you asked me to return back from Bangalore, for an important function at Ashoka Hotel: Delhi on 29th oct 2007. I complied, but the function, as reported by you, was postponed. well, it has not been held till today !!!
Till date, my office details (DELHI & NCR Region)do not appear on the company web site.
I have been requesting you to visit Delhi and share your business plans for this region with me and help us with advertising and publicity for the company, which you were supposed to do. You have been promising to come, but have not done so.
From time to time, i have sent you certain inquiries, regarding business proposals at Lucknow, Varanasi etc. You have not kept us in the loop and i am lost for an idea. You do not consider it important to respond to mails or to our concerns.
My sincere submission to you is, " that in case you find that for any reason you do not wish to develop the North/ Central India business or are unable to do so; kindly; in all earnest and fairness RETURN THE MONEYS TAKEN FROM US and oblige. Let us part like gentleman with goodwill. Needless to say, that being a retired defence services officer, i had put my hard earned income with you.
with best wshes
sincerely your's

Dear Sanjay
Trust this will find you at your very best.
I have been writing to you off and on regarding the unsatisfactory start and running of our franchisee arrangement and various connected issues.
The short of it is, that, inspite of your assurances, mostly verbal, nothing seems to be happening. I am stuck with an investment of Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand with you (ie;my hard earned pension money). You had indicated strong possibilities for very good business from 1st month itself. Nothing has happened as of today, although it is about 7 months now.
I have been waiting patiently, but to no avail. I have other offers from a few friends where i can start earning some money for my livelihood monthly expenses), but because this money is lying with you, i am unable to proceed with them too.
I am not upset or angry with you. But please understand my need to start earning something (i had explained this to you in our first detailed meeting and you had assured me of a good income from the first month itself). You had also assured that leave alone anything in writing, if i do not start earning handsomely within 3 months of our signing the agreement, you will refund all my money.
Kindly return my investment with you, so that i can do something further and manage my finances as a retired person.
Best wishes for your success as ever.
I am hopeful of your early reply and confirmation.

As per your instructions to me, i had spoken to Mr. Abhishek regarding refund of my deposit with you.
He confirmed having received my mail, but said the money can only be deposited by him, once you sign up the bank cheque.
I will therefore request you to kindly do the needful and have the money transferred to me soonest. As spoken to you already, the doctors are asking for my wife to be admitted again, and i do not have the money.
Whatever i had, i gave it to you, and have earned nothing from the business.
Please help!!

Dear Mr. Sanjay
It is now about two years that you took the deposit of Rs. one lac ten thousand only, with a promise, that, if required by us, you will refund the entire money after three months time.
I have requested you on a number of occasions. About six months back, I had very urgently required this money for medical treatment. Sad to say, that you only responded by making false promises of returning the money and asking me to speak to different executives in your office, for the said purpose.
Kindly stop harassing me, a retired government servant, and return my moneys, which i urgently require.

Dear Mr. Sanjay
I have received a mail from your manager, Mr.Avik Maitey. This is, after prolonged interactions with him as per your desire. Looking at the mail, I wish to ask you: what do you expect me to understand of it. !!
On one hand you say that I should interact with your manager, who has been fully authorized by you to refund my deposit. Your managers say that they are only employees and have limitations, which I must understand. The same thing happened about six months earlier, when you referred me to your old manager, Mr. Abhishek Chandak. He also kept assuring me for about two months that the refund is under process. Finally, he told me that unless you (Mr. Sanjay), signs the cheque, he can do nothing. He is only an employee and all power in the organization rests with you. Having now seen and known your ways of working during the Orissa event, I tend to believe their statements.
• What processes is your Manager talking about, can you please elaborate on these procedures? Am I a child, who does not understand the basic functioning of an organization or office procedures?
• Why are you constantly trying to fool around with me? I requested you on earlier occasions also, not to insult me by handing out hopes for a “lolly pop”.
• Why are you shying away from dealing with me directly? The discussion to work together, the various points of our mutual understanding and the agreement was between us. None of your employees/ managers has knowledge of the same. In any case, even after repeated reminders, you never gave me any formal agreement, containing points of our discussion/agreement. You only did what suited you the best, after you cleverly took away a simple signed paper from me, without defining either side responsibility/obligations.
• Why should you not be able to give me a time frame for the refund of my money, say within a week or two maximum; ie; if you are sincere about returning my money. If not, be bold enough and state your intentions clearly. Don’t play this hide and seek game or going around the bush.
• Where is your promise (to me and “Maaji”) that leave aside anything that is written in the agreement, if required by us, you will return the entire money after three months, without questions. I gave you the money based on your words, as an honorable man. Please do not destroy my faith in the goodness of men.
I have been very patient and always shown you maximum regard. Need I remind you that I am a senior retired govt. official and do not like to be taken for a ride. I am in genuine need and expect you to understand that, more so after such a prolonged interaction with you. Please do not humiliate me further, for this sum (which is not very big for you). I fully understand, that if and when you do decide to give me my money, you can very well do that in a moment. You have the means. I have always prayed for your success and growth. Let me continue to do that.
I hope you have realized by now that I am different from the crowd, from the people you may be usually interacting with. I am also pretty clear that I want my refund and pretty well equipped to employ any means it takes to get that done. I only want this to be resolved amicably and request you not to force me to adopt any other means.
Hope you will respond as a matured and responsible person.
Best wishes and regards.

Dear Mr. Sanjay
Hope the event at Noida was a success.
well, i did not get any call from your Manager, Mr Avik Maity, even after your assurances. on the contrary, i called up thrice in the last week, on the mobile number given by him:
1st time: He was busy at an event in Calcutta and asked me to call him up next day.
2nd time: Next day, you picked up his mobile and told me you were at the hospital to attend to some employee. I did not think it proper to disturb you then.
3rd time: Friday when i called him up, you both were at Noida for the conduct of an event and the communication was not clear.
Hope you can now definately let me know a time frame for the return of my money.
Please understand that I need this money urgently. I will be back in Delhi (my house) towards the end of this month.Thereafter any time, depending on the advice of Cardiologist, my wife has to be operated again.
It was in Orissa, on 26th April 2008, that you promised to return my money within two months time.( It is over an year now.) Kindly understand the urgency and let me have the money before i reach Delhi . This way you will save me a lot of problems and I know, you can easily do that. please help me.
Best wishes
