exchange policy
1-800 Mattress was taken over by Sleepy's August 19th, 2009. I purchased my bed August 1st with the understanding I had a 30 day exchange right. The bed was for a guest room and was firmer than I expected. I had bought a similar bed the year before and wanted to exchange it for this. The wonderful folks at Sleepy's took a half hour to answer the customer service number, told me that they bought the bankrupt company on August 19th, and would honor nothing. They would not even look up my information. I called my credit card company who was given the same" It's not our problem attitude", and this is now being handled by my credit card company. Stay away from 1-800 mattress as they are now the really bad people from Sleepy's. Consumer reports rated them the lowest customer service for a reason in their August or September 09 issue. So if you are thinking of Sleepy's or 1-800 mattress, think of a 30 plus minute wait on the phone, and people who can care less if you are a customer. I will never step foot in a Sleepy's or call 1-800 mattress
