Camera non-delivery
Ordered a camera (Nikon d3100 kit) 23/96/2011 with a promise of 2 to 5 working days delivery. After numerous e-mails in which my questions were never answered I have decided to cancel my order, This company took over £400 from my credit card and as of 18/07/2011 are unable to give a delivery date. Unless I get a refund quickly I intend to contact trading standards and my card company. The company seems to be a scam not keeping to the cntract they agreed with me, I would advise nobody to use them as they say that non delivery is due them be inundated with orders-if this is the case nobody who ordered since 23 June will have received their goods.

Not all that bad
OK, in the interests of balance, it's only fair I share my experience. I found an excellent deal with Simplyelectronics.net through a price comparison website and went ahead and bought a Kodak zx5 video camera for around £112, saving about £15 off the next cheapest price. That was late on a Wednesday evening.
I then got a rather dodgy looking confirmation of order email which prompted me to search reviews on this company. Needless to say, when I saw all the negative reviews I became a bit concerned that I'd been scammed, so I rang them (at 11.30pm) on their 24 hour customer service line to get an ETA for the delivery.
To my surprise they answered, and I got a polite response on the phone, and was asked to send an email to the info dept to flag the issue, which I did.
Within a few hours I got a response telling me that because of my concerns they were upgrading my delivery from the standard delivery I'd selected to the express service free of charge. A couple of hours later I got another email telling me the parcel had been despatched, and a tracking number for the parcel.
Thirty six hours after ordering, the parcel arrived at my home. Although the guarantee on the goods is via Simplyelectronics rather than through the manufacturers Kodak, the goods look in brand new A1 condition, and are not refurbished or damaged in any way as far as I can tell.
I'm no expert, but having read a lot of reviews of customer experiences with this company, I have a theory that the problem here is the reluctance of the Chinese owners of the company to routinely accept credit cards as payment for goods, resulting in those with addresses that dont match billing records, those with less than perfect credit scores, etc, being asked for additional ID or having their goods delayed until payment is cleared. But like I said, that's just a theory...
Given the prices this company seem able to sell goods at, if they crack this problem they could take a lot of trade from the likes of Amazon, Dabs, Maplin, etc.
As for me, I'm happy with my purchase and quite impressed with the speedy response I got from both the phone call and my emails.

Fraud
This company pretends to be operating from Boston, MA but in reality is located in Hong Kong. The pretend to have hard to find items in stock. When they receive an order instead of shipping the merchandise they delay and give multiple excuses. For example, we have sent the order to dispatch for scheduling. When the order is canceled they throw up a bureaucratic smokescreen to delay. I have no idea if my money will ever be refunded. It is obviuosly a big mistake to deal with this outfit.

Non Payment of refund
Ordered a camera costing £720 on 17th March 2011.
Camera not delivered, so cancelled the order. It then took 3 complete months to prise the refund from them. 3 Months to process a refund, with each reply from Simply Electronics from a different " Customer Service Executive" in their accounts "department"...
Quite simply - Simply Electronics are out and out fraudsters. They deliver probably 50% of goods ordered and use the remaining money belonging to happless customers - to fund their operation.
USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

No stock and no refund
I ordered a camera because they claimed to have stock and a competitive price. After placing the order I came across a site that said this was not a smart thing to have done. I did phone them to find out when they would be shipping my order and was told they were out of stock. I then cancelled my order and got an acknowledgement on May 10th 2011. I have phoned them continually and am told that my refund is in the last stage of the credit department. Finally today on June 7th I was recommended by them to put the situation into dispute with my credit card company!

Failure to deliver
I ordered two digital cameras value 2.000 euros. They did not deliver and weeks down the line I do not have my refund despite Paypals best efforts.
These people are internet crooks, you should not go near them.

No item received, no refund
After ordering 2 MacBook Pro from them on February 10th, 2011, I was asked to send a scanned copy of my passport, visa card and utility bill to verify my identity since this order cost 3, 200 euros.
After sending them the required proof, their email replies go like this:
14/2/2011: notified that they received the documents and my order is been processed
17/2/2011: they told me that they are trying to ship the order as soon as possible and will be notified by email when they do. Order is expected to arrive 2-3 business days after shipping
21/2/2011: told me that after "chasing" my order with their logistics department, they are unable to provide me with even an estimated dispatch date due to a very high volume of orders
22/2/2011: told me again that their logistics department is still suffering from backlogs but they will handle my order on a priority basis
28/2/2011: informed me that upon packing my order, they discovered that the 2 macbooks were damaged and had to be returned to the supplier. Unfortunately though they didnt have any more in stock so a "gesture of goodwill" they asked me to choose a replacement product and they were willing to cover the price difference if any
On 29/2/2011 I replied and told them to send me the next available 15 inch model, which a price difference of 160 euros per macbook.
1/3/2011: they replied that the price difference was too big and they couldnt cover it
On the same date I asked them what was the maximum price difference they were willing to cover and they said that they could only cover very small price differences.
On 2/3/2011 I offered to cover half the price difference and they could cover the other half since this mess was their own fault.
4/3/2011: they replied that they can not again cover half the price difference.
At this point I emailed them back asking to cancel the order completely and refund me the money.
7/3/2011: informed me that my refund request has been forwarded to their accounts department and once it was processed, I would receive an email from them.
After waiting a few days, I emailed them again asking whats taking so long to refund the money since it only took them 2 days to run their verification check and charge my credit card.
11/3/2011: informed that the refund takes 3-5 business days depending on the workload of their accounts department and was "assured" that they will refund me anytime soon.
Today, 16/3/2011, I emailed them again since I was still not refunded nor had I received an update from their accounts department.
I am starting to think that they will never refund me and I will loose 3, 200 euros!!!
I have all of my emails and their replies in a single email thread. Is there anything I can do to get my money back as soon as possible?
