I wonder how such companies are still on the market
I ordered a camera from simplyelectronics.net 10 days ago and no sign of delivery. I have sent them 3 emails so far. But no one has responded to my querry. I am going to ask for a refund tomorrow. I wonder how such companies are still on the market. Some thing has to be done against them as quickly as possible.
Stay away from them.

Scam
I attempted to purchase a EOS 1D camera from this company in Jan 2-1- for £2200. After a long decision making process I ordered the camera and the money went out of my account on 26th. I received an email to say my order was on hold and that they needed further proof on identity, copies of my card, utility bill and optional to help would be driving license and passport. My bank advised me to not to enter into any further transactions. I cancelled the order and then took another month before getting my money back after I had engaged Trading standards to work on my behalf. I have research many forums and sites to find very similar and other horror stories. Several said after using this company their accounts received very odd transactions. Nothing though is written up on this company so others can find the truth about them. Just what are they doing? Are they just unprofessional? incompetent? or what? They use fulfillment companies, money-bookers and mailboxes etc to do all the doggy work, so they avoid any direct customer contact. There refund system at times appears to be slow or even non existence.

Online Fraud
I ordered a camera and lens. My account was debited immediately. They then pretended to require documents to verify my identity which I provided, but they never supplied the goods nor refunded my money. They are thieves who should be expelled by the credit card companies and paypal etc. How long will they go on getting away with blatant theft?

Fraud,Poor business Ethics and Scaming PPL by Steeling there hard earned money
On March 15th 2011 I ordered a Tokina 50-135mm F/2.8 AT-X 535 (Nikon mount) From SimplyElectronics.net and two day later I received this Email
"Dear Customer,
We have generated a support ticket to help us track your inquiry. Your
ticket code is LTK145030. Please use this ticket in any further
communication relating to this matter.
Greetings from SimplyElectronics.
Upon packing your order, we had discovered that our shipment of
Tokina 50-135mm F/2.8 AT-X 535 (Nikon mount) was damaged, and therefore
had to be returned.
Unfortunately, the replacements are not expected to arrive within any short period of time.
We apologise for any inconveniences caused, however in this
unfortunate event, we would like to ask if there are any other similarly
priced products listed on our site that may be suitable as a
replacement? Should the price be slightly higher, we can perhaps waive
this as a gesture of goodwill (please note we can only do this usually
for minor differences).
Likewise, if the price is lower, we can have this reimbursed to your account.
Kindly let us know by reply and we will do our best to expedite this for you. Otherwise, kindly advise on how we should proceed.
Looking forward to your response, thank you.
Kind Regards,
Tobias
Customer Service Executive"

My money was taken within seconds of me placing my order the cost was over £1000, 20 days later still waiting
Having made a point of telephoning and checking the availability of a product, I was told the item is in stock. My money was taken within seconds of me placing my order the cost was over £1000, 20 days later still waiting. They show a 2-3 day despatch period. I have rung 3 times, the last time I was told on packing my product it was found to be faulty. So I suggested they send a replacement, I was then told they were awaiting a replacement from their supplier. So why are you still showing the item as being in stock? I asked. At that point it was made clear I can take it or leave it. Surely I cannot be the only person being misled.
I have requested a refund in full and have complained to Trading Standards.

Refund, what refund? LTK145025177742X
I purchased a Mobile Phone on the internet at the beginning of October (2010) from Simply Electronics. Suspicious of the old-looking packaging, I immediately asked for and was eventually given a return address, to which I returned it unopened on 13 October (2010). I sent it recorded delivery, and the Post Office records show that it arrived on 15 October (2010). I completed their RMA form and returned it with the item. Indeed I have complied with everything they requested (except that I refused their invitation to open the phone's packaging).
Despite numerous emails to Simply Electronics since 15 October the company have not refunded the money I paid for the phone. I tried to talk to them on their customer care line, who said there was no way of talking to their Returns Department: I could only email them.
I suspect they intend never to refund my money but will indefinitely put off their commitment to refund me with endless standard acknowledgment emails.
What can I do in these circumstances?

Supicious activity and refusal to refund
So, i decided to buy a camera from Simply Electronics.
The first time I did this, my Credit card company called me up and told me there had been some dodgy activity on my card, they had blocked the last payment, and cancelled my card. I didn't think the two were linked (yes, I know, gullible me) so I tried again.
This time the transaction went through, but within an hour I had a request from Simply Electronics asking for further confirmation of who I am - a scan of my card and a copy of a utility bill. Well, gullible I may be, but even I thought that was ridiculous. I called the number they had supplied and asked what they wanted this information for. They said they needed to further verify my details. I explained that it would be ridiculous to give them a utility bill and a copy of my card that I would be inviting identity fraud, and I would not give it to them. She explained they would not be able to process my order without this info, so I calmly asked how I should go about cancelling this order. The young lady on the end of the line kindly told me to respond to the email I had received requesting the info, and that would cancel the order.
I did as she suggested, so you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that they had taken over £300 from my account. I emailed the same person I had spoken to previously, and I copied in the general "info@" email from the website. After a few terse emails back and forth I was eventually promised a refund. a week later, and I have not revived any such refund, and I have requested the contact details of the company CEO.
I will keep you informed, but please don't trade with this company - they seem to be quite unscrupulous.
