Will not update
I have tried to update my Sims 3 for such a long time now. It's getting really frustrating. I'm normally pretty good with computers, but I've given up and decided to ask the world hoping that someone that answers this will have better knowledge on Sims.
For about 2-3 months i had an error message that would pop up. It was a qtcore4.dll. I finally got that to go away. Now my problem is that my Sims wont update at all. It will act like it's updating, and the loading bar will pop up as if its updating. But when I play the game it hasn't updated. In my game launcher it says I have game version: 1.0.631.00001 I want the 1.17 update. I have re-installed my EA Download manager already. I tried updating from a website instead of the launcher and nothing has worked. I don't have any expansion packs such as Ambitions or anything. Please, help me out. If you love Sims like I do, you know I'm going insane. Thanks :)

crash and blackout
I recently purchased Sims 3 for my PC. I was very excited for the new game and I own many of the Sims games and expansions... However, I am very dissapointed with Sims 3. I have never had a pr0blem running any of the Sims games on my PC, and I'm just a little confused at how Sims 3 continues to crash every time I play it. My PC exceeds the requirements needed to run this game. I can play in build mode for hours and hours, but right when I try to play in live mode, the screen goes black and the game stops. I have to restart my computer via power switch because ctrl alt delete doesnt work. I have tried a new graphics card, I have tried fixing the settings on my computer, and I have even deleted alot of my other games just to make sure this game could run fine (which i shouldnt have to do btw)... I have also tried many other things with tha game, but I continue to have this problem... I have also found that MANY people are having this exact same problem.. a few minutes of game play, then the screen goes black. This only leads me to believe that there is a bug, glitch, PROBLEM with this game. EA should definitely look into this and maybe even recall the game. I am very dissapointed that I cant find the help I need to play this game. I have also played the sims game on a brand new gaming desktop, AND HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. So, EA, please fix the problem. I know that one complaint probably wont have any impact on this company, but I am definitely discontinuing using and buying any EA games, if this cant be fixed.

Just Heads Up
Either right or wrong, EA "Electronic Arts" isn't really at fault, they just made hard decisions which everyone does. I've worked for the customer service department for 12 years, and in those years I have never had soo many calls from people complaining about a game I never even tried or played for myself. Anyways, we do have our share of problems at my company, sometimes we have a deadline to release things to retail and sometimes it doesn't work right. We try our best to fix these problems and sometimes it takes some hard dedication to fix and lower the problem. So back to EA. EA released a wonderful game, and iti s the Sim 3 We decided to test them ourselves on 13 up todate computers. It seemed like 5 of those computers ran the game fine under specific settings and hardware. The 8 others had some kind of wierd out problems with the game.
As we took notice of this we concluded the game has problems with the newer quadcores using highend ram and newly released video cards. This is a problem that EA has caused, even though I don't like blaming other companies that are partners with us, I feel EA has rushed this game to meet marketing standards. EA, is a huge company with hundreds of chain companies connected to them in a network. Sims 3 might seem important to everyone on here, but let me remind you, EA owns hundreds of other games. Most of these games have more importance and depending on the varacious problems, EA will only fix them if need be. It seems The Sims 3 have a 50/50 chance of running ok with most computers even with glitches.
EA has two choices, to extend the period of releasing the game and making more customers agitated or fix the biggest problem of them all. One of them was to extend the 3D Glide Accelerator Wrapper in the Sims 3 game to make it more stable and graphics lush. The other problem was getting the game coded right to work with newer forms of quadcores that just rolled out 2nd quarter. The problem is, was that EA chose a decision they knew would cost them and that was to release it with problems and than work out the bugs. EA had another bigger problem, they were losing to current lawsuits from other companies, Sims fans were pressuring for a release, and they were losing a lot of money. Before you guys start bashing the game, understand that, most of the people who wanted the release soo bad was the consumers, and regardless if EA is at fault, you made them rush the game, and they did. Does EA marketing team like what they did, no, did they do it out of money, not really, they wanted to make their fans happy and didn't want to lose that. Every big coorporation is known to fall, and it happens, and EA is struggling just like every big company out there. Always keep an open mind and better things will come up shortly!

Horrible Game
Simply Horrible Game. Sims 3 is a huge let down, go read or type in Sims 3 in google. You will see soo many complaints over users with issues having out-dated pc's and users with highend pc's that can't run the game without crashing. Once again folks EA is the sole owners, Maxis is gone. I want Will Wright back please, he knew how to make Sim games. EA just knows how to screw them over and why do they even care, they own hundreds of other brand games their making money off of. Sims 3 is just a dent in their pocket book. Bottom line borrible game...

Sims 3 is so slow
OK so today my dad buys me the sims 3 collectors edition, and i was busting to play it. but when i have it installed and done, IT GOES SO SLOW. it's not good enough, come on, EA! you had us waiting all this time for a game that won't load?? i've been looking around and it seems i'm not the only one with this problem, and i don't want to have to go out and buy more RAM or a graphics card incase that doesn't work either which would also be a waste of money. Also the graphics are terrible! for example i went into 'Create A Sim' and my sim's face was blotchy and looked like she'd been badly sunburned! even after i adjusted the skin tone, then i tried to change her hair and guess what? it only took about 10 MINUTES for a new style that i clicked to actually come on to the sim! It's really annoying cuz my dad got me it and it costs £40! i mean what do i tell him now? "oh dad by the way sims 3 sucked!" It's just NOT GOOD ENOUGH since this game had every sims fan waiting for ages for this game! I might as well go back to sims 2, it had better graphics by far, and probably won't slow my computer down and also it proably won't be a huge waste of money, AGAIN.
thanks EA for messing up my computer and causing loads of people dissapointment. they should bring out a better version of the game that isn't slow with crap graphics.
