I purchased this TV from Best Buy in September of 2007. It worked get for the first six months. Six months later, I have been having some horrible problems with it. It scrambles and has some horrible color problems (whites are showing up pink and blown out details).
I started calling Westinghouse after the first of the year and got the run around. They have at least three different Customer Service numbers and in the end they don't handle their own warranty work or repairs. You wind up dealing with a company called ITI. They are hard to reach. It took calling every week for a month to get them working on this.
Finally, ITI took my information and said they would call back the next day with a repair estimate. No one called in 24 hours, so after two days I started trying to reach them again, never getting a person but only leaving messages that were not returned. After several days, I was told that the repair required the replacement of the motherboard, for $465. A brand new TV that cost $600, did not last two years, would cost $465 to repair!
There was little negative information on this product in 2007, but now, in 2009, I see that there are many other people with the same problem. You can see some of the problems here and at Amazon

This product is defective and Westinghouse must know about it, and they have done nothing for all of their customers who are stuck with expensive, defective product. Now, I see there is a class action law suit in the works (http://www.lieffcabraser.com/defects/westinghouse-hd.htm). I hope the company gets taken to the cleaners.
Westinghouse wants to be the operator of choice for nuclear power plants around the county. If they can't make a reliable TV or stand behind their work, how can they be trusted with nuclear power plants?
