Hello All,
I have read the other complaints concerning service at Skoda dealerships here in Egypt. I too, am currently experiencing difficulties with having repairs done to my 2009 Skoda Fabia. However, before I get to my complaint, I am wondering why in all of the other complaints, no one has mentioned exactly which Skoda "TauKeel" they have had problems with? Maybe if these shops were identified by name it would help to improve service.
Anyway, my problem is that I have a 2009 Fabia which was involved in a traffic accident. As a result, the car requires a complete rear tail light and a complete rear sub-frame (locally called a diffrance'). After the car having been in their shop at Moharem Bey, Alexandria, for over 10 days I am just now finding out that they say that they can't get the rear sub-frame and that they "might" be able to find a rear tail light. Although, they have said that they can get a sub-frame from Germany in about two months, but not at their original quoted price of 875 L.E. If they cannot get the sub-frame from Germany, then they want to use Volkswagen parts to repair the car (which will void any warranty for many parts of the car).
All of this AFTER they have had the car for 10 days! And now they are thinking about using used parts from a Volkswagen? I might as well have taken the car to the street mechanics in Kafr IL-Duwwar or Damanhour!
This is most certainly not the way to run a dealership. Oh, and on a parting note, has anyone noticed that on the Skodaegypt.com website there is no way to contact them through the site?
As a foreigner who has lived in Egypt for over 12 years I have become accustomed to less than spectacular service, but this time it is totally unacceptable and I will be taken my complaint about Skoda to the international level very shortly.
